I live in the neighborhood and I must say I frequent this place for brunch. The food is good, patio is great and has amazing heat lamps so you're super warm. There is also another patio that is dog friendly (or it was prior to COVID). They have delicious apps and a really good brunch (with cocktails). I've only been once for dinner and it was good and authentic even if a bit overpriced. All and all I'm glad this place exists in Platt Park and I'm pretty surprised by the reviews. My friends and I visited on Cinco De Mayo after a day of festivities both for us and the restaurant. We were able to sit quickly on the patio (which we requested) and were blown away by the ambiance within the inside seating area! The decorations are so beautiful, the interior designer absolutely killed it. We ordered chips, salsa, and guac to start perfect amount of appetizer for 4 women. For an entree I ordered the tostadas, my friend let me try some of the chicken quesadillas and I am not over exaggerating when I say that was the best quesadilla I have ever tried. We each enjoyed a couple margaritas which were on special, I had pineapple jalapeno and it was delicious! We were very happy with the service, granted the place had slowed down a lot by that time of night but our server did an amazing job checking on us when necessary and giving us the time to chat. First time at this place and will not return. Our water pitcher was dirty at the bottom, we realized it after we all served ourselves and our glasses had pieces of junk floating. We told our waitress and all she did was say, "Oh ok...! Took the bottle and brought us a new one. Didn't bother to apologize. Then, our food came in. Fajitas were tasteless, bland, absolutely flavorless and chicken was undercooked. My husband ordered chicken mole and same the chicken leg had blood dripping. We were with a group of friends and didn't want to ruin our evening out so we didn't complain and just ate a bit of was was edible. Then we decided to try a flan for dessert, same! For transparency: This review was not solicited! I was invited to a yelp event here with small bites and AMAZING margaritas. I ended up staying on my own for dinner after. The service was excellent very friendly and knowledgeable, if anything a little to quick we hadn't finished our appetizers when the main entrees arrived. I had a barbacoa taco, nicely portioned and flavorful. My husband had the pork tamales, with rice and beans, a lot of times places can mess up these main staples, but not here! The place was relatively quiet considering how large it is. GREAT place for happy hour from 4-7 and all the margaritas are fresh no store bough mixes. I'll definitely be back, it's a great authentic Mexican place that pulls from more traditional flavors. TIP- parking can be tough on pearl but there is plenty on the side streets surrounding. We also celebrating my 50th birthday and 4 year anniversary on top of Mothers Day, we decided to try Suerte and we are happy to admit from the moment we walked into this besutiful restaurant the staff were so friendly and Kara, the manager so so so sweet and accommodating! She made us feel so infredibly welcomed. The Piscos made me feel like I was back in Lima, the bathrooms beautiful equipped with what we women need, dancing music and...also the snacks menu offered chicharones, really? Cool idea, for the KETOS ... the food was different and yummy. If I could give it zero stars I would. We were happy to have about 15 of us get together for dinner at Que Suerte to celebrate a 30th birthday, but it was a very, very bad decision... From the moment we sat down, it took 25 minutes for someone to even say hello. Finally our server, who was either on cocaine or just super rude, asked us for our drink order. 15 minutes later 3 came out, and we had to wait another 20 minutes for the rest. That was just the beginning... We went to order food and she would not take our order. We had to ask multiple times until finally she did. The food came out quickly, but was less than mediocre, and all came out separately, and 3 of the taco orders were incorrect. The whole experience was really bad, but to our disbelief it just kept getting worse. We had to get our own water, chips, margaritas from the bar etc.. The server and management were not even sympathetic or apologetic. I am really in shock this place is still in business, and I would not waste your time and money to eat at this shitty establishment. I haven't been here for dinner but rather happy hour a few times. The happy margaritas are super good... maybe too good considering how quickly I guzzle them down. They