Have been going to this shop since February this year and so happy that I found it! I had a check engine light illuminating on my 2019 Chevy equinox, and reserved an online appt for engine diagnostic to be completed. The next morning I got a call from Mike to confirm appt and confirm need for services. Mike was very friendly , attentive and knowledgeable. The diagnostic included a thorough inspection of engine , which I appreciated. Not like other places where they just run a scanner and don't try to get eyes on the problems. Mike and his mechanics are very knowledgeable , and take the time to talk with you and educate you about the problems going on with your car. In addition , I very much appreciate that there is never any pressure to sell you any services that you are not ready for , or don't want. This will keep me coming back as a loyal customer. For the costs of services , I'd say they are average and comparable to other shops , $180 hourly labor, and Mike is very transparent about cost of parts and services, and will ensure that he does what he can to work with you. There are also a variety of options to pay for services , such as cash , credit card, debit card , Zelle and even a payment program, if needed, through Snap Finance. I brought my car back recently due to issues with my turbo , and Mike was able to offer different options to accommodate drop off and pick up of my vehicle, in addition , offering shuttle services (limited to 10-15 miles out). Mike provided a lot of education for what went wrong , what it takes to fix the problem and what the upkeep should look like and a rough timeline to help me stay on top of needs for my car. Mike provided details , and even sent photos to keep me in the loop of what's happening with my car parts and explained in length of what needs to be replaced , to provide a great description for me to help me make well informed decisions about my car. While completing my turbo, Mike kept in contact, and provided step by step explanations about what was going on. If you're looking for an auto shop that will provide quality, honest services for your car, I'd for sure say to come here. I've been to plenty of shops and can say that I have not ever had the service that is offered at this shop. I'm a lifetime customer now :) .

My car needed both low beams replaced, an oil change and a tune up. Matt was quick to provide me…read morewith a quote that was reasonable. Scheduling the appointment was easy. Brought my car in, went over some paperwork and was told I'd be contacted once the inspection was complete. Sure enough Matt called me to let me know there were some items found during inspection and which ones needed to be addressed right away. After agreeing to the updated quote they got to work. I came back to the shop prior to being told my car was ready, and I think there may have been a delay in getting parts needed (dropped the car off at 9am, wasn't done until 4pm). Other than that, the quoted price is what I paid, there wasn't any pushing to buy a service that wasn't needed. I will definitely be bringing my car back for the additional work needed.

I requested a quote through Yelp and my request was sent to multiple auto shops. I chose this…read morecompany based on location and called ahead to confirm they could do more than just read basic codes. I had already done my own diagnostics and knew the car was running rich. I had ruled out the upstream O2 sensor, catalytic converter (both new), MAP sensor, and fuel injectors. I explained all of this to Matt before bringing the car in. He assured me they could perform deeper diagnostics with their equipment. After dropping off the car, Matt called and told me they had "confirmed" exactly what I had already told them, and that the next step would be pulling spark plugs--for an additional fee. At that point, I decided to go elsewhere. What I don't understand is why I was still charged the full $85 diagnostic fee, plus a $4 hazardous materials fee and $3 shop supply fee. Plugging a car into a diagnostic scanner does not generate any hazardous waste--no fluids are drained, no chemicals are used, and no parts are replaced. There's nothing about a basic scan that would justify a hazardous materials charge. That kind of fee typically applies when disposing of things like oil, coolant, or other regulated waste, none of which occurred here. In the end, I paid $92, wasted time and gas, and learned nothing new. The most concerning part was Matt admitting he didn't even know spark plugs would need to be checked as part of further diagnosis.

I live in San Clemente and she lives in La Verne which is about 75 miles away for me, no problem I was at her home @ 8am. I explained to her that I used to have my vehicle serviced at H Car Repair and should give them a try. Ok Grandpa let's go she stated, about 7 minutes away arrived and I let her explain what service she needed and any problems she is experiencing. A very proud Grandpa as she spoke with the owner-manager of the shop. She and Dave agreed to have the work completed. So she and I went to have breakfast and enjoy each other's company which was wonderful to catch up. A couple of hours later her vehicle is ready, Dave brought in the parts replaced into the lobby showing my granddaughter and explaining in detail the process and cost. It was a win win overall H Car Repair has a new customer and Granddaughter now knows that she can go have her car serviced without being taken advantage of at a fair price. 5 STAR SERVICE GRANDPA HAS NOW DONE HIS JOB, THE LITTLE BIRD HAS LEARNED TO FLY ON HER OWN !
