Beautiful restaurant with wonderful outdoor patio. On a weekend, reservations are encouraged. They have impressive wine options . They have several tastefully curated entrees. We had fried ravioli with amazing vodka sauce. Then we shared pork medallions with potato Galette and garlic roasted green beans. Overall, a great dining experience, especially in ambiance and menu creativity. A little more attention to service and food temperature would make it even better! read more

Incredible food and atmosphere! You can sit inside or outside and either way has its own unique ambiance. The food is a little more expensive than you expect in Irmo, but the portions are ample and the selection of food and alcohol plentiful. Cute place, but many warts. No indication on their website if they take reservations. They do. We found out by calling. Very noisy bar which carries over to the dining room. Difficult to get a table that isn't hampered by the noise. Three of us ate there. 2 of 3 not happy with their meal. Flounder special was covered with some reddish sweet sauce. Didn't pair well with the fish. If you must provide it, serve it on the side. Chicken Vera (served with pappardelle pasta) was tasteless. Needed some garlic & other spices. 3rd dish of pork loin medallions was OK, but the green beans on the side were partially fresh, partially several days old & withered. They should not have been served. The server was a nice young man that was kind & very attentive, but the food was largely a miss. Been a couple years since we ate there due to inconsistency in the food. It'll be more than a couple before we go back. I'd suggest you keep looking. read more

This could have so easily been a good review because the food was good and our server was very sweet. But the rest of the staff ruined the experience. I came in at 4 o'clock on a Saturday, so not a busy time of day. The hostess told me that she could seat us but that the table had a 6 o'clock reservation on it so she could only seat us if we would be out by then. This came off incredibly rude and unprofessional. Then she sat us directly next to a huge table with kids running around screaming. Except they were the only other customers in the entire restaurant! So why was the only option for us to be directly next to them. We had to scream at each other just to hear over them. Matter of fact, when we left there were still almost all empty tables, only a couple others had been filled. In addition to the hostess rudeness and inability to handle properly seat a handful of people, when I got up to leave (squeezing by the tantruming toddler) another staff member shoved past me. Like, full body contact that pushed me forward. And I always check to see if someone is coming by first, so he came through very fast. I turned to apologize for being in the way but he just blasted by without even excusing himself. And when I saw what the big hurry to shove by me was about, all he was doing was clearing a single plate from someone who was finished at the other end of the large party. Literally no reason for him to be in such a hurry. The staff here needs major training. And as far as the reservations, I actually did try to call the day before to make some but the phone line kept saying the voicemail isn't set up. But I tried 5 times, and during open hours. So perhaps it's the management that's failing this business. Really pitiful, because there's potential for it to be good. Awful experience, do not recommend unless you want rude teenage staff and a full daycare atmosphere. read more

What a gem! I had no idea what to expect from this humble exterior location. This place is stunning, not just the decor and the styling but it is simply beautifully designed and everything had purpose and a place. We had an event next door and I slipped in to score same night reservations. The hostess was amazing and was able to squeeze me in within 30 mns. I was thrilled. The server was kind and thorough, she was training so had a shadow but it was a good service experience. The food was perfect. Every drop of it was cooked perfectly, well seasoned, just delightful. I was happily shocked by how reasonable the prices were. Of course you could get a $50 steak but we managed to both leave completely full for around $20. I appreciated their menu having such a wide variety of options for every budget. Wide variety of seating options as well. They have a bar, tables, booths, high tops and outdoor seating. It was winter so booths for us. One thing I do appreciate about tavern on 6 is that they provide really luxurious and comfy waiting chairs. It's like sitting and drinking at a friend house, while you wait on your table. Just those little attention to detail items impressed me about this place. Make reservations, but if you have to wait, at least be comfortable!!! My friend is one of those people who has like 1,000 food allergies and is always on a strange diet. We were thrilled when the server helped her craft something that she could eat and enjoy. She raved about what a good job they did, and if you knew her, she is tight with compliments so that should tell you what you need to know. They went above and beyond to accommodate her. Also, they were doing a charity for epworth at Christmas. Really touched me that they were helping support a local children's home. Big props tavern on 6! Will 100% be back! In from out of town and I stopped in to Tavern on 6 for dinner. I was looking for a classy casual place where I could sit at the bar. Tavern on 6 delivered for both food and wine but I also found a welcoming and friendly local crowd. As I spoke with several of them, including one of the owners, I really came to feel lucky that I came in here. It's obvious the locals have a gem of a place to come hang out that has great atmosphere. Highly recommend and will make an effort to stop by again anytime I'm through the area. read more

