Called to place a to go order and they asked if I worked at the mall. I let them know that I did but I didn't care for the discount. They said we don't do Togo order for employees. I called back and called a manager and they said they don't do it and I said she didn't have to say it like that she could of said we're busy but she probably just thought I wanted a discount. I had the pleasure of having lunch here last week. I'm in Outside Sales, visit customers in a high Technology field. Sales has been my career for 40 years, I've been very successful. Customer Service is very important to me, I know how I like to take care of my clients and I'm critical of service I receive. My server, Brianna, was bright, beautiful, positive had a great personality, made great conversation, knew the menu very well and suggested a couple of dishes for me. I didn't have a lot of time. The dish she suggested was delicious, perfect and very tasty. I was very pleased. The service was quick, Brianna came just enough times to check on me (not TOO many), also had a very welcoming greeting by the Manager. This place has a very pleasant atmosphere, I will be bringing my clients to lunch, dinner or a glass of wine with appetizers here. I'm looking forward to having date night with my husband for Dinner. What a lovely little place in SCP!! The hostess started out this fabulous experience by allowing us to sit at these two seats that face out into the plaza. So much fun to dine and enjoy a glass of fine wine while watching the shoppers scurry by. Can't wait to do this during the Holidays. The food was amazing and the service exemplary. I've been coming to this place for 5 years and so happy with the service and food! Yesterday me and my husband was at the cooking class and it was definitely something new to me. We were learning, singing, dining and laughing at the same time. I don't like to cook, do it just because I have to sometimes. The way how Domenico cooks is very inspiring. It's so easy and fun. I cooked my best Chicken Marsala in my life and he showed me how to do that super quick. I have so many great words to people who works there, especially my favorite Boubou! She is a star! Having been a patron of Quattro Caffe since I was a small child, I have watched it evolve over the years with my family. I have always held this establishment as one of the finest places to dine, however, my experience two days ago was rather lackluster in comparison. The bread plate - an old favorite of ours - was noticeably sparse, with only one style of bread, missing the array of bread-sticks, thin crunchy breads, and others, as well as lacked the oh-so-famous Quattro bean paste. When we asked our waiter about the bean paste, he merely shook his finger at us without saying a word. As a staple of Quattro, its absence was a disappointment. From the bar, I had ordered an Old-Fashioned, but to my dismay, the drink had a spoonful of undissolved sugar at the bottom of the glass. Our waiter was kind enough to switch it out for a glass of wine - but the lack of attention to detail was a bit disheartening. The salmon was served with an industrial style scoop of mashed potatoes which was likewise uninspiring, and the sage and pumpkin ravioli lacked flavor. The faux trees and hedges that had once given the place an Italian flair were now gone, replaced with more tables and seating. All in all, while I still love Quattro, it seems that they are cutting corners in order to maximize their profits. I miss the Quattro I grew up coming to, and hope that the management can focus on delivering the same quality-driven customer experience that I remember. read more

This was our first time in Quattro Cafe even though we are locals and shop frequently at South Coast. It was a Saturday and the place was packed. We had a short wait to be seated. Victor was the manager and accommodated us most courteously. The way we saw staff chatting with most guests looked like a lot of locals in there. Which meant the food must be good. We passed by this restaurant so many times when shopping at South Coast Plaza. Last night my friend suggested that we have dinner here. I totally agree that the food was great, maybe a bit on the salty side but the flavor was good. My biggest complaint is the extra 3.5% charge for using a credit card, which we found out about when the bill came out. I understand that they want to avoid the card surcharge, taxes, etc., but I would have appreciated knowing in advance. The 3 stars is for lack of transparency. read more

