The food? Great. The music? Great. Service? Great! My only concern was with the women's restroom & the baby changing station. The restroom alone was dirty but my biggest concern was with the table. It was brown and clearly had built up dirt from use on the handle and around the edges. The thick layer of dust right above my baby's head shows that this table hasn't been cleaned in ages! YES, I use my own mat to lay him down on BUT this shouldn't be this dirty. Also, for all the parents of kiddos in diapers, the only have a changing table in the women's restroom. They do not have one in the Mens room. I just ask/expect that the restroom & changing station be kept up with the same cleanliness as the rest of the restaurant. read more

Came here for lunch on a Thursday afternoon and was seated promptly with no wait. We planned on ordering a pizza and salad to share and that's exactly what we did. The pizza was great and the flavor was on point. The salad was also good and no complaints on either item. Round it out with (2) iced teas and you have yourself a very pleasant lunch. I like how thin the pizza was too, not thick like a novel but thin like a magazine. It feels a little crammed in the seating area, but luckily we went on a day that wasn't super crowded. So all though lots of tables surrounded us not all of them were full. Staff was nice and prompt with helping to clear away unused/unwanted items. read more

We were a party of Five last weekend when we dined at this fabulous restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was first class. We happened to dine on their monthly Frank Sinatra night and were treated to live band and a singer belting out Frank Sinatra tunes. Very appropriate since the cuisine is Italian. The ambiance is like being in a quaint Restaurant in Italy if you close your eyes you could be there. My vote is for the Quattro Cafe and Domineco Grillo to be restauranteur of the year. Was great, still good. Quattro Caffe used to be my favorite restaurant! They started to go downhill before Covid, but the slide seems to still be happening. Evan (one of the old day managers) is long gone, but some of the staff still holds to his standard of excellence. Unfortunately, the pizza quality does not. The cheese feels and tastes cheaper (and greasier), the dough isn't quite right anymore, and even the basil is no longer up to snuff. And you have to advocate for yourself just for some crushed red pepper. Still, these would be forgivable, if not for the missing bean dip. Yes, the bread is still offered (but no breadsticks?), but you have to to beg for vinegar, and asking for bean dip went from "Oh, yeah, we have some" to "We'll have to charge you" to "We just ran out" and finally "Bean dip? We never had bean dip, you must be thinking of a different place..." The wait staff, bus service and host service are still great, but they can't serve what the restaurant doesn't have any more, so unfortunately, it's time to take Quattro Caffe of the list. the food was great. the lasagna was perfect and the octopus salad was amazing. however, the most memorable part of the meal was the service. Boubou, our server, was incredible !!! I have been to many restaurants all over the world and I had not seen anyone do what she did: I ordered a glass of super toscano. I found it to be bland but refrained from saying anything. boubou came over and asked him about the wine. I told her it was a bit off but I said I could live with it. Boubou grabbed the glass and then proceeded to take a sip !!! she the wine was terrible and darted off to the bar. she came back with a fresh bottle, opened it in front of us and pour me a generous pour. I could not believe what had just u folded in front of us. boubou took customer service to another level. I was not only amused by her cando but blow away by her commitment to excellent service. if you ever visit Quattro, do yourself a favor and ask for boubou. you will not be disappointed. she's a legend !!! read more

We've been coming to south coast plaza for years and recently decided to try lunch here. Wow! We were so amazed with the food. The pasta is so fresh. You can tell they make the pasta... or the pasta is just that good! Everything we've tried here is delicious. Best chicken fettuccine! The service is amazing too. Boo-boo always takes care of us like family. We've been here three times in the past two weeks. It's that good. The place can get busy and loud but surprisingly sitting outside is a nice escape. Felt like we discovered a new secret spot in the mall sitting outside enjoying the pasta! Will come back regularly! Highly recommend. read more

