    Parma cotto pizza

Waiter was awesome. Neat little joint near state capitol. Small menu but good options and many specials. First timer as I am traveling for work. Couple next to me are regulars and said everything will is good. I asked the waiter his opinion: pizza, pasta, or platter and he said pizza or pasta since it's homemade. I went pasta and took a pizza to go!!!!!!!! Both delicious

A friend had his milestone birthday dinner at Quattro Gatti's last week. We were seated at the larger table near the back since there were 8 of us. Alex was our server and he did a great job guiding us to the best options. I was not drinking but everyone else was so they ordered 2 bottles of chianti for the table which I heard was delicious! I am on a restricted diet in prep for a wellness retreat I'm going to so I had limited options to chose from. The salmon was an ideal choice. The vegetables were so fresh and tasty! Part of my diet includes no/very little salt so since I've been cutting the salt, the salmon tasted too salty to me so I couldn't finish it but it was very good. The others at our table ordered a variety of pastas and one ordered the gluten free carbonera. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I'm sure I'll find myself back here again!

Our food was all around wonderful! Quantities for the gnocchi could have been way more generous for the price. $35 for the "special" gnocchi Parm & Ramp (see photo I will attach). Flavor was great - very garlicky. Didn't get photos of the other food we all had. The chicken Parmesan was wonderful and plentiful. Ambiance is nice BUT it's very loud when they are busy which makes it hard to hear and have a conversation.

Quattro Gatti is a small, loud and festive Italian restaurant located near the Texas Capitol area in downtown. They have metered parking up the hill on the cross street as you drive past the restaurant on Congress Ave. The menu turns out to be limited and with the loud environment it's probably best for the after-work / social crowd. With no kid's menu nor booster seats it's also not super kid-friendly either. Our 4yo son usually loves penne pasta, but their closest substitute was this four-cheese Rigatoni that was modified from their main entree. Cooked al dente and pretty good, though I would have hoped they offered a simpler child entree instead of charging full price for an adult entree. Their pepper pork chop was moist and well-seasoned, though the wife commented she inly got the taste of pepper and nothing else, so a bit one-dimensional. Decent root veggies for sides. I went for the Stagioni Pizza, which is like a combo with mushrooms, artichokes and dried-cured Italian Salami (Soppresatta!). Decent pizza, although some more burnt parts that I'd like. Overall, AOK Italian place. Do note the menu seems to rotate and selections are limited, so Yelp and OpenTable may not always have up-to-date info.

Quattro Gatti is a small Italian restaurant located off Congress Ave. I brought my whole family and everyone loved their meals! I got the fettuccini Tre P and it was very tasty and different from pasta options at other local Italian restaurants. The server we had was very sweet and helpful as I hard time making a decision. Definitely worth the visit and then walking congress ave for a great night out!

    Birthday cannoli!

This is a great little place in downtown Austin, and we will definitely be back. My daughter found this place and wanted to come for her birthday. Got a Saturday night reservation (it was really dead downtown because it was Texas vs A&M night--I'm sure it is much busier on a typical weekend). Nice little spot very close to the Capitol. Got seated and taken care of by Sandra (who was great). It's a quaint place. We started with some bread, which was really the only disappointment of the evening. It was somewhat gummy, like it needed to be cooked just a little more, and it was served cold. Not sure why QG couldn't get a bread warmer and serve hot bread--it would be so much better. Lots of nice entrees to choose from on the menu, and also a lot of chalkboard specials, which I love. Ensures a nice variety for future visits. I ended up having the rigatoni truffle sausage, which was excellent. Pasta was cooked perfectly, and the flavor was great. Nice portion size as well. Not skimpy, but not too much either. My daughter had a Margherita pizza, and my wife had the Montanara pizza. They both loved it, and I have to say, the pizza crust that I tasted was out of this world. I'll come back for a pizza. We were not going to do dessert, but Sandra brought my daughter a cannoli with a candle in it for her birthday. Very sweet of her, and the cannoli was really good. Met the owner on the way out - a very nice man. Told him how much we enjoyed it.

    Rosemary "focaccia"
    Coralys L.

