Very disappointed with our dinner tonight. I ordered Birria tacos with cheese. Didn't get the cheese and food was bland. I eventually got the cheese on the side but wasn't the same as I wanted it melted in my taco. Ordered Guacamole and wanted some heat. We asked for jalapeño peppers to add to the guacamole and they brought us big chunks instead of small pieces. Ugh... We won't be coming back. Always a bad experience every time I try. read more

Astonished! Probably the best word I can use to describe Que Pasa. My husband and I couldn't decide on what to have for supper. So my grandson suggested this Mexican restaurant called Que Pasa in Atascadero. So I did some research on google and saw all the amazing photos of margaritas, enchiladas, and more! We were so excited to try it out! When we got there the hostess was very sweet and gave us the exact information we needed. The wait wasn't long to be sited, it was fairly busy so that's understandable. Once we were seated we got some of the best chips and salsa we've ever had! I had to take some home. Our server was very friendly and helpful, he suggested the chicken kabob salad. When I tell you it was the best salad I have ever eaten, i would not be lying. I 100% recommend this restaurant. So sad. We've come here so many times and have been disappointed so many times! As a business owner I take reviews like this very seriously and had it not been for the countless times of horrible experiences prior to this one, I would never leave a review like this. We did very thoughtful research tonight about where to eat and upon discovering Que Pasa was open until 10, showed up at 8:20. We were dismissed brusquely upon entry and then told the kitchen was closed. I asked for the manager who first said we could stay and drink but that they closed early. Then in a not so friendly manner said we could order but we'd have to wait 40 minutes. At that point I responded with disappointment of how many times we've been frustrated with their establishment to which she responded "hopefully you won't be next time". Just stopped off while charging our car here to get a quick bite which could hardly have been further for the truth. We sat for 20 mins waiting for someone to even ask us what we want to drink but to no avail. As we were getting up to leave, having decided that our patience was exhausted, we see our waitress walking across the parking lot done with her shift and no one else when we went to return the menus even ready to take over duties. If you are happy to wait until you grow old, this might be for you, otherwise find some place else that gives a crap. read more

2 weeks ago , I went to Qué Pasa with my husband and brother in law , we got there at 9:40pm . They stopped serving at 10pm and we waited 5 minutes to be seated, we wanted to sit in the bar area so we did as soon as we got seated. We waited for so long for our server to attend us. Some couple got there at 9:55pm and they got their food by 10:05 and from 9:40 to 10:00pm we didn't get attended. I got so mad I ended up getting the server attention and ask if we could order and they said " oh no , we stop serving food at 10pm". I was so mad , angry. I will never go there again read more

We ordered the rib eye and cheese Enchilada we got our food to go since it was near closing time although I confirmed with the employee that everything would be made fresh and the kitchen wasn't closed down at that time he assured me everything was good so I proceeded we ordered $70 dinner and we got back to the house to eat and opened up our dinner (we ordered our ribeye steak medium well) they were rare steaks with so much seasoning on top that was extremely spicy you could hardly even taste the meat we had to put it in the microwave to cook a little further definitely would not recommend this place ever $70 down the drain. read more

If I was able to give this restaurant less than one star I would I just got off the phone with the police making a report because of their missed contact and harassment. Let me tell you what happened first of all I ordered peach margarita which is absolutely disgusting so I sent it right back after one sip I ordered a tequila sunrise which was nothing like a tequila sunrise should be so I took it to the bartender to ask what was going on and he apologize for not having the correct ingredients to make one of their premium cocktails that they were trying to charge me $15 for anyways I was willing to sweep that all under the table and then our entrées arrived and there was no avocado slices on mine the waitress failed to substitute my rice and beans and I had just had it so without taking one bite we get up to leave my boyfriend and his daughter and as we were leaving the waitress Lisa decided to get in my face screaming at me telling me that we had to pay our check I told her that I wasn't paying for something that I did not eat that was not what I ordered and I was leaving she replied with calling me drunk and told me she was calling 911 and had one of her employees follow me out to the parking lot to take my license plate number my daughters in tears never wants to go to another restaurant again and all I Gotta say is stay away from this place and I hope Lisa gets fired read more

