Had a great meal here tonight, there was a tiny service issue related to seating (we had to wait about 20 minutes for a table outside even though one was available because another party was using the high top next to their own for a phone and wristlet.) The food was great, very happy with the tacos (pastor and Coca-Cola Carnitas were stellar) and the star was their beans (might have been the best refried beans I've ever had.) Drink prices were reasonable normally with the special for Friday being a large margarita for $5 being great! We will definitely be back as the porch area was perfect for us who are still more on the Covid cautious side. read more

ITs been a while since I have eaten here. It changed places in the shopping center. The Empanadas were really good, One was Chorizo, and one was Chicken. The Yucca fries were wonderful too. Guacamole was on point. I wish their chips were thinner but that is a personal preference. The Burritos were not up to par. They had rice in them which we had asked to be left out and the flavor was just dull. It had a very think covering. Not a real good tortilla. We wanted some Salsa also but none was offered. I just wanted to update my previous five star review. I can't believe it has been four years since I first reviewed it. We still love this place. Tonight, we went in shortly before closing. They were busy but made us feel like we were the only ones there. Angela, our waitress, could not have been more attentive or caring. She took care of our party of eight including four kids, with the usual kid spills and kid requests. She even had the kitchen make rice for us because they were out of rice. And the make everything fresh and in house. The decor hasn't hanged a ton from the previous tenants which the exception of the dia del muerto decor.... it's cute! My salad was tasty and fresh. Okay it is the first week they are open but we waited ten minutes at our table for someone to take our drink order and no chips for us-though we saw quite a few going by. When we got the chips/salsa they were excellent. I ordered the Cuban sandwich-wasn't a true Cuban had guacamole and the bread wasn't pressed-it was a bun-they should call it Cuban with a twist-it was good just not what I was expecting. Diablos sí! Matthews was missing a hip Mexican/Spanish restaurant until Que Onda Tacos joined us. My sister and boyfriend were on their way back to the beach and made a pitstop to see me for lunch. With Tacos ALWAYS on our minds we figured Que Onda would be a perfect place to try out. No reservations were needed for the lunch hour, but I can see this place getting busier in the evenings. Lunch specials were offered, but nothing appealed to me. As a vegetarian, the staff was able to accommodate my taco order and took the mushrooms out of play. #praise A solid beer menu, and daily specials. I was feeling the decor and the servers were incredibly friendly and helpful when walking us through the menu. I do feel like we were forgotten about a few times, but it was lunch and we were the only people in there, so it wasn't a big deal. Decided to try a new to us Mexican Restaurant thats located in the same shopping center as Harris Teeter. Honesty, I wasn't expecting very much due to the 5 de Mayo Day... however, I was surprised. We had a small wait for our table (totally expected this) so we cruised to the bar and ordered adult beverages. Bartenders were friendly and we were able to place our orders quickly. Plenty of staff on hand behind the bar. Once we got to the table, Salsa and warm, fresh chips were delivered. Their salsa is tomato based with corn and had a roasted taste to it. Different but very tasty! I ordered the Tinga De Pollo street tacos. It came with 3 tacos that had pulled chicken breast, sour cream and cheese. The plate came with a cup of yellow rice that had carrots and corn and a cup of refried beans. The rice was flavorful but the beans had little to no flavor. The food was better than expect, however I felt that their portions were small for the price. We also ordered the churros with ice cream. The churros were mushy and were smothered with too much cinnamon sugar. I believe they were microwaved too much because there was a piece of plastic on the churros. While the restaurant was busy, our drinks stayed full and our food came out quicker than expected. The restaurant is not divey at all, nor is it traditional Mexican. I would categorize this restaurant Americanized-Mexican/trendy. Very casual environment. There's indoor and outdoor seating available. We sat inside (hello...muggy Spring day in the South!) They have flat screen tvs along the perimeter of the restaurant. The restrooms were very clean! Kid friendly! Our entire group was satisfied with their food. I would give this restaurant a 3.5 but since I cant, then 3 stars it is. read more

They never refilled our sodas so when we asked for the check, after sitting for 5 minutes when I finished, the rest do the family finished ahead of me, I asked for a Togo drink. Looking at the bill I was charged for an extra soda. I assumed it was from my daughter getting a pink lemonade after they were out of milk and out of apple juice but no, it was for my to go drink. ‍. We started with A round of drinks, guacamole chips and dip. The homemade salsa is amazing. I've tried just about everything on this menu and it is all good. I especially liked that you can have tacos wrapped in lettuce instead of the traditional tortillas. My all time favorite is the Mole Enchilada. I would suggest to make a reservation which you can do straight from Yelp (Yay!). Here are some of items that we ordered from our visit. 3 amigos trio: just a little bit of everything. Their guac was pretty good but a little bit citrusy for my liking. Their homemade salsa and chips were amazing and we kept on asking for seconds (which they did not mind giving us at all). pollo en guajillo: it was good but a little bit too much cheese for me to enjoy all of it (I know...who can say too much cheese). skillet fajitas: my parents favorite and gives you your bang for your buck. Ordered the fajitas real nice presentation and outstanding favor. Not sure why every Mexican restaurant you go to they only give u 3 to 4 Tortillas to wrap your food in.
