James is amazingly coordinated. I booked him only a day in advance and he took the time to call me and give me a super detailed rundown of his process. I was looking to buy across state, and he listened to my concerns and reassured me on each of them. He gave me his game plan in full depth and detailed this documentation and communication process, messaged me when he headed out, and was sharp on time. My battery light came on last week and basic knowledge I know led me to problem solve what was going on. I cleaned my terminals and figured my alternator was now going out. I sought out a few places but really was happy with James from the start when he took the time to answer every question. He sent me reasonable quotes and came within the time he promised. Now, my car is frustrating, I know that. The first day was a challenge but it showed me how much pride James took into his work and with the new problems that emerged (damaged radiator hose, and in need of a new radiator), he promised to come back the next day to tackle everything. Since he's mobile you can see everything that is going on. You can see where my car gave him problems due to age, and also when he should've taken different routes with the serpentine belt. lol But he owned up to any of his own mistakes which I truly admired. I believe you need to meet people in the middle, especially when it comes to cars, because you don't know what time has really done to it, but you also want someone to understand that and find different routes. The next day James came and fixed everything within the hour. You want someone to have the know-how to find new ways to fix the problem and be honest with you what is going on and if any errors occurred. James' quality work, valued cost for great parts and his expertise, along with his genuine honesty, allowed me to have piece of mind the second day because yes, this whole car problem stressed me out! I don't believe he was trying to add on any additional parts because he showed me what was going on, the leaks, and you can hear and feel the difference. I will always thank him for his time. My dad would usually help me with cars and after his passing this was one more thing that hurt me to look at or an activity I wish I could have again with my dad. My vehicle's battery went out last year and AAA serviced it with a replacement battery. I paid nearly $300 for the service. Ever since the battery replacement my vehicle died on me 6 times. AAA would come out and take a look, but would refuse to replace the battery as they stated that nothing was wrong with my vehicle. Let's start with most jobs James is similar or at least competitive with a brick and mortar location. He'll be the first to tell you an oil change is not the best value for you or him. Now I'll share my experience: I requested a project and he was the FIRST to reply. The reason I highlight that is customer service these days is LACKING, so if you want to stand out you do what's different. The price he quoted me to change my spark plugs was more than fair. He also can do it faster because other vehicles are not waiting. He's very knowledgable and can diagnose the problem quick. I learned about his military and mechanic background also. The concept of a mobile mechanic will catch on. Who wants to be at the mercy of a shop (heavy wait times) or dealer (shady)? James sees it from a customer's perspective so it's nice to know he can come to where you are to do the job. He was very open to the idea of me watching him work on my car, which I did for a bit (mostly talking to him). He's there to earn your trust and prove his credibility. for once "work got in the way"...usually something family related causes delays but this week it was a work crisis. i had scheduled a brake service for front n rear pads and rotors but was interrupted by a last second rush job to help a friend's job. i had to cancel the brake job at my trusted shop but was still in dire need for new brakes for holiday travels n crap like that. after reaching out to several mobile mechanics i came across james of quantum mobile mechanic. after reading a few reviews i knew i found the perfect mechanic! james gave me an intricate breakdown of itemized parts/labor of agreed tried-and-true aftermarket parts and an etc of 2hrs. after signing the invoice agreement and scheduled a time that worked for me, james arrived within the time he said he would arrive and got straight to work. he listened to my gripes and started with a quick diagnostic. he found that my woes were accurate and got to work right away. i thought hounding him would give him stress but he welcomed it. was nice to chat about the olden days of working on cars as kids as well as other random shop talk. all the while he kept working, never skipped a beat, never glossing over small details and proper procedures. he found a torn gasket from a piston in one of my calipers (gonna get that fixed next by james/quantum soon) he stated it "still works well but will cause problems eventually" he completed the job in under 1.5hrs, bedded the brakes and did a quick test to confirm my suspicion that my car's suspension was soft and would need replacing soon. james did all he promised he would do (and much more) for the agreed amount he initially quoted! his pricing was a great value to me since i was able to finish up my job, help my friend from a crisis and get new worry-free brakes for the holidays and future problems thanks to james and quantum mobile mechanic! in a blink he was here and gone. no traces that he was working on my driveway except that my car had brand spanking new brakes! he took all garbage and busted parts before he left and no new stains on my driveway either! thank you james! looking forward to the future projects we spoke about with my car! read more

James is the man! Finally a TRUSTED mechanic you can count on! I've hired him a few times to work on my 99 Celica and he always does a splendid job! And let me explain why you can count on and trust him! Before I found out about James, I needed my front driver wheel bearing replaced. I'm no mechanic, but I know cars very well, and when I took it to a shop called Trojan Tires in West Covina, they told me that I needed both front wheel bearings replaced, so I did it. Just a couple months later I started to hear noise on both sides in the front! Found James and he said that they did a horrible job. They didn't recommend seals and put a ton of grease which wasn't necessary for my car! So in conclusion, if you want an honest mechanic who won't half ass your car, hit up James! Let me start by saying that I am a researcher by heart. I like to explore my options. Well, I was impressed by the way James communicated with me. He replied quickly and the most impressive thing is that he gave me a quote just by getting the information on my truck. I needed brakes badly and my usual mechanic couldn't do the work. So I put up a request. Most of them just said come and we will take a look and that's it--no other response or follow-through. James on the other hand sent me a detailed quote (which by the way was the lowest price that I had ever got for this particular job). I approved that and he was supposed to do that today but he got the parts early and got to my house late in the afternoon yesterday and was ready to work. He knocked down the job quickly and cleanly. He explained what he was doing and walked me through the process. It is hard to find a good mechanic nowadays especially one that will come to your house and do the service that he does. I will refer him to my friends and co-workers for a job. He showed up on time and due to my lack of knowledge I mistakenly gave him the wrong information. He then went out of his way to go grab an extra part to complete the job yesterday without charging any extra. Again, this is hard to find someone who will do that (not even my regular guy). James will have my future job from now on. I just drove my truck today and the brakes are functioning great. By the way, I use my truck for work so I do tend to put heavy miles on it, and taking care of my vehicle is my priority.