definitely are using fresh lime juice instead of a mix. I've had a few of the happy hour snacks and all of them have been good. The restaurant is always pretty empty when I'm here (maybe because I've only been early for happy hour?), but I definitely feel like this is an underrated place on South Pearl. The food here is good. The place is big, so it isn't hard to get a table. But the service is SO SLOW. We went on a Monday night, and the restaurant was practically empty (maybe four other tables), it took about 15 minutes for our server to take our drink order, and we ordered an appetizer at the same time. We had all finished our drinks and our appetizer, and I still had to catch our server's attention before we could order dinner. We weren't checked on once while we were eating our appetizer. After I finally caught our server's attention, we ordered a second round with dinner. Our server forgot two people's drinks- thankfully we weren't charged for them. Our server checked in briefly, but only once, and never refilled our water. I had to go up to the bar to get our water refilled. In all the meal for 6 people in a practically empty restaurant took over two hours. Much of it spent waiting for our server to do her job. Thankfully, the company and the good food kept it from being a totally abysmal evening. The service was astoundingly lackluster and slow, especially because they weren't busy. I genuinely enjoyed my food, but would have a hard time going back because the service (especially given the price point) makes the experience unpleasant. I feel obligated to give an outstanding review after discovering this brunch spot on a walk down south pearl. The restaurant was not busy, but still held the ambiance you want at brunch time. The music was eventful and the staff was very helpful. The interior is beautiful and clean. We were greeted by Kat, a smiling, accommodating server who literally made our visit one to remember and one to return to. Unlike most brunch servers, she seemed very happy to be apart of the business and for us to be our customers. The manager and bartender stopped and touch our table to make sure we were happy!! For brunch, there are bottomless mimosas. Like most places in Denver that make you feel rushed, and you maybe receive two, our server made us feel welcomed and kept us full without asking. The fresh chips, salsa, and guacamole was a delicious start and the breakfasts were hot and favorable. Our server overheard us talking about it being my birthday, and she even brought us a dessert from the kitchen(incredible) and coupons for a free margarita when we come back! When something is this good, you want to let everyone know. This business is a year old and doing everything right. Stop in for brunch or better yet...come in for a dinner! I have walked past this restaurant countless times walking my dog and thought it looked a little too upscale for my taste. Finally, my boyfriend and I decided to give it a shot one night and were pleasantly surprised to see that we made it for Happy Hour (it lasts until 7PM!) I like to think of myself as a bit of a chicken wing connoisseur (100% self proclaimed) but their $5 Happy Hour Alas de Pollo were phenomenal. They're tossed in serrano-tomatillo jammy deliciousness. As long as you don't mind getting a little messy picking around the tips, they are top notch. We also tried the guac which was freshly made and not too onion-y. I went out on a limb to try the $4 Barbacoa de Borregio (lamb neck and cheek) taco and was surprised to see how much delicious meat was piled on the tortilla. Didn't think too much of it because our food was really good. Well this visit, the menu changed, and got a lot smaller (got rid of both meals we loved last time). Que Bueno Suerte is one of the prettiest restaurants in Denver, absolutely perfect! It's also in one of the best areas of town. The food was delicious...we had 3 apps - chips and salsa (not free and nothing special, boo!), queso fundido with rajas (perfect! divine!), and yucca fries (interesting but very tasty). That being said, the service was weird. Our girl bartender went from overly friendly with the couple next to us, to very moody, and back to being really nice to us. The other bartender was sweet, but he was quick to point out the Horchata Margarita was not good...I tried it for myself, and yep...so gross (so why have it on the menu?). Had a fine experience until my card was overcharged and they still - despite numerous reminders - have not corrected the error despite agreeing to do so. Food is ok. Prices are too high. Service is ok until you leave. The server (or manager or whomever) decided to add 20% to my bill (in addition to my tip). I went in to report that I had been overcharged and they pulled out my receipt which corroborated what I was saying. They apologized and I was told they just needed to call AmEx to have the matter corrected and that they would call me as soon as it was sorted out. When I did not receive a call, I called them to follow-up and found out they had not attempted to resolve the issue but again promised they would. This cycle has since been repeated 2 additional times. read more

