We really enjoyed our first visit here. You order at the counter, and they bring your food to you. Chips & salsa are complimentary. Prices were reasonable and portion sizes were perfect; not too much, and not too little. I had the birria burrito bowl, minus salsa & onions. They prepared it exactly as I asked. It was served in a real bowl, layers of Mexican goodness. I would definitely have this again. My wife ordered two black bean tacos. They are authentic street-type tacos; this ain't Taco Bell! She said they were well seasoned and had more of those layers of good stuff. I liked that they had the Dodgers game on the TV, but that wouldn't have been a deal breaker. We will come back!

We love Garcia's! The food is always consistent, delicious and reasonably priced! The staff are friendly and the restaurant is open and clean. An easy stop for any meal!

We dropped in after disk golf ten minutes before closing and ordered to go and they were willing to take our order happily and get us our food. As always, the place was clean and the chips and salsa bar we stocked up and tasty. We were able to eat outside and the food was great. Love this place. Thank you Garcia's!

Ordered a couple of ala carte items. Haven't been to the new location. As most of you regulars know most is a fave of yours. The place was very clean with plenty of tables, salsa bar and a real good women's restroom. The food is served on thick, hard plastic plates. I don't believe because of the rainy day as kitchens are always hot, the plates are just at the above cold level, warm would be nice and kept in a warmer. The food was tasty, could of been hotter with the cheese melted more like burn your mouth like other places that use potholders to carry them. Yes, I know it is plastic they could be warm.

Moved to AG in '95. Pismo had Tio Alberto's. For all South County, Garcia's is just like it. Large, great for the go, burritos! I was told that they are related and the salsa's, chips, rice, are the same. Garcia's used to be in a little hole-in-the-wall on EL Camino. Now, they are a little further down and took over an old bank. Now they have plenty of seating inside and out. Very clean. They are always very outgoing and deliver awesome service. I ordered the Lg Pollo Verde Burrito, no beans. The burrito was actually a little small compared to what it normally is. Huge tortilla, fluffy rice, with a little sweetness/bite from carrots and peas in it. The cheese is melted. I wish they put a little more cheese. The Pollo Verde is always very flavorful, salty, tangy, juicy, smokey, vinegary and acidity. Fresh chopped white onion and cilantro add freshness, bite, and that beautiful fragrance that lets you taste the tradition. I wish the chips were cooked to order, instead on a warming tray. The homemade salsa's are great, all levels of heat. The price now is a little steep, my burrito was +$18. *Would be 5/5 if the burritos sizes were more consistent, a little more cheese always and the chips were fresh.*

    Gigantic burrito.

My aunt, uncle, cousin, wife and I stopped by for lunch on a Thursday around noon. The place is easy to find located in an old bank building complete with drive-up windows that are no longer in use. We joked that they could deliver burritos through the vacuum tubes. The dining room was busy but several tables were open for us to pick from. Order at the counter, grab some chips and salsa and have a seat. Our food came out in a reasonable timeframe. I got a single pastor (pork) soft taco combination. The taco was double soft shell and stuffed with meat. I was easily able to build two tacos out of the one served to me. They give you a pile of shredded lettuce, chopped tomato and dollops of sour cream to complete the assembly. My pork taco was ok but not particularly tasty. Perhaps adding some pineapple to it would have helped. The refried beans were great though and the rice good too. The staff working here were pleasant. The dining room was clean and they had two large TVs on showing soccer er football games.

The food and the service are utterly amazing! The salsa bar doesn't hurt either! I especially like their chorizo breakfast burritos!

My favorite burritos in A-Town! I've been to a few other spots in the area, but Garcia's will always be my go-to spot.

The meat was very tender and the chili sauce that was in it was not spicy but had a good flavor. The beans and rice gave it a great touch cause they both had a really good flavor as well. It came with either corn or flour tortillas which I ordered the corn tortillas which were very soft and tasted homemade. I will definitely eat there again when I'm in town. Wondering if they've stopped seasoning their meat in order to cater to the demographic here in Atascadero.... Especially the carne asada I mean apart from having so much fatty meat, it had no flavor. The service is always great too, just a little disappointing. When I'm talking about flavor, especially for $4 a taco, I expect a hint of garlic, salt, pepper, lime, etc. I expect the meat to be marinated and flavorful. Maybe they already do that, given they do sell amazing carne preparada, but the hot food just hasn't been the same for the last 3-4 times I've gone. I like supporting local mexican businesses so I continue to go but today might've been my last. I don't think I'll be driving from Slo to Suprema Meat Market for their hot food again. The cold and prepared meats are of high quality though so this review is strictly for the hot food. I understand that they need to stay competitive with the market, but the total for 5 bite sized tacos was $22.... That's insane. For $4 a taco, I just expect more. I hope they review this and implement some change! I see that the owner reached out and I appreciate his response. Maybe I'll give it a try again.

A friendly greeting upon arrival. We had made a reservation for our party of five for a Tuesday night dinner of friends. It was a warm evening and the patio doors were open. At about 80 degrees outside, the interior was a little warm; we should have moved to the cute side patio. The menu is Latin fusion, described to us by our server as dishes from across Mexico, South America, and other parts of Central America. The menu has many choices from appetizers, chicken, pork, seafood, and vegetarian + vegan sections. There's also a full page of cocktails ($11), $6 beer (bottled), and wine. The Black Cadillac Margarita stood out for its black color (from powdered charcoal, which gave it an earthy, smoky note) and silver tequila. The other margaritas were reposado tequila based and flavored with the accordant flavored syrup. The Cure cocktail was also a standout, with house-infused watermelon tequila ($11). Wines by the glass or bottle (glasses were $12 for whites or rose, $11 for reds). Entrees came with a small, very fresh side salad or soup (last night's soup was a creamy corn and jalapeño, which was exquisite). Many of the menu items are titled with a type of liquor (for example, Jim Beam Enchiladas, Single Malt Seafood Tacos), which is a thematic choice and does not indicate inclusion of said liquor in the recipe. Everyone was happy with their entrees, which had an appetizing presentation and generous portion. Our server let us know that everything on menu was gluten free except for the flour tortillas (but there were gluten-free corn tortillas as well). I was very happy with my "Dom Perignon Chile Relleno" - a large poblano chile stuffed with shrimp and corn kernels in a cheesy sauce), battered in cornmeal and deep fried, with chopped fresh veggies, crumbled queso fresco, and a chipotle sauce (I asked for that on the side; it was delicious), $24.95. It comes on a bed of white rice or papas chorizo (roasted, mashed potato with chorizo crumbles - yay for that!). The Asombroso Sopas were also a hit (ordered with carne asada, you also had the choice of chicken or al pastor, $22.95). The vegan potato tacos (3 tacos, $18.95) were tossed in a cilantro sauce. The El Charro pork enchiladas came with beans and white rice and were a generous portion ($19.95). The service was 5/5 attentive, competent, and friendly. We lingered after paying the bill as no one was waiting for a table and our server continued to check on us and welcomed the lingering - true Latin style! I plan to return to try the sopas and take The Cure watermelon-infused tequila cocktail with Tajin rim) before the summer is through!