Its been one of our favorites for years. But I believe its changed hands and it has changed. Last night was the final straw. Started off ok, IF you like what sounded like teen age Mexican RAP music, actually BLASTING, in the Bar. Which is also a large dining room. We like the sports bar atmosphere but we couldn't carry on a conversation because of it. When I asked our server if they could turn it down, she went back to check and came back and said "hows that?" I couldn't tell the difference. I asked again and she said "sorry, no"?? There was a 49ers playoff game in progress but they had some pre-recorded game playing, NO sound even? (In favor of the Rap music) We finished our meal and I asked for the manager who informed me that "the restaurant is privately owned and we can play what we want! " Then pointed to it and said "Its private property!" And had a surly attitude. I said "That's to bad, hope you enjoy it alone if you keep this up" Then I pointed out that there were only about 5 patrons in a room that can hold 50 and it was 7:00 on a Saturday night! I told him, "You wont be open for long if you keep this up". Plus we had to ask the waitress twice if we had a request. Customer Service is becoming an oxymoron! More and more! And In many businesses these days. Very sad. This is the largest Mexican eatery in A-town and has a full bar. We have to drive 40 miles round trip to get there but we were happy too. This is our go to place for delicious bloody marys... but only take on the challenge if you like them spicy. We also love the street tacos and the sea taco combo... 1 shrimp, 1 fish, and 1 octopus. I personally stick to the street tacos, but my husband swears by these tacos from the sea LOL. They have great happy hour specials and their staff and bar tenders are always so attentive. We LOVE their salsa and fresh guacamole & chips!! Isn't that what everyone who goes for Mexican food looks for?? Went on a Sunday afternoon. Only 1 waitress for the dining room, which, through no fault of her own, equated to SLOW service...even when trying to pay our bill, we gave up waiting for her to return to our table to pick up the credit card, so we went to the front desk. That didn't hurry things along at all. The front desk gal gave our credit card to our waitress in the back of the dining room, and we continued to wait and wait until she was available to run our credit card. We waited about 20 minutes before the waitress came to take our order and another 30 minutes for our food to arrive. Regarding the food. It's is high price "meh". I was charged $2 for a tablespoon of guacamole, $2 for a tablespoon of sour cream, $2 for some additional sauce, since the red sauce on my burrito dried up, $2 to add some rice in the burrito, and $2 more for carne asada, instead of just shredded beef. My $10 burrito turned into a $20 burrito. Maybe there was another burrito on the menu that contained all of those ingredients that the waitress could have recommended. Could have saved me $10? Also, the red sauce tastes exactly like unconstituted Tomato soup from a can. The salsa tastes like hot spaghetti sauce...but, the chips are good. The ambiance is cute, but very dark lighting. It is difficult to see the menu at your table without a flashlight. Would we go back? No. It feels like Americans trying to "fake" a Mexican Restaurant. read more