First off, the location is beautiful, so if you just want to sit in a nice atmosphere, this is the place for you; however, if you care about how your food tastes, there are better places than Suerte. We ordered a couple of items, chili reano, chicken enchiladas, chicken tacos, shrimp tacos, and chicken fajitas. The chili reano was not fried and the filing was a bunch of strange vegetables. It would have been okay if it tasted good, but it did not have anything special. The chicken enchiladas were soggy and had a sour sauce. The fish tacos were the only decent item, but they also lacked flavor. Maybe a better tasting sauce would have helped. The chicken fajitas were also very bland. I'm a fan. It's not your typical Mexican food, the dishes are inventive takes on tradition. Start with the chips and salsa and try not to fill up on them. The chips come straight from the fryer to the table and you can taste it. I had the chile relleno, it was roasted and filled with veggies. Much lighter than the traditional battered and fried version. Other standouts included the pork tamale and the short ribs. We also had the flan, and it may have been the best I've had. Que Bueno Suerte.....Mas O Menos When you get married to a girl who is 1/2 Mexican you can be sure that you're going to try every new Mexican restaurant in the greater state of CO. When I read that Dana Rodriguez from Work and Class in RiNo (I LOVE me some Work and Class) was a contributor to the restaurant I was sold and chose this place for a little Valentines Day surprise! However, to my surprise, my wife and I left Que Bueno Suerte feeling....very okay. There wasn't a lot wrong with our experience, but there wasn't anything that stood out to make us excited to come back. Let me break it down: Venu & Decor: Located in Platt Park right on South Pearl Street the location is prime. As you walk into the restaurant you're greeted with very vibrant and attractive colors with a high ceiling and a very cool neon ice-cycle looking chandelier over the bar. (See Picture). There are a ton of red-ish orange couch looking booths with an upstairs that seats an additional 30 people. The place can seat quite a few people, however even for valentines day there wasn't a lot of people there, which kind of killed the fun and electric vibe the decor would suggest. Food and Drinks: Everything about Que Bueno Suerte was good, but unfortunately nothing special. My wife and I ordered a few appetizers: The Green Chili Pork Ribs And The Chicken Tinga and Black Bean Tostada The ribs were cooked very well, and almost fell off the bone, however they lacked seasoning. It tasted as if they were cooked and then had a green chili poured over them right before they were served. Again, cooked very nicely, just a little bland. The Tostada was done very well and was something both my wife and I enjoyed. Mains: Now, I know what you're going to say when I tell you what we ordered. We didn't brave into the more unique aspects of the menu. So, take this for what it's worth and I'll update my review the next time we go. Tacos: My wife ordered the Tinga & Barbacoa taco and again they were just very okay. Absolutely nothing wrong, just nothing that gave it that bit of different of edge. Enchiladas: Again, the chicken enchiladas were good, not bad, not great. They were what you would expect at a run of the mill Mexican restaurant, which I'm hoping que bueno suerte is not! Drinks: How can you go to a Mexican place and not have a marg??? We had a house marg each and both were very good. A little small for the price, but very delicious! OVERALL: Although my experience at Que Bueno Suerte left me lacking a little, I have hopes for the new restaurant on S. Pearl. I feel like it has loads of potential, and with a little menu tweaking...and my braving the more adventurous dishes, hopefully this place can live up to expectations! read more

