Great hidden spot! I came here for lunch but should've really been for dinner since I was full the rest of the day! Portion sizes are huge. There is limited seating due to this being a small space inside of South Coast but there is a bar and seating along the front overlooking the mall near the entrance so I could foresee there being a wait for seating. The food is great but does take a while to come out ours took around 25 minutes. The pizza was a tad bit burnt on the bottom and fell apart as you ate it but the taste was great. The Fettuccine Alfredo was delicious as well. Drinks are also great. My Aperol Spritz was perfectly made and not too bitter or sweet. This is a bit pricey but worth it. Will be returning. read more

Husband & I randomly decided to dine here for lunch today while shopping at the mall. We noticed the restaurant was doing well as it was packed during lunch so we gave it a try. We didn't make reservations but got lucky & didn't have to wait long at all to get seated. The Ambiance is on the smaller side but felt cozy & nice. As we sat down, we got served fresh bread with oil & basalmic vinegar. I rate this place 5 stars for the attentive & friendly service & quality of the food. We ordered the burrata & prosciutto pizza & both tasted good! Burrata was packed with flavor & the pizza was fluffy & light. The prosciutto wasn't overpowering the pizza either. Since we both like spicy flavors, we sprinkled chili flakes & the spicy oil that the server recommended on top of the pizza & it added extra punch of flavor. As for drinks, we started off with beer & cucumber martini & then ordered a glass of the red Super Tuscan to share. Everything was satisfying. Another fabulous dining experience at Quattro Caffe. This place has been a favorite Italian restaurant for my family since last century ( From Armani Cafe time). The dishes are tasty and drinks are nice. On top of all is the welcome feelings from the staffs who have been working there for decades. My favorite waiter is Pascual who provides such courteous attentive friendly service and full with knowledge of the food and drink he served. Through the years I noticed that so many long time customers who request to be wait on by him. He always can tell we are in good mood or are troublesome or sad and be there for us to be comforted by his service and delicious food, then find the right moment to celebrate or comfort his old customers. With so many new restaurants open in Orange County the past few years. Having Pascual taking care of us is the key reasons for many of us keep on coming back to Quattro Caffe for years. So delicious and great service. I really enjoyed the food, especially the eggplant parm. It wasn't super cheesy but super delicious. My mom got the seafood pasta and it was gigantic. We were pleasantly surprised . It was very crowded. All the seats were filled. We only had to wait five minutes for a table. I was starving after shopping for two hours, and I decided to have the spaghetti Bolognese with ground beef.. and super large shavings of Parmesan cheese fresh... I've been coming here for years. It's a nice place to stop by for italian food. It's located on the first floor of South Coast Plaza and super easy to find. Their service is always very good and their food comes out fast. On my recent visit, I ordered the beef carppacio topped with arugula and shaved parmesan, chicken piccata and short rib ravioli with marinara sauce. Everything was amazing especially the ravioli. The dough tasted so store-bought that it should've had a barcode. The dough was I'm sure frozen and tasted like cardboard. Everyone else's meals were fabulous. I came here once a year ago and ordered the eggplant Parmesan which genuinely melted in my mouth. Last night my husband and I sat down at 7:30. He ordered the famous seafood pasta which was delicious. The calamari was some of the most tender I've ever had before. I am on a strict anti inflammatory diet so I just ordered the gluten free salad and added blackened chicken. The portion for this salad was insane and the additional chicken was to do for. We went and ordered our usual standards when it came to Italian appetizers; bruschetta, carpaccio, and calamari, and we were expecting to move on and order their famous pasta/ risotto, but we actually got so full that we decided not to go on. The quality was very high and I could taste the freshness in all of their ingredients. Our group came for dinner on a weekday, and after trying out everything people have ordered, I can only recommend two things: the calamari appetizer and the seafood pasta. The calamari were soft, well seasoned and freshly fried. The seafood pasta had sufficient seafood and seasoning to justify the price, but these are the only two things that I will eat again here. The group ordered all different types of pasta dishes, which were all humongous in portion, but all carbs. We were lacking the proteins or other ingredients that were promised on the menu. The lobster ravioli tasted like something pre-made, the fusilli was bland, risotto had barely any scallops and shrimp, and vongole was bland and did not have enough clams. The dessert was also giant in portion, but nothing to write home about. The service was average. When we were getting seated, the man who escorted us pushed in the tables together using the frontal part of his body instead of his hands, which was a bit weird. The wait staff were eager to take our plates away, but not as quick as to offer our water and drink refills. There are other great places to eat in the mall, but if I must come back here, I will definitely stick with the calamari. read more

One of my favorite lunch spots at south coast. Always fresh ingredients and just all around great flavor. My order is the same every visit. Arugula salad with extra parm and the roasted salmon entree. The salad is great because it's light and not weighed down with a heavy dressing. What makes the salmon amazing is the checca sauce. Think tomato bruschetta but cooked with garlic. It's so good, my husband always order a side to go with the complementary bread. Service is always attentive and pleasant. It was really disappointing after we've been patronizing here for so many years. My husband ordered the fish and chips, fries were tiny and lukewarm, almost shoe strings size. The fish pieces looked as if they came out of a box from the frozen food isle of a supermarket! My $20+ chicken cacciatore was mediocre at best, the sauce was watery, chicken was thinly sliced and tender but again, they were small strips of leftover breast meat. The waitress and the manger were polite and didn't charge for the toddler sized fish and chips. That was the last time we will visit there. read more

The WORST customer service experience I've ever had. It was my first time trying this place, and it'll definitely be the last. They wrapped my food to go without even asking or informing me -- then told me I couldn't eat inside because it was already boxed. Absolutely ridiculous!! I asked for the manager, who was completely unprofessional and rude! He didn't come to me -- I had to go find him. And instead of apologizing or offering any kind of solution, he just said the food was already made and refused to refund me. No accountability whatsoever. I asked for owner or somebody else in charge and he said he is the one! UNBELIEVABLE! I ended up telling them to keep the food and the money. It's not about $10 -- it's about the attitude, the disrespect, and the TOTAL LACK of basic customer service. I'll make sure everyone I know avoids this low level, awful and unprofessional place. Asked the manager after an hour plus, he went to the kitchen and came back to report that their order printer ran out of ink and didnt print out order out.