We came in on a Tuesday shortly after they opened at 11. There were only a couple people on the patio at that time. We chose to sit in the dining room. First thing I noticed are that the tables are small...not that that makes a difference, but for our party of 4, it was a bit cramped. The food was really good...chips & salsa were really good...asked for a bigger bowl of salsa My husband and I both had the gourmet burrito, one steak, one chicken. This was a big burrito (not giant, but big) and it was delicious. The meat was tender and the molcajete salsa had the perfect flavor. My in-laws both had the combination plates with tacos & enchiladas. They were pleased with their lunch and very satisfied with the portion. Definitely worth a try if you're in town! So we go ahead and eat , we had just about finished our meal and no one came back to let us know anything ! My daughter had to leave for another appt . The taco finally shows up .. I look for a great Mexican restaurant in every town I go to. The first requirement is a good, flavorful salsa that isn't too hot. This is it! 1 star. Then a good Cadillac Margarita. Another star. I'll admit I order another shot of Grand Marnier. Next the food. We shared the chicken fajita. The sauce is awesome and the veggies were great. They did forget mushrooms. But overall, well done. Since their location in SLO closed I have missed going and think I like this place more since I've been back a few times. They still have the best horchata I can think of and the chips and salsa are great. The fresh lunch bowls they make are good and the refried beans are some of my favorite. I have been to this place numerous times and was shocked at how badly it has gotten. We arrived at 4:30 pm. The bar had 4 people and there were 5 tables seated in dining when we arrived. After waiting 15 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us a female server came by and said, "I'll get your drinks going since he didn't make it by yet". She gave no indication she was our server. Drinks were ordered and another 10-15 minutes later they were delivered by someone else. In the meantime, three tables emptied and four tables were seated. All four new tables had their orders taken, and food was being delivered. Another person was helping bring out the food. We asked if he knew who our server was and he said a female name. We asked if he would let her know we were still waiting to order. Another 15 minutes while more tables were served or left. Asked the same person if he could get us the manager, we wanted to pay for our drinks and would be leaving. He let us again know how busy "?" was with the other tables. Instead of the manager, the female server who had been working around us for an hour serving everyone else came back with a ticket announcing she had "comped it" and explaining how busy she was, how short-staffed they were and she did the best she could. The comp was accepted but without the lame apology for having passed over us while waiting on tables on all sides of us and across the room even those who arrived 1/2 hour to 45 minutes after we did. The extra time gave us a chance to look around the restaurant and notice the lack of cleanliness which was another reason for our decision to leave without eating there. The floors, under tables, chairs, and booth seats, all had food remains. Only table tops were being quickly wiped at in turnover. I shudder to think what the kitchen looks like. read more

This is a great place to stop by for dinner after catching a movie next door! First thing I noticed when I walked in was the great smells. It was obvious something delicious was cooking. My friend and I were seated quickly and given menus. Everything look so good, it was hard to choose! Finally, I opted for a carne asada plate, and my friend got carnitas. We both ordered horchata. Service was prompt and friendly all night. The food itself is enormous! Way too much for a single person to eat a plate. And especially because my friend and I were at a tiny table for two, we barely had enough room for our plates, tortillas, chips and drinks. The horchata was huge and nicely spiced. My carne asada was delicious and well-cooked, and my friend's carnitas smelled great. The rice was a little bland, but fine when mixed with beans and meat. The only drawback was the size. It's nice to get a lot, especially since this was a $15 plate, but there's no way I could finish it and I was uncomfortable by the end even trying to make a dent. But it was all tasty, and as long as I can bring home leftovers, I'll give them another visit! read more

As my boyfriend and I departed from our trip to San Luis Obispo, we came to a point where the freeways were changing into different interstates and somehow took the wrong direction. When we figured out that we needed to exit off the freeway to get back to where we were going, we found ourselves in the town of Atascadero. Because it was about lunch time and we were hungry anyway, we decided to give this place a try. When we entered, the hostess greeted us and we chose the option of dining out in the patio. It was a warm and beautiful day out, so eating outdoors always makes it more pleasant. Our waiter, Oscar attended to us in a prompt and professional manner. Water was poured and menus handed to us right away. After given some time to decide, he returned and answered our questions about their food. Ahi tuna was one of the featured meals. So my boyfriend ordered the seared Ahi tuna salad, while I got the Ahi tuna tacos that included rice and a small salad. Because I requested that my tuna be cooked well done, I had to wait a little longer for my food, which was fine with me. We were in no rush. During our wait, the manager checked on us at least twice and Oscar chatted with us from time to time. He was very helpful in giving us directions to get back on the freeway and even told us about a better route that was less complicated and shortened some driving time. The food was prepared, in my opinion, perfectly! We both enjoyed our meals immensely! The flavor combinations were delicious to say the least, not to mention arriving in an appetizing presentation on the plates! My bf Joe K, still hasn't stopped talking about how good that salad was!