My family has been going to this restaurant for over 30 years and has never been disappointed since the first day we walked in! Let me tell you the food is amazing and our server by the name of Brianna has been not only been friendly but very professional. We have even asked to be only seated at her table because we know we will be taken care of. She is the only person our family will ask for since she knows what my family can and cannot eat. We stopped in for a quick meal after shopping. I wasn't terribly impressed. We started off with fries which were very crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, but lacked any salt. My lasagna was alright, nothing to write home about. It was dry. It could have done with a little more sauce layered inside. My daughters penne with Pomodoro was absolutely terrible. She thought the sauce tasty a little smoky. When I tasted it - it tasted as if the sauce had burned. You know when the sauce burns and gets stuck to the bottom of the pot, you can't keep stirring cause the burned bits get mixed into the sauce - you have to dump it into another pot to prevent spoiling the whole batch. This is such a busy place in South Coast Plaza and we definitely wanted to try this place out to see the hype. Don't let the front of the restaurant fool you, there are a ton of tables towards the back so you might be able to grab a table if you were to walk in. However reservations are encouraged! The prices are a little high for Italian food but they have a ton of options where you can find either a pasta, sandwich, salad, pizza, and more for lunch or dinner! I tried the Cajun fettuccini Alfredo and I thought it was pretty flavorful. It was not spicy at all in my opinion. It also was not super creamy or heavy and it was a good amount of food. We also split the truffle fries and they were pretty flavorful and tasty as an appetizer! Overall great choice for a nice dinner if you're browsing around South Coast! It has a very personable and quaint Italian atmosphere, with occassionally different theme nights, such as Salsa Dancing, cooking classes and I have had private parties here. The food and service is alway exceptional. There is also amazing live entertainment. A great place to bring clients, business associates and of course family and friends. Also centrally located, close to the airport and freeways. Ask for Brianna (our favorite server), she will take great care of you and keep you entertained with her sense of humor and charming personality, along with her attention to detail and provide you with excellent service. It was our first time and we were going out for our anniversary. A friend recommended Quattro Cafe and we had the best time. First of all, the food was amazing! I loved the chicken piccata! Second, our waitress, Brianna, was amazing. She was so sweet, kept checking in on us, and had the best recommendations. I'd probably go back to just sit in her section! At South Coast to grab a gift at Tiffany & Co. they offered to clean her jewelry, so we came to find a quick bite to eat. Stumbled on this absolute jewel. Live music set the tone, and lively chatter filled the front dining area. Had the calamari starter- served with an incredible marinara sauce (with just a bit of spiciness) . Perfect. Had a Salame pizza (wood fired perfection) and the Marco Polo salad- everything was SUPER fresh. The only part better than the food was the service. She was very pleasant and always made sure we had what we needed. We ordered the arugula salad which was so refreshing. We had the fried calamari which I highly recommend. One server though is always on point, Daniela. She is quick with the orders and I've never had to ask for assistance because she handles her tables gracefully. Been a Quattro fan for a long time and it has always been one of our go to places. Our out of country guests requested a repeat visit to Quattro. I called and made a reservation. Upon arrival I was told that they did not have any reservations, and when I provided the name of whom I spoke to, they miraculously found it. After a 15 minute wait, they scrambled to find us a table right by the entrance and we were greeted by Aubrey. She was fantastic! Friendly and efficient. The entrees were very disappointing. Ravioli were good but very scant on the plate. The 'special' salad with chicken was $40 and really uneventful. The spinach salad was bland and did not include the pancetta. The delicious items were the seafood salad and the beef panini. The bottle of wine probably helped dim the disappointing entrees! Desserts were also very good. Chocolate cheesecake 9/10, tiramisu 10/10, crème brûlée 6/10, and berries with ice cream 10/10. Crowded which is good for business and noisy which can't be helped. Odds are we won't be returning. read more

Do be caution if you're eating at the table placed outside in the back, I have been scammed by the lady employee who's in charge of the tables outside in the back. Every time the price on the check bill would be significantly off from the menu, when we ask her why is the price so much higher than it listed on menu she would act all surprised and say the manager must've made mistakes. Today we went there and ordered one each of 2 different desserts, the desserts were good but when we received the check it shows 2 orders for both desserts. However we only ordered and received 1 orders for each. Most of the other dish prices were off from the menu too. That's when we realized we must've gotten scammed many times before because whenever we sit at the table in the back and pay the check we would always feel like the bill is a little overcharged however we never bothered to check until today. If it was a few dollars worth of mistake I wouldn't even mind but this is ridicules! Every price listed on the bill were overcharged apart from the menu, we couldn't get a picture of the check posted because she scrambled and threw away the bill immediately while telling us the manager must've made a mistake. I used to love this place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sad to say during my last visit, the food quality/prep had slipped dramatically. I'm not sure if they have changed the chef, are using inferior quality ingredients, or both. Even the table bread was terrible(completely different bakery vendor??? For Christ sake, you're an Italian restaurant will horrible table bread????). The original bread/bread sticks used so fresh and so good. I wouldn't have minded the radical price increase as long as the food quality was the same as before (pre - Covid). Whoever made these changes to the business are running it straight into the ground. Please take note, you will not survive on mall employees and bar flys. Repeat customers such as myself will definitely walk if they haven't already. The servers and many of the original staff members are (still) all excellent and professional. Unfortunately, this is a quality control problem that's in the back of house and/or possibly management. I am very unhappy about I am updating this negative review on here because this used to be my favorite restaurant in South Coast Plaza. I went here on early lunch time, and I have ordered Fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp as usual. Their Fettuccine Alfredo used to be very creamy and had good number of shrimp, but this time was completely different. I am not sure about the restaurant is trying to reduce the amount of ingredients that they use due to higher food cost, but the sauce in the pasta wasn't fresh at all, and it was bland. There were only four shrimp total. I am not sure the restaurant is understaffed, but their service went down hill. Nobody paied attention on my table, and whenever I asked something to the staff, they brought those really slowly on my table. Their Tabasco hot sauce bottle was too disgusting to touch, because the bottle was covered by grease from other customers hand, and it also had whipped cream on it. They supposed to wipe off the bottle before they serve that to the customer. Maybe today wasn't my day for Quattro Caffe, but it is time for me to look for new restaurant to enjoy whenever I shop at South Coast Plaza. read more