I will start by saying my husband and I live in the neighborhood and we really wanted to love this place. Unfortunately, the food was bland. The service was worse. It took us over 30 minutes to get our 2 margaritas...2 margaritas on the rocks at a Mexican restaurant...not a lot to ask. It was busy but definitely not packed. The server said the manager was going to come talk to us and she "might" take the drinks off the bill for us. The manager didn't even apologize for the delay in getting our drinks. And to top it off, they made our drinks wrong. They are clearly not concerned with the customer experience. Taking the 2 drinks off the bill would have a least showed they cared. Having grown tired of the monotonous food landscape in DTC and not having found anything worthy downtown, I thought I would check out South Pearl. There are a number of great places in this concentrated area, and I decided to try Suerte; the ambiance was great, and I was surprised I was the only one at the bar during Thursday HH. I ordered off the HH menu, opting for the ribs and the chips/salsa. I'll make this quick and easy: the service and the food was exceptional. I spite of sitting by myself, I thoroughly enjoyed chilling out here after work. I this place was in River North Chicago (and it's worthy of that) it would be packed. Don't pass this place up. QUE BUENO IS NO BUENO - THE MOST FRUSTRATING & ANNOYING DINING EXPERIENCE I'VE HAD IN A VERY LONG TIME Met my friend for a holiday dinner & cocktails at this establishment last night... I'm still trying to figure out if we were in the twilight zone. First, this space had had their fair share of difficulties keeping anything afloat but thought, even with JUST REVIEWS from their free grand opening party we'd give it a try. If it weren't for our good humor and fast getaway down to a neighboring establishment all fun would have been lost. Ok here goes... sat down about 6:30 pm and began perusing the cocktail menu, my friend showed up about 6:40. We ordered chips & guac (deeeelish guac - things started out with a positive vibe!) & then about 6:45 pm we ordered two drinks - one marg & another cocktail (I'm not sure of the name & went back to their web site where it says 'Food & Drink' but can't find anything resembling a drink menu). THIS IS WHERE IT GETS WEIRD. 10 minutes go by. Done with our apps & ordered our main course - nothing fancy tacos & I had a side salad. The food comes out within 5 minutes of ordering & STILL NO COCKTAILS. By this time we've asked our served 2-3 times .. 'where our drinks?' & she brushes us off saying 'they're working on it' ... there were - I KID YOU NOT - four bartenders behind the bar doing NOTHING. At this point my friend & I just can't stop laughing. It's been 20 FULL MINUTES & we're almost done with our dinner & still no drinks. I ask the server 'if we order a beer or wine will it come now?' & she says 'no really, it's being worked on, it's on its way.' Then - drinks are coming out .. BUT PSYCH - we're getting our hopes us but alas, they're for the next table .. & they just sat down just 5 minutes before. I'M SO CONFUSED .. IS THIS A CONSPIRACY!???!?? Finishing up our meal, I flag down the server again - this time she's CHATTING with the bartender .. about our drinks perhaps!?!? I say to her 'forget the drinks, we're done eating, we just want our check' .. she says 'NO, WE ARE MAKING THE DRINKS NOW & WE ARE NOT GOING TO CHARGE YOU.' This is supposed to - I guess - make everything all right. 30 FULL MINUTES HAVE GONE BY & our drinks are set down in front of us as our dinner plates are cleared ... & guess what? Their Eden Marg is undrinkable... really bad. My friend's drink is AWFUL .. not anything like he remembered it should taste. We really WANTED to like it. Then the server came over & in her defense said she was sorry & wanted to buy us dessert but we just wanted OUT OF THERE. The whole experience was so awkward & we literally had to ask for our drink or updates on our drinks over 30 minutes 4+ times with not a whole lot of action or understanding about how STRANGE the whole thing was ... As a matter of fact, we almost felt STRANGE asking when she said 'don't worry, just enjoy each other, they're coming' .. HUH?? Then we get our bill & GUESS WHAT??? The two drinks ARE ON THE BILL so we have to flag her down AGAIN & ask if she was going to take off the gross drinks that took 30 full minutes to make their way to our table. After saying she couldn't 'understand how the drinks got on the bill' (don't YOU ring up everything as the server?) ... She ended up taking off the drinks & - to her credit - the chips/guac. GIVING THIS PLACE EVEN 1 STAR IS A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE .. & I'm ONLY doing so b/c the food was pretty good. How hard is a taco & salad you ask? Well, true that, but compared to