Great service here and Alyssa was the best delivering great service.  In fact she could be the twin…read morefor Kristin Chenoweth. We started off with some fried green tomatoes.  Everyone does their little twist on them and this place did the same.  Personally, I am good with them as is and maybe some remoulade for dipping.  Here they had a pepper sauce that came with them and cheese melted atop the FGTs.  Not bad and nothing killed or overpowered the flavor from the FGTs.  However, I did wish that the pepper sauce had a bit more kick.  I cannot remember the name but the drink of the much was a peach based drink.  It was good and it was not just some peach flavored alcohol but it was made with peach puree.  They had me at peach when she ran through the specials.    For the main entrée it was the ribeye at a medium rare with fries and asparagus.   You get a choice of a bordelaise or garlic aioli to accompany your steak or whatever you want to dip in it.  Steak was cooked to the medium rare as I requested and that is a good start because we know there those places that consider what you ask for as just a suggestion.  Good flavor from the steak with no need for the sauce as I found out and I just enjoy asparagus.    Good experience.  Despite this being my first time here this place gave the vibe as a solid choice.  One of those places where when you are unsure of what you want but don't want to risk something new because you are hungry or with someone who cannot come to terms with their food desires.  This is a that old, trusted place you can rely on when you are hungry and good service.  A first experience that went very well.

Ofc I scroll through Yelp (as one does - literally hi friend!) and one of the top rated is The Bistro. I whip on over there and, albeit confused with the parking sitch (you can park in the back and go in through the side where the restrooms are, or you can go in through the front? Yo no sé.) I was greeted by this gorgeous host who promptly sat me and a drooooopp deeeeaaaddd waitress Annie T, don't get it twisted, came with the suggestions and shoutouts I couldn't be more excited to get. I decided on The Bistro Bee Sting (yall, I mean come on.. look at that photo. DELISH!) and a turkey melt with some cheese grits as a side. So friggin good. A bit expensive but honestly 10/10 will be back. And GET THE BEE STING! I'm still drooling. 8.4/10 only because of price, but service, ambiance, and flavor were all 10's.

We did have someone with a wheelchair with us, and we came by boat. The boat dock hands at first were telling us we could only park one way on one side of the dock, which works great for pontoon boats, but we are wake surf boats, and are not able to be tied off, and getting our passengers off was also not going to work that way. So then we tried to go inside, and that also was not great. Wake surf boats do not turn easily like others. So we left the area, and then they finally let us park the normal way we do, and we got our passengers all out safely. I understand wake surf boats are not as common, so having some flexibility with docking would go a long way for sure. The ramps are great, we had to eat outside because of our big party. We wanted to move the tables together, but they have them bolted to the floor, so we had to split up for dinner. Food was great, and our waitress was super helpful. We were able to eat on the lake and have a great time doing it. We were all so tired on the way back home.

PSA/spoiler: long-winded but wholesome ending My boyfriend…read moreand I have eaten here a handful of times previously, and we went in for brunch again yesterday. (side note: for context, we both have years of experience working in the food service industry & are very patient/understanding, sometimes at our own detriment, bc we know how unpredictable working in restaurants can be.) The restaurant was moderately busy, but there were a few open tables. Two ladies were already waiting to be seated at the hostess stand, and although the hostess was physically present, she didn't greet us when we walked in, nor was she talking to the 2 women waiting in front of us. I'm not sure if she was in her own world or having an off day but she didn't acknowledge us at all and avoided speaking to/making eye contact with all of us at the front door for 5-10 minutes. I wasn't sure if she'd already spoken to the ladies beforehand, and maybe that's why she didn't feel the need to say anything to my bf and i but it was insanely awkward, to say the least. However, after she wiped a table down and we were seated, not a big deal by any means. Our waitress got our drinks, took our order, and brought our food out very quickly. Both my bf and I ordered the crab benedict biscuit - his came out perfectly and was delicious! The only issue with mine was that the egg yolk looked like it'd come from a boiled egg and had the consistency of a piece of sidewalk chalk. As someone who usually orders eggs sunny side up or over-easy, my bf and I both knew I was either going to waste the entire meal or have to ask for a new egg (and I hate asking for things bc I feel like it's an inconvenience). We eventually settled on asking for a new egg bc I hadn't eaten anything all day and was pretty hungry. I started looking around the restaurant to see if I could see our waitress. I saw her but she didn't see me and I didn't want to bug her. It was actually the owner/GM Danielle who saw me scanning the restaurant and came over almost immediately asking if I needed something. I explained the minor problem and apologized for being a pain and when I say she couldn't have been more kind, helpful, and absolutely hilarious, I mean it from the bottom of my heart! Danielle ended up getting me a crab benedict biscuit to-go (we had plans & were on a time crunch), talked to the kitchen to see what happened since both mine and my bf's were made together, chatted with us for a bit, and comped our bill. I continued to apologize, thank her for her help, and told her it really wasn't necessary to comp anything bc it wasn't a big deal at all and she'd resolved the issue but she insisted. Needless to say, we will 1000% be going back thanks to Danielle! Loved getting to talk with and meet a genuinely kind-hearted person/new(er) small business owner in Chapin. You rock Danielle For anyone who made it to the end of this dissertation and has the pleasure of meeting/seeing Danielle at Bakon, do yourself a favor and ask her to do an impression of a piece of floppy bacon. I ordered the grouper bites with two sides, sautéd veggies and hush puppies. The grouper was fresh, plentiful. I usually order the fried green tomatoes and the hush puppies as a starter. We have also had the pasta and the crab cakes, equally delicious. Menu also offers burgers, sandwiches, wings and vegetarian options. There's outdoor seating. And parking in the back. Highly recommend.

Everyone love CAtfish Johnnys. The staff seemed afraid to be too nice and the manager literally told someone near me he cancelled all bands or did not book any rock bands or have any bands on Fridays because it brought in 'that crowd'. He wants to focus on Families and cut down on alcohol and certain appetizers that attract them. . There is that. Sooooo... Oh service was slow, we ordered three or 4 of the same exact item and all three came completely different. Shrimp was fried on one, Shrimp was cooked another way on the 2nd and Anyway the plates looked like completely different orders. The drinks were made the same- all different even when ordering the same drink. We did not complain as it clearly was not the servers fault. We will remember the manager pretty much insulted all previous patrons which includes a lot of people with boats and money and laughs. Although he wanted to focus on Families, I saw no more or any security or extra security around the water so do not expect extra safety for your children and there may have been but I didn't notice an expanded children's menu. I think the prices may have been higher too. Enjoy the new Knotted Marina and bring your own music you may not see any of your favorite oldskool bands. I normally get a Togo meal to bring home. I did not this trip. The manager may not have known he was talking to one of the bands that previously played there. I really used to love this place. We shall see
