Excellent Happy Hour and margaritas. They have some nice bar appetizers as well. The food is pretty good too!

We went on taco Tuesday a few weeks ago. Sat at the bar, was watching a game, got a few drinks & dinner from our server Omar. When it came time to pay, on the bill we noticed we got charged two extra drinks we didn't order. When we question it, he seemed confused by it & was arguing with us that it was right... and wouldn't even try to make it right by taking anything off. Absolutely delicious!! We had the Camarones a La Diabla, the sizzler enchiladas (chicken with flour tortillas), the guacamole, and several margs! The sizzler was amazing!!! The best I've ever had! And the Mangonyada marg was fab! Definitely recommend this place. Bummer that they don't have more locations especially in NorCal! Our server Leah was WONDERFUL! Qué Pasa!? Stopped in this Mexican eatery for a snack to catch up with a friend. "Emma" was our server. She was very pleasant, outgoing, with a great sense of humor. If she wasn't bringing food to customers, she was cleaning tables and spray wiping menus. She's definitely an asset to Qué Pasa! Immediately after being seated, our drink order was taken, and a basket full of festive colored tortilla chips and a bowl of their salsa was delivered to our table. Their unique and different salsa has a mild chipotle flavor but packs a spicier aftertaste; it's different from typical tomato-based restaurant salsa - a taste sensation. We ordered off their Happy Hour $8 Appetizer menu. Our order of Guacamole Fresco, Flautas de Maiz, and an order of a shrimp and a fish tacos were all quite delicious. The freshly made in-house guacamole was plentiful and extremely good. I had a chicken and a carnitas flauta de maiz, which came topped with sour cream, a nice dollop of guacamole, pickled red onions, and salsa. The Seafood Tacos were excellent and very flavorful. Both were topped with cabbage, mango relish, and chipotle tartar sauce. Their mango relish really stood out with a big bang of flavor. They have Taco Tuesday specials that start at 3 PM. read more

Stopped in at Que Pasa in Atascadero last night for dinner. It's a little out of the way by the local movie theater. Interior needs updating but the food and service were excellent. The staff greeted us immediately with a smile and chips and salsa. The salsa is to die for. The Mexican food came quickly and the portions were big. We'll stop back for sure to have some more margaritas. You won't be disappointed. read more

Food okay, salsa mediocre. A friend and I had a couple of very good margaritas with sugar and salt rim, we love the margaritas here. However, we were going to leave to go get a salad, and the waitress stated that they had salad here. I asked if they had a Caesar and she indicated they did, I made sure it wasn't a kale Caesar and she said no it's a true Caesar. So we each ordered a salad. When my salad came, she started preparing it table side with chopped tomatoes, which I declined and canned Parmesan, which I'd also declined, but there was no egg or Caesar dressing to be made. The dressing offered to me was a cilantro cream and there was no Caesar dressing. Which is weird because they clarified that it was a true Caesar. I was charged $18. And tried to eat it with ranch dressing, but it was not good so I did not finish it. A disappointment. read more

Balance - Price was greater than Quantity/Quality. Cleanliness - Sticky tables mean that dirty rags were used, the bathroom was gross. Otherwise not too bad. Deliciousness - We asked for guacamole that was literally just avocado, they put lime juice in it. Ordered the carne asada with absolutely no spice just cooked meat, came out spicy as heck, with a flame blistered green onion and a flame kissed chili on top, also some sort of spicy seasoned butter clump. They took it back, came back with the same piece of meat that looked like it had just been brushed off and thrown on the grill for another second or two which made it tough as heck. The reason we know it's the same piece of meat, is we took pictures of it to show our friends where we were and then compared it when it came back and just laughed. The birria tacos had no flavor at all, ironic since birria and itself is a bunch of spices ground up mixed in with meat stewed for a while and then the juices are used to flavor things. To come the leftover meat to toss the dog. The flan was pretty flavorless. Our server told us it was prepackaged pre-made stuff so that's not on the restaurant. Severely disappointed since this used to be a place I would frequent and this is the second time I've had a bad review for it. How unfortunate... Environment - Although the decor hasn't really changed much, the music was not on, nothing was festive or exciting, seemed like a lot of decorations have been taken down and put away, but the bar still looked okay and had two TVs playing sports. I wasn't really aware it was a sports bar. When que pasa opened they touted having over 100 tequilas as one of their greatest advertisements. I don't know if it's still the case anymore, and the place is become extremely lackluster. All in all, the only thing that was decent was our service, and it wasn't great. First off, we've eaten here for about ten years every so often. The service has been pretty solid. Depending on the time of day or night you go, the staff always seems to be a mix of seasonal workers and seasoned vets. The chips and salsa are always good to start. And they are always patient with my boys when they order. The place is always relatively clean also. They can accommodate big parties as well. Oh yea, the margaritas are usually on point and delicious. It's a good spot to catch a game as well. I recommend giving them a try. read more