the awful drinks & experience overall it was the only shining spot in what was an awkward, strange experience. The only explanation we got from the server was super confusing - 'I told the bartender about your drinks but then it didn't ring up & they didn't hear me' .. HUH? What about the other 4 times we inquired & you said you'd check? Maybe you'll have a better experience here, you'll get your drinks within 30 minutes & you won't feel as if you're entire night is an awkward debacle. I'm not even that hard to please if you bring me a cocktail & shove food at me, but this was a MESS & we walked out feeling like the server & the bartender could have CARED LESS about us returning. I've since learned that this restaurant is owned by a larger restaurant group .. Denver is a MECCA of new restaurants & while you don't have to be PERFECT, you at the VERY VERY least have to ACT LIKE YOU CARE!!! read more

Came for the patio and a margarita and stayed for the mariachi and staff. Took a stroll through their happy hour menu and ended up with Yuca fritas with an apricot glaze and a margarita... then moved on to The Elotes, which were out of this world!!! A delicious tomatillo sauce with a plop of cojita cheese and sautéed mushrooms on top of fried grits. We ordered two portions because it was so good! It got windy outside, and the staff were quick to reseat us inside, even though they were slammed, appreciate their flexibility during busy times and their attentiveness to their customers. Tara came and chatted with us for a bit and was so friendly. The bartender also has some tricks up his sleeve, juggled a lime and knife, cut it in midair fruit ninja style, and served my friend her drink. Ivan, the chef came to talk to me and my friends and shared his passion and story for cooking. A nice place to connect with folks who love food and do it well. Amazing. I'm a huge Dana Rodriguez dan (of Work and Class) so I was really excited and this place did not disappoint. Had the best, most flavorful tamale of my life, had the FAISAN A LA PIBIL, which is achote pan roasted pheasant that was stand up and applaud worthy. It was not served with tortillas, but I think you should order some. The achote chicken tacos were really tasty too - margaritas were solid and strong, not overly disguised with crappy mix. A group of us gave this place a chance when the taco bar down the street had an hour wait time for a table, and we were really glad we did! We shared a ton of plates between us and everything was delicious, including the gauc, the yucca and the ceviche. The tacos were all unique and generously portioned, the empanadas and tamales both excellent. I had a gazpacho that was great - not overly pureed, served poured at the table over corn and cream. My drink was particularly interesting: an horchata margarita made with a smoky mezcal. I wasn't sure how those flavors would blend, but it was awesome. Date worthy decor. To say my experience here was disappointing would be putting it nicely. While the ambiance upon entering was pleasant the lack of music and staff enthusiasm made it very awkward. Our server was less than thrilled to be working and although there were only two other tables; you would have thought he had the whole restaurant by himself. The food was the worst I have ever eaten in denver - Mexicans should be offended that they are advertising this as Mexican food. The guacamole was bland and we ordered some cheese dish that I could have made better myself with string cheese and pickled jalapeños cooked in a microwave. The chili rellenos was abysmal and again, a three year old could have done more with the plastic food that comes in a child's kitchen play set. I wish I could say that at least the alcohol was a redeeming point but I'm not sure the bartender knows what a margarita is... If you are looking for a place for a quick meal this is not the right place. The service is very slow. BUT, the atmosphere and food were good. They took florescent lights and hang them from the ceiling shinning a colored light on them making something most people hate into art. It is a large space with plenty of comfy seating and a nice patio. I ordered the chips, guac, and salsa and was very impressed because they were very good. I was there for brunch so I also ordered the veggie frittata which has queso drizzled on it. I loved it and it reheated well too! There was a mariachi band playing and they were very good. I loved that they not only played traditional songs but also songs I love like Stand By Me. I really enjoyed their singing. One of the younger gentlemen singers was very passionate and it showed.