Not worth the calories, honestly. It's a nice restaurant in a great spot, but the food was disappointing. The "focaccia" was just pizza dough that was repurposed and did not have much rosemary flavor. The fettuccine dish I had was heavy and lacked balance. I ended up mixing it with the sauce from my husband's chicken piccata which seemed to help the flavor. My dirty martini was great, though!

Visited here for my mom's 60th birthday and we had the best time! The food was delicious, our waiter was great and the ambiance was perfect. We had a table in the back so it wasn't loud, a party of about 8. Our waitress was super helpful and sweet. She took her time with us and didn't rush us. We got the bread and the spicy pizza as an appetizer. I got the truffle pasta and was expecting leftovers but ate every last bite. The chicken parmigiana and cesar salad were the table favorites. The restaurant is not big but the big artwork made it feel spacious. I loved the pizza oven and wine wall. I will come here again!!!

Super fun and delicious dinner in the heart of downtown Austin. Alex G is the GOAT (greatest of all time) and made our night!!!! Will be back!!!

    Caprese salad
    Amy M.

Came by Saturday evening for dinner. The restaurant was not busy at all. We were greeted and sat immediately. Lighting was a bit dim but made for a nice ambiance. Our server was very attentive and informative. We ordered the caprese salad which was good but I wish they hadn't added salt... For dinner my friend and I shared a margherita pizza which was very good. Perfect for sharing and a good size. My other friend got the carbonara pasta which she said was ok.

Overall solid dinner, nice packaging, and decent price for Austin. The great: Cannoli large, firm, but too hard of a shell, tasty chocolate chips on the ends, and fresh tasting stuffing - creamy and delicious. And, great value! The very good: Meatball. Nice size, pork and beef (I think), tasty red sauce. Quite Italian. Good value. The good, but: Chopped salad. Good size, a lot of meat, balsamic was tasty, good cheese, but not a legit chopped salad. Real chopped salad- go to Tony Cs. Pizza - Tasted fine, but too doughy for legit NY style pizza (and, I grew up in NY and get there 2-3x a year). Skimpy on the sausage, but excellent flavor/tasty. Would I order from here again. Probably not, as the non-pizza options are limited and the pizza was just okay.

Seating is limited enough that you start mentally drafting backup plans the moment you step inside. We ordered the lasagna pizza, which tasted good but was noticeably undercooked -- soft enough that it felt like it needed another round in the oven. And the "lasagna" angle? I'm still trying to decode it. Everything listed as the lasagna components were things a normal pizza already has, so the theme didn't quite land. Overall: good flavor, but execution missed the mark for us. Pro tip: order it to go so you're not stuck awkwardly hovering for a table.

I've spent my life chasing the perfect crust, comparing everything from the legendary pie shops in Manhattan to the pristine corner slices in Pittsburgh. I didn't think Austin could pull off truly authentic pizza. I was dead wrong. Baldinucci is absolute sorcery. The moment I took a bite of their Roman-style pizza, I was instantly thrown back to the tiny, narrow pizzerias I stumbled into in Italy. It has that exact, hyper-specific airy crunch that is so incredibly hard to replicate outside of Europe. The dough is clearly fermented with patience. It's light, shatteringly crisp on the bottom, and has those beautiful, irregular air pockets that give it a pillowy structure without ever feeling heavy. Let's talk about the sauce, because that's where most places fail. It isn't that sugary, paste-heavy stuff you find at standard joints. It is vibrant, bright, and tastes intensely of sun-ripened tomatoes and clean olive oil. It is remarkably fresco; striking that perfect balance where the acidity cuts through the richness of the cheese without overwhelming the palate. The vibe inside the West Lake spot is casual and unpretentious, but they take their craft seriously. Food service is streamlined and efficient; you order at the counter, and they pop the slices back into the oven so they land at your table screaming hot. The staff is genuinely proud of what they're slinging, and they should be. If you are an East Coast transplant drowning in a sea of mediocre pies, do yourself a favor and get over to West Lake. It's the real deal. PS: The gelato flavors are also sorcery. However, a review of their gelato is for another time. I must continue to savor the pie for now.