Qué Pasa? This place has just what you need if you are stuck at Atascadero high school at an all day track meet in the cold--or a month from now, in the scorching heat. We always try not to order too much so I got the soup of the day and my wife got a veggie burrito. Both were excellent, and the kind waitress (excellent service) who recommended the soup was right. It was hearty and tasty, just a bit of cilantro and jalapeño, I think. With water, the bill came to 20 bucks. So, get the special soup of the day and then gorge yourself on chips and on Que Pasa's superb salsa! Even ordering only this, we had to take some of each dish home for next day's lunch. First off my husband and I were going to go to another Mexican restaurant. But my girlfriend who lives in Atascadero said we had to try this one as it was definitely better. My husband and I really like the food both of us had Carnitas dinners which is one of my favorites. Came with rice and beans, chips and salsa. I had a Cadillac margarita which was perfect. Our server was Leah and she was pretty busy. One of the bus boys he was tall with blond hair was very friendly and kept our water glasses filled. Was served a Modelo Dark, on tap, 16 oz serving, and the beer was flat, as in hardly any carbonation or head of foam on the glass. not even a ring was left on the inner wall of the glass from a quaff. Burrito was only so so, also, filled with a lot of rice and a lot of sweet corn, and a little bit of strip steak. Like a Chipotle quality burrito, with tiny servings of quacamole and sour cream, as you'd get for a quesadilla, maybe like at Baja Fresh. This is a sit down and take your order type restaurant with expected 15 to 25% tip for quality of service, but the quality of the food for the price of a burrito is just not there, it's more fast food in quality and taste. Javier is always so friendly, amazing and one of the best waiters I have ever met . We have always had such great interactions with him. Today we got there he literally brought us our drinks before we ordered. He is top notch. If I owned a restaurant I would steal him and make him lead waiter. I ordered two chicken happy hour super nachos and paid for the food to go. Management came back and said happy hour is dine in only, they need to charge me again to regular price since order is to go. I asked nicely if they would honor my payment since there is no mention of dine in only on their website and I was already charged and any future visits I would dine in. I was given one complete and half an order of nachos. The cheese tasted like it was canned as well as the chicken. In the future, I am satisfied to pay more elsewhere. read more

Understanding hospitality, i wont rate low beacause this is a frequent for us since our daughter loves it. The food was great like always but the service can improve, once again i understand the customer service business and we are not picky customers at all but we didnt really get checked on. 10 minutes on an empty cup waiting for refill, needed more tortillas, extra set of utensils and napkins. We had a young lady help us tonight i wont say names. To be fair im not sure if she was busy on the other side of the bar and if that was the case just give us a heads up next time. Like i said we are not picky customers just improve your service a bit more please. I used to come here a lot for happy hour or a bite to eat for lunch when working in the area. Coming in on Sunday afternoon was different. The waitress seemed like she hated us even though we apologized for any diva requests we made (extra napkins, drink refills, to-go containers, extra salsas or chips) and her helper was super kind to us. We finally found our Mexican restaurant! We moved here 8 years ago and have been looking for "our place" since then. We fell in love with Que Pasa in Atascadero. We'd been on the search for a crispy beef taco. Most places only have soft tacos, and the few crispy tacos we found had stewed, wet, meat in them. Que Pasa's are flavorful shredded beef. I'm sure it's far from traditional Mexican food but it's exactly what we were looking for. A good crispy beef taco, cheesy enchilada, great rice and refried beans, and free chips and salsa as soon as you sit down. The restaurant is nicely decorated, very clean and service was great. Que Pasa que Pasa!?!?! By far the worst dinning experience in a long time. Arrived around 5pm to meet up with the ladies to take advantage of Happy Hour and Taco Tuesday. After being seated I was greeted within minutes by my waitress. I made it very clear there will be others joining who will need water, chips n salsa, drinks and food. It took her about 15 minutes finally to bring my chips n salsa but no drink?! All I ordered was a vodka soda!!!? It took another 5 minutes to get my basic as beach cocktail! What the hey man!?!? Finally My girlfriend's arrived and we were in search for our waitress clearly she could see my table was fully occupied! No sign of her!? Finally we were able to chase her down to place our drink orders. My friend recommended to place our food order since they took a while... Come to find out it took over an hour and a 1/2 to finally get our food. Not once the she come to our table to tell us about the delay are to ask us if we need anything else well we waited. It was like pulling teeth to get more chips and salsa. She would bring the salsa but not the chips?!?! Another friend joined us and placed her order. Within 10 minutes she got her food yet we still did not get our food?! Did our waitress come out to check on us you ask... Absolutely not!! Come to find out there was another table who had the same experience! They basically asked to cancel their food order and bounced. Was looking forward to having a meal after reading all the great reviews. We arrived and was told the kitchen was closed. It was 9:25pm. Bummed. Nothing we read said they closed their kitchen early. Told the waitress could they ask if they were willIng to cook something up since it wasn't even 9:30. She came back with a NOPE . I am picky with Mexican restaurants and went here because of a recommendation of a local. I was really pleasantly surprised how awesome it was. The food was amazing, with a selection that isn't at every menu of any Taqueria. The service was professional, quick and friendly (with a demotivated hostess, but she might have had a bad day). Since I've written my last review I have visited many more times. I usually opt to sit on the bar side, because I still maintain the service is better on that side. There is an older gentleman who is a great waiter on that side and really goes out of his way to make sure your drink is never empty, your chips are always refilled and you have everything you might need. The salsa is still one of my favorites in town, and you can't go wrong with their Happy Hour menu. Margaritas are the best in town. Love sitting on their outdoor patio on these 70 degree nights. read more
