As our waitress said the flan was pre-made in a container. It wasn't bad just wasn't good.

1/5 Assistance + Balance - Cleanliness - Deliciousness - Environment - Long Version Assistance+ the host told us to pick whatever table we wanted, our server did a great job keeping our drinks filled and taking our orders, even taking one order back to be replaced. Balance - Price was greater than Quantity/Quality. Cleanliness - Sticky tables mean that dirty rags were used, the bathroom was gross. Otherwise not too bad. Deliciousness - We asked for guacamole that was literally just avocado, they put lime juice in it. Ordered the carne asada with absolutely no spice just cooked meat, came out spicy as heck, with a flame blistered green onion and a flame kissed chili on top, also some sort of spicy seasoned butter clump. They took it back, came back with the same piece of meat that looked like it had just been brushed off and thrown on the grill for another second or two which made it tough as heck. The reason we know it's the same piece of meat, is we took pictures of it to show our friends where we were and then compared it when it came back and just laughed. The birria tacos had no flavor at all, ironic since birria and itself is a bunch of spices ground up mixed in with meat stewed for a while and then the juices are used to flavor things. To come the leftover meat to toss the dog. The flan was pretty flavorless. Our server told us it was prepackaged pre-made stuff so that's not on the restaurant. Severely disappointed since this used to be a place I would frequent and this is the second time I've had a bad review for it. How unfortunate... Environment - Although the decor hasn't really changed much, the music was not on, nothing was festive or exciting, seemed like a lot of decorations have been taken down and put away, but the bar still looked okay and had two TVs playing sports. I wasn't really aware it was a sports bar. When que pasa opened they touted having over 100 tequilas as one of their greatest advertisements. I don't know if it's still the case anymore, and the place is become extremely lackluster. All in all, the only thing that was decent was our service, and it wasn't great. I hate writing negative reviews.

The food is good , and I have to say, their drink selection is pretty awesome, too. Today, I really want to give a shoutout to the amazing service we got from our server, Emma. She was the only one working the floor, and even though she had a little help, she totally knocked it out of the park! Her cheerful personality and attentive nature really made our visit special. She's wonderful.

Very authentic in style atmosphere and waitress were on it! Food was pretty bland, no salsa to add to the food. Sauce on top just didn't have any flavor like I'm use to.

    Tortilla soup...fab!

Qué Pasa? This place has just what you need if you are stuck at Atascadero high school at an all day track meet in the cold--or a month from now, in the scorching heat. We always try not to order too much so I got the soup of the day and my wife got a veggie burrito. Both were excellent, and the kind waitress (excellent service) who recommended the soup was right. It was hearty and tasty, just a bit of cilantro and jalapeño, I think. With water, the bill came to 20 bucks. So, get the special soup of the day and then gorge yourself on chips and on Que Pasa's superb salsa! Even ordering only this, we had to take some of each dish home for next day's lunch. Yum!

First off, we've eaten here for about ten years every so often. The service has been pretty solid. Depending on the time of day or night you go, the staff always seems to be a mix of seasonal workers and seasoned vets. The chips and salsa are always good to start. And they are always patient with my boys when they order. The place is always relatively clean also. They can accommodate big parties as well. Oh yea, the margaritas are usually on point and delicious. It's a good spot to catch a game as well. I recommend giving them a try.

First off my husband and I were going to go to another Mexican restaurant. But my girlfriend who lives in Atascadero said we had to try this one as it was definitely better. My husband and I really like the food both of us had Carnitas dinners which is one of my favorites. Came with rice and beans, chips and salsa. I had a Cadillac margarita which was perfect. Our server was Leah and she was pretty busy. One of the bus boys he was tall with blond hair was very friendly and kept our water glasses filled. Came by and brought some containers to take home food. I also like sitting in a booth and it was a cute place very Mexican.

Great service as usual at Cielo. I arrived about 45 minutes before closing after a long…read moreday--working 5 hours in Palmdale and then driving up from San Diego--so I was definitely a bit delirious by the time I sat down. Despite coming in late, the staff was welcoming and attentive. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the sausage and broccolini gemelli was well executed. My only criticism is the use of burrata on the dish. Because it was placed directly on top of the hot pasta, it essentially cooked the burrata, which kind of misses the point of serving burrata in the first place. Rather than adding richness or contrast, it muted the flavors of the sausage and broccolini and made the dish taste a bit bland. I think a stronger cheese that holds up better to heat, such as Pecorino Romano, would have complemented the pasta much better. That said, the service was excellent and the pasta itself was cooked perfectly. Overall, a very good experience and I'd happily return.

This was my third visit to Cielo while visiting my hometown, and overall the food was good. The…read morewine selection was excellent and reasonably priced. The clams and mussels appetizer was outstanding, the carpaccio was excellent, and our server, Vanessa, was pleasant throughout most of the meal. Unfortunately, the entire experience was overshadowed by what happened after we paid. There were three people at our table. My husband and I paid the larger portion of the bill and left a 20% tip on our receipt. Our friend paid the remaining portion and left a $10 (20%) cash tip in the check folder. After paying, I went to the restroom before leaving. While I was in there, our server, Vanessa, approached me and asked, "Is there a reason you didn't tip me?" I was genuinely shocked. I immediately told her that I had tipped her. Rather than pausing to consider that there may have been a mistake, she continued insisting that I had not. I explained that I had left a tip on my receipt and that my friend had tipped as well. She then suggested that perhaps it was my friend who hadn't tipped. At that point, I returned to the table frustrated and confused and immediately asked my friend if she had left the cash tip. She confirmed that she had as I knew she did. When I told her and my husband what had just happened, she became visibly nervous and started questioning whether she had somehow made a mistake. Wanting to clear things up, I approached our server again when she returned to the dining room. Rather than simply checking her records and acknowledging the possibility of an error, she continued searching through receipts and attempting to prove that we had not tipped. At one point she even retrieved a receipt from the trash while continuing to insist there was a problem. The most upsetting part was not that she initially believed there had been a mistake. Mistakes happen. The upsetting part was how confident she was in confronting us and how unwilling she seemed to consider that she might be wrong, despite both of us repeatedly telling her that we had tipped. Eventually, a manager stepped in. To his credit, he handled the situation professionally, apologized immediately, and clearly understood why the interaction was inappropriate. My issue is not with the manager. My issue is that no customer should ever be confronted in a restroom about a tip. Even if we had not tipped, the interaction would still have been inappropriate. Tips are voluntary, not mandatory. As someone who has worked in the service industry myself, I understand how disappointing it can be when a table leaves little or no tip. What I have never done is follow a customer into a restroom and ask them to justify their tipping decision. What made this especially upsetting is that we did tip, and we tipped well. The food was good, and the manager handled the situation appropriately. Unfortunately, one employee's actions completely overshadowed the evening and left a bad taste after what had otherwise been an enjoyable meal. Instead of leaving talking about the food, wine, and time spent with friends, we left feeling accused and frustrated. Because of that experience, it is very unlikely that I will return.