Service was very good and food was delicious. I brought the girls I babysit here for lunch and in spite of the girls being naughty and misbehaving the staff were incredibly kind, patient, and understanding. I just wanted to leave a positive review because often times businesses don't receive recognition for outstanding customer service. I genuinely appreciate the staff here who were very attentive and helpful all while I was trying to manage the girls and feeling a bit frankly embarrassed and exhausted by their antics. I was aware that other customers were probably assuming they were my own kids and that I didn't know how to keep a handle on them, not that I'm a babysitter trying to juggle high maintenance children who are both headstrong. The staff were very respectful and to me, that's really something special. It also helps that the fusilli I ordered was very high quality. Just wanted to say thank you. read more

This is such a busy place in South Coast Plaza and we definitely wanted to try this place out to see the hype. Don't let the front of the restaurant fool you, there are a ton of tables towards the back so you might be able to grab a table if you were to walk in. However reservations are encouraged! The prices are a little high for Italian food but they have a ton of options where you can find either a pasta, sandwich, salad, pizza, and more for lunch or dinner! I tried the Cajun fettuccini Alfredo and I thought it was pretty flavorful. It was not spicy at all in my opinion. It also was not super creamy or heavy and it was a good amount of food. We also split the truffle fries and they were pretty flavorful and tasty as an appetizer! Overall great choice for a nice dinner if you're browsing around South Coast! I always say to my wife that food could be good but service can make the experience great. Here, food and service were both excellent. Live music too? 50% tip for Thanksgiving weekend. I've been here a couple of times while shopping at South Coast Plaza. The food is delicious, and the service is wonderful. The first time I was here I tried the Chicken Parmigiana, and on my second visit, I ordered the Rigatoni Ai Formaggi. Although I really liked the Chicken Parmigiana, the Rigatoni Ai Formaggi was my favorite. The rigatoni with the four cheeses was heavenly. The highlight of our meals was the desserts. The Tiramisu and Cannoncini were amazing! The service was great here. On our last visit, our server was Bou Bou. She was sweet and thoughtful. She made sure she checked on us often and recommended the best desserts. She was so helpful! If you're craving Italian, Quattro is wonderful. The food was good but pricey- expect $30-50 range for dishes. But one thing was the service was horrible- our waitress never came to our table once. She would go to other tables and ask what they needed- never came to ours. Not sure what her problem was. The other waiter kept spilling water on our table. Besides asking what we were going to order- this waitress was non existing. But she would go to other tables and offer them service. When my mom got the check this waitress hands her the check from behind her back then walks to another table with her fake smile "I hope you have a nice day". Service was horrible. Also expect the food to take a long time. Will not be coming back. Update: looked through other reviews and it's making sense now why the service was bad: because we were Asian. Saw a review that said the hostess seated a Caucasian lady before her even though she arrived first while giving her direct eye contact. Another table of 6 Asian group posted the waiter gave them bad service but good service to the Non Asian group next to them. I thought the waitress was having a bad day and taking it out on us- nope. This is intentional practice they are doing here. And FYI- don't ever throw your check book at the customer expecting any kind of tip. We're so happy to find a restaurant at South Coast Plaza that serves gluten-free pasta. I enjoyed their spaghetti Bolognese (excellent sauce-to-pasta ratio). It tastes like nonna made it in the kitchen. They have a great wine and whiskey selection, and we were taken care of by Ron (the bartender) since we chose to sit at their cozy bar. Ron recommended a glass of Super Tuscan to pair with my Bolognese, and it was wonderful. We can't wait to visit again and try more of their dishes. read more

