Most recently, I had to return the vehicle again after the same symptom came back, and it even broke down over the weekend. At this point, my car has been in the shop for about two months total. I will say, I do appreciate that they've provided me with a loaner vehicle. That has made a big difference in being able to get to work and take care of my family. However, the overall experience has been exhausting. I've already paid for two major repairs, and the issue is still not fixed. While the team has always been willing to take the car back and continue working on it, there have been instances where things were missed initially and only addressed later. I'm trying to stay hopeful that this latest visit finally resolves the problem, but it's been a long and frustrating process. At this point, I just want a reliable fix and to be done with the back-and-forth.

I came back to the shop prior to being told my car was ready, and I think there may have been a delay in getting parts needed (dropped the car off at 9am, wasn't done until 4pm). Other than that, the quoted price is what I paid, there wasn't any pushing to buy a service that wasn't needed. I will definitely be bringing my car back for the additional work needed.

I had ruled out the upstream O2 sensor, catalytic converter (both new), MAP sensor, and fuel injectors. I explained all of this to Matt before bringing the car in. He assured me they could perform deeper diagnostics with their equipment. After dropping off the car, Matt called and told me they had "confirmed" exactly what I had already told them, and that the next step would be pulling spark plugs--for an additional fee. At that point, I decided to go elsewhere. What I don't understand is why I was still charged the full $85 diagnostic fee, plus a $4 hazardous materials fee and $3 shop supply fee. Plugging a car into a diagnostic scanner does not generate any hazardous waste--no fluids are drained, no chemicals are used, and no parts are replaced. There's nothing about a basic scan that would justify a hazardous materials charge. That kind of fee typically applies when disposing of things like oil, coolant, or other regulated waste, none of which occurred here. In the end, I paid $92, wasted time and gas, and learned nothing new. The most concerning part was Matt admitting he didn't even know spark plugs would need to be checked as part of further diagnosis.
