Let me start by saying that I am a researcher by heart. I like to explore my options. Well, I was impressed by the way James communicated with me. He replied quickly and the most impressive thing is that he gave me a quote just by getting the information on my truck. I needed brakes badly and my usual mechanic couldn't do the work. So I put up a request. Most of them just said come and we will take a look and that's it--no other response or follow-through. James on the other hand sent me a detailed quote (which by the way was the lowest price that I had ever got for this particular job). I approved that and he was supposed to do that today but he got the parts early and got to my house late in the afternoon yesterday and was ready to work. He knocked down the job quickly and cleanly. He explained what he was doing and walked me through the process. It is hard to find a good mechanic nowadays especially one that will come to your house and do the service that he does. I will refer him to my friends and co-workers for a job. He showed up on time and due to my lack of knowledge I mistakenly gave him the wrong information. He then went out of his way to go grab an extra part to complete the job yesterday without charging any extra. Again, this is hard to find someone who will do that (not even my regular guy). James will have my future job from now on. I just drove my truck today and the brakes are functioning great. By the way, I use my truck for work so I do tend to put heavy miles on it, and taking care of my vehicle is my priority. Top notch service! Out of all of the mechanics I reached out to, James was the most transparent and worth every penny. The best part is how he comes out to you. My check engine light and trac off light were on, and it was diagnosed as an ignition coil misfire. I reached out for quotes on parts and labor, and he provided a detailed quote with all the parts needed and the expected labor hours and costs for the repairs. He was extremely responsive and very transparent with all of his answers to my questions, which helped us choose him for the service. He was able to come out the next day to make the repairs at my home. He came with all of his tools and went straight to work on my 2015 Toyota Corolla. He allowed me to observe the repairs and walked me through every step as he was doing them. He is extremely knowledgeable and thoroughly explained the condition of my old parts, the nuances of the new parts and even why he was applying anti-seize. After the replacement, he cleared the codes and ran me through results of the new codes generated. It was clean, but he still went through everything that the car computer initially tests and the things that are tested after driving a bit. He then inspected all the parts under the hood and walked me through the condition of everything. He even checked my brakes, tires and alignment. Overall, the whole process was excellent. He expertly provided the repair and even taught me more about my vehicle. Where do I start? I was having problems with my Mazda 3 and wanted to look for a mechanic to diagnosis the issue. My car was a bit finicky starting up, so I decided to just call a mobile mechanic. First time calling one, but man, what a huge difference. You save so much time by not having to wait in the waiting area for hours or having to get an uber back and forth. Yes, it's a bit more money than shops, but I personally felt like it was worth it. Often times I feel like shops just rush through your service, but James was as thorough as can be. James lacks the most basic integrity. First,he cancelled our appointment then got late for the second one. That's okay,I'm fine with it. He came over to check my AC for cooling issues and told me I needed to buy an AC receiver dryer, and that the labor for replacing it along with the expansion valve would cost around $500. I agreed and went to buy the parts. When I returned, he told me the labor would be $835 and that this didn't include the initial $175. So, he was going to charge me almost $1000 in total. I couldn't believe he could make such an outrageous demand. His explanation was that he didn't quote based on the labor book, but asking for $1000 is treating me like a fool. read more
