I've been able to go to this place twice and it has been delicious every single time. I think the bottleneck is at the register. The people that are making your food are hustling to get your food down there but then it bottles up at the register and then your food gets cold. I'm not really sure why this place has 4 stars...It should have 5 :) My girlfriend and I were visiting Vacaville from San Francisco to go to the outlets today. As I was scanning for food places to try in the area on Yelp, I saw Que Onda as one of the choices and it is conveniently located at a corner across the outlets. We stopped by to try their quesabirria and their beer battered fish tacos...And I must say I was so impressed. I love that the corn tortilla was fresh that they literally press it right in front of you as you order. The meat from the quesabirria was so flavorful and the consomé was literally the cherry on top. The fish taco had a pretty big piece of fish and it wasn't drowning in batter. I could also tell that the mango salsa that came with it was freshly made and it wasn't just sitting in the fridge or bought outside. I wish I had taken a photo because their serving size was pretty big too. But it looked so good that I didn't even think about it. Also they definitely don't skimp on the ingredients. They have outdoor and indoor dining and the place looked clean and well maintained. The people that were working there were all very nice. One of them even came to our table to make sure I was asked about the toppings that came with the fish taco. As we were getting ready to leave, we were asked by another lady (who we assume could be the owner) how the food was. Maybe she could tell from my empty trays haha! The overall experience from the food, to the service, and the establishment was great. We then went to the outlets after. I loved it so much that I even considered coming back right after shopping. Saw this place on the way home and decided to try it out. Got a California burrito and it was super stuffed and filling. Very tasty, if not a little all over the place with the flavors going on. I might recommend cutting down on a few of the items if you want to slim down the burrito, but otherwise, pretty good. Would give this place zero stars. Walked in for my first time today, was not greeted and just stood there for almost ten mins without being greeted. Mind you I'm on my lunch break, the owner asks me what I want I tell her two tacos and she doesn't even ask the meat or anything. I ask her where to order and she tells me she has to make the tortillas and get the machine out. Maybe don't open ur doors to customers if you aren't ready for business. Waste of me time and lunch break. The employees were sitting around eating too and helping themselves but wouldn't help me ? Seemed very odd and the owner didn't care at all. Very poor customer service experience. Showed up there when they had a huge line which wasn't moving. The seemed understaffed or just slow or some combination of both. Placed an online order and learned it would rise 40mins to prepare when the yelp/chow now estimate was 25-30mins. I called the restaurant to cancel who said "sorry I've never done this before and don't know how to cancel the order". Called chow now how said they cannot cancel unless they reach the restaurant, who didn't pick up the phone for chownow. Now I'll have to fight for a refund. We ordered catering for 10-15 adults. We got a dozen quesabirrias with consume, a tray of carne asada, tray of rice, tray of beans, pico de gallo, mango salsa, red and green sauce, lime, and threw in chips all for $199!!! It was awesome. There was plenty of food for everyone and left overs for the next day. There was so much meat that we even made a nacho bar to pair with the taco bar. Will probably be doing this from now on. The fresh corn tortillas were amazing and the quesabirria was delicious, but the queso was super grainy. Customer service was terrible. The person taking our order had a bad attitude. They messed up my friend's order and were supposed to make the right thing, but never did so we had to ask again. It took forever before they brought it out. I had already finished eating by the time they brought the right order out. They added a few extra tacos for free, but at that point it didn't matter or make things better. I'm going to give this place A five star because out of all of Vacaville and Fairfield it is one of the places that I truly enjoy the food and I think it's very good on everything they have on the menu. There's only one place in Vacaville that I know is really good so along with the other place and this one is my top two favorite places. Finally I don't have to go all the way to Oakland to get some good food lol . I see people are rating them lower stars because they put too much on the tacos but if they put two little that people are still going to complain, Can't make everyone happy. I personally love when my tacos over were filling with a bunch of toppings. This place is still new and has a bunch of potential so be patient. If there's anything that I will change is definitely getting some labels for all the toppings because I know for some people it might be a little difficult navigating through the toppings. Came here once based on a few coworkers recommendations and got a few quesabirrias, a lengua taco, and a fish taco. The fish taco was pretty good, no complaints there, but the lengua and quesabirria were both huge letdowns. The lengua meat was basically just chunked, boiled and slapped in a tortilla so it was essentially flavorless. The quesabirria was much the same, just slow cooked beef with little to no seasoning or flavor. As much as they charge for quesabirria, they could've at least made the tortillas with crispy cheese as they're intended to be made. If you want authentic, flavorful Mexican food at a good price, go elsewhere. read more

We decided to try this place after hearing so many positive reviews. We came around 11:15 and thought the place was closed - a lot of cars in the lot but no one inside. Firstly, the corn tortillas are freaking made but the young person was having a difficult time with the tortilla maker (masa too dry?). It took awhile to get enough tortillas made for our order. The music was on the loud side so we had a hard time hearing questions along with wearing masks. Once the tortillas were finished, we chose our meat and other extras. The food was good although the meat was a tad dry. The agua Fresca had too much sweetener. We saw no other customers when we left with our take out. We will come back read more