We were always curious about this restaurant as we shopped at South Coast and decided to try it today. On a rainy day, the restaurant was quite busy. While we waited over an hour for a table, we hoped that the food would meet up to our high expectations. Unfortunately, this was not the case. We ordered the calamari at $25.00 and found the quantity of food served small. Another table ordered the same and they received a heaping portion. We did not complain. I ordered a vegetarian panini which advertised that it was filled with sun dried tomatoes, mushrooms, eggplant, zucchini and cheese. What came out was a sorry combination of only tomatoes, zucchini and cheese. While the service was spot on, we still paid for the bill even though we were quite unhappy. Upon commenting to the person at the reception, his response was that I should no have ordered vegetarian sandwich and that he can only tell the chef. He said that he manager would tell me the same thing. He did not apologize for the poor meal nor offer anything to compensate the quality of our dining experience. By the way we ordered a pasta with salmon and a pizza. The pizza was burnt around the edges and had little cheese. The salmon dish was overwhelming fishy in odor. My wife has been here a few times but this was my first time. This place gets very busy, they have indoor and outdoor seating. Stopped by for dinner one Tuesday evening after shopping right upstairs. The hunger pangs were kicking in and my craving for Italian food is commonly present. I've been here a few times, but it's definitely been a few years. I was hesitant at first as I did not have high expectations of a restaurant located in a mall. For one, it's situated for convenience so I'm wary of whether the food would be high quality. I was happily surprised! We were seated at our table right away and served quickly with house bread and a side of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The bread was warm, lightly crisped on the outside and moist softness on the inside. Yum. We ate most of the bread. Our food order consisted of linguine vongole (with clams) and a margherita pizza (with the request to make it extra crispy). These two dishes complement each other very nicely. Also, pro tip get a side of crushed pepper to season. The linguine and clams were cooked perfectly, and the sauce was so savory leaving you wanting more. So creamy with garlic essence. The margherita pizza was also very good. Crispy as requested, and the cheese was as cheesy as cheese could be with a good amount of basil. The pasta was easily finished and we had two slices of pizza to take home. This place is a little pricey - I think it was $20 for a pizza (not too large) and $30 for the linguine vongole. I'd say it was worth it and I would come back here for the same two dishes. Try it. Only complaint is service can be a little slow. It's hard to flag the servers down at times as they're moving all over the restaurant. Also, it can get loud here with all the people and the live music. I don't necessarily mind but if you're coming here to have an intimate conversation, this is not it. read more

This place is fantastic. The restaurant itself is hectic but every server is in sync that it was satisfying watching every server handle their tables. The food was great as well. My dad got a seafood pasta that was so generous & everything of quality. I got the boloñesa & I honestly didn't think I could be impressed but I am happy to say I was! Pascual was our server and he was so prompt with everything. I finished my drink and 5 seconds later he is off to fetch me another. My first time trying this place. The ambiance is casual. We ordered octopus and potato. It was totally different from what I had envisioned.I thought it would be bigger octopus with bite size potatoes but it was more of a chopped octopus salad with tons of olives. The dressing was good but thought the salad was too overwhelming with olives. Next the seafood pasta...perfectly adante pasta with tons of seafood. I highly recommend getting this pasta but you have to ask for it as it's not in the oven. The portions are pretty generous so we split the dishes and they were nice enough to split it for us. We absolutely LOVE Quattro. The food is always delicious. Today we tried the specials. We had the shrimp and scallop pasta with saffron cream sauce with asparagus over squid ink linguini & my husband had the ribeye with mushroom brandy sauce. Our server Brianna was FABULOUS. Incredibly attentive incredibly professional. The entire staff makes you feel special. For dessert we had this delicious berry custard tart crusted with pistachios and fresh cream. I used to visit this place quite a bit about 10 years ago. The restaurant has been around for many years. I get the same thing which is the salmon! I remember it being very well flavored. As we were past by the place I thought lets eat here again! Well, the salmon is still good. A little more oily then I had remember but the flavor was still amazing. What I ordered: Salmone - comes with mash potatoes and veggies or all veggies (what I got). Roederer champagne - first time trying this champagne and wow it was really good! Our waitress recommended and she was spot on! The fish dishes are very light so if you are starving you might want to order an appetizer. THE bread was very good! I must have eaten an entire basket of bread myself! Customer service was exceptional!!!!! I'm really happy to see that this restaurant is doing well and still around.
