A STAPLE in the sushi roll

We usually choose Quan's as our local spot, but definitely not after tonight. My husband ordered sushi and suddenly spit out a piece because a STAPLE was rolled inside the avocado! I've never witnessed something so dangerous at a food establishment. Luckily we aren't spending the night in the ER, but rather disgusted that the employees at Quan's insisted they couldn't offer a refund but rather a "credit" that will be honored when we call for our next order. As if (a) I'll ever be ordering from here again and (b) a refund "isn't possible" when I've received a refund here before when they accidentally charged my cc twice. This situation was BEYOND dangerous and I'd urge everyone to be careful eating anything from here.

Quans kitchen is fantastic. The service, staff and sushi is outstanding. Daniel's Mai-tai are amazing, highly recommended.

It was around 8 pm so we were hoping it wasn't too packed and luckily it was about 50% full. They are located in a plaza with lots of popular businesses so parking can be scarce at times, but we had no issues this time. We were seated at a table with half comfy bench and half rigid chair so my friend and I decided to turn the table the long way and both sit on the comfy bench side. One of the hosts saw us close like sardines, came over and happily moved over a second table for us which was super kind of her. We ordered a sweet potato roll ($9), shrimp tempura roll ($12), and shrimp pad thai ($19). The sweet potato roll was the best one we've ever had as the sweet potato was not only really sweet, but it was very crispy and almost had caramelized edges. The shrimp tempura roll was also delicious. The slices were thin but wide as it had two pieces of shrimp tempura. I asked for spicy mayo on top instead of eel sauce. The pad thai was my least favorite since it didn't have many veggies, but also because it was a little too sweet, though the little lime wedge helped a bit. It did come with a good amount of shrimp, maybe 8 of them. For the prices, the serving sizes were good. Our server was attentive and very nice. They have a couple TVs along the wall and they have an open sushi bar where you can watch them making the rolls. The place is also clean.

We had 3 people in our party for hibachi but they wouldn't let us do regular hibachi and said we could order hibachi at restaurant (hibachi was empty). The food was an absolute disgrace to hibachi. It was nothing like the fresh, sizzling, experience we expected, nothing remotely close to the hibachi we've had here before. It was clear they slapped together some subpar ingredients and called it "hibachi" to appease us. When I raised my concerns with the manager, it only got worse. He had zero people skills, no empathy, and couldn't communicate effectively. His dismissive response? "We use the same sauces, and next time you should do regular hibachi." Excuse me? That's no apology or solution--it's an insult to loyal customers who've supported this place through thick and thin. This was a slap in the face. The refusal to provide the full hibachi experience for a party of three, the abysmal food quality, and the manager's rude, unprofessional attitude have ensured we'll never return. Save your money and avoid this place at all costs.