Wish I could do like a 4.5. Great food and great place to go if you want a more swanky kind of place to have dinner. Inside was nice and cozy, but also a little loud for my husband and I. We enjoyed our time, but did feel a little rushed when ordering since it was our first time and the waitress seemed a little busy so we tried not to disturb her with questions. Great place. We were tired of "chain" restaurants. Moving from the Scottsdale Arizona area, we were spoiled. We have been looking for a year of places that are similar to what we had in Arizona. We were in Lexington SC visiting a friend and cycling on The Palmetto Trail. This place was recommended by our friends and it was spot on. I had a grilled chicken Caesar Salad and it was excellent. Everything was fresh, cooked perfectly and served graciously! The atmosphere is very inviting and relaxing. The owner even came to our table to say hello. The meals here are some of the best in the area. Their Vodka Chicken is my favorite on the menu. Many of our local restaurants could learn a great deal from the level of service at the Tavern. We held my daughter's bridal shower for 22 people at Tavern on 6 today and Jenn and Mary were terrific. The restaurant was all ours which was so nice. Amazing service, amazing food, great atmosphere! We were sat immediately, waiter was very attentive, food came out fast. We started with the roasted tomato and Brie dip, it was delicious! We got the honey ginger special margarita, paper planes cocktail and a dirty chai martini. The margarita was a little too sweet for my liking, the martini was excellent! My husband really liked the paper planes cocktailsFor dinner, my husband got the pork tenderloin it was very tender the blueberry purée on top was not overly sweet more like a light gravy more salty than sweet. The filet was melt in your mouth! Dessert we got the cookies and cream brûlée and the peaches and cream cheesecake. Both excellent! We will be back! read more

I've visited twice and both times the service was excellent . The first visit, I ate at the bar. The bartender was very knowledgeable and the bourbon selection was on point. Second time coming in, and we were pleased. We had to wait a little bit as the inside was full and it was too hot outside, but the bartenders, Chuck and Michelle, made sure our wait was worth it. Had a variety of drinks throughout the night and were impressed with them all. When we got to our table, our server, Kate, was very attentive and interested. She was patient and gave us great recommendations and we really enjoyed our food. I went out of my comfort zone to try a seafood option, and I am glad I did. Okay, I so wanted this place to be a five-star. If it was, I'd probably live there on the weekends. However, the menu, while eclectic, is very limited. And the food is simply okay. Add in the expense, and it nocks it down to 3 stars. The staff is excellent and attentive. The indoor seating area is limited, and it can get quite crowded on the weekends. It's with heavy heart I give this restaurant a one star. It's a sweet restaurant with great bartenders and wait staff. But tonight my husband and I ate there and for the two of us it cost us $176 for dinner. $50 alone was charged for the drink order of Buffalo Trace ( 6 ounces total, two doubles.) A bottle itself cost $35 in the store. While I understand the proprietor needs to make money, why is our working class money any less respected? This was an astronomically insulting amount to charge someone for a drink order. We will never be returning to this establishment. And it's a true shame because the food is very good, the people have always been friendly. But if you don't pay attention they will assume you know nothing and over charge you for your drinks. read more

She knows the menu and guided us on our experience masterfully. We started with melted Brie with roasted tomatoes with chips for an app. My wife had the ribs and shrimp. Ribs were drizzled with Alabama white sauce which is really good. Tasted much like the authentic stuff I had while living in Bama.
