I had the Bistec a Caballo and an Arepa with chicharron! Also had a refreshing guava drink. The service was quick and attentive. The food was very good and homey. The beef was a little dry but the flavor made up for it. I definitely will be back to try more foods!

I'll keep it short, food was good, service was fine, my husband was very happy that he found a Colombian restaurant to eat while we were visiting, but I was very disappointed to see in my bill a charge for a single can of coke for $8. El jugo de maracuyá was $4.50, which it's fine, but not $8 for a soda. Make sure you check your bill prior to paying. "Me vieron la cara" I should have known better since I'm Colombian.

If you want an authentic Colombian restaurant and store this is the place!!!! The owners are amazing and the service is so good. They will help you with recipes and ordering. This food brought so many memories of being young and having Colombian food. The atmosphere is quiet and good for groups. Plan on being adventurous with your ordering, the food was so tasty and tastes like home cooking.

Authentic DELICIOUS Colombian food. Our server was great! They have a grocery store next door where you can take some things home. They also sell the empanadas frozen to take home and put in the air fryer. I had the limonada to drink, and a chicken and a beef empanada to start. Both hot, fresh and good. I had the arroz con pollo and it was good, flavorful, tender meat and the slaw that came on the side was even good. I definitely plan to come back and try some other dishes.

This was a great whole in the wall Colombian restaurant. We are Colombian and we're very excited to try this place. We ordered several items on the menu and all were delicious! They even have a small grocery store with frozen premade food such as arepas, tamales and empeñadas. We loaded up and took some home. I was barely able to fit everything in the freezer. It's a hit far in Mesa but worth the trip. We will make this a monthly visit to get our fix.

I'm in heaven!! I'm so excited to have found a Colombian restaurant. Even if it's a 40min drive from home, it's totally worth it! From the traditional Colombian decor, to the store filled with all the necessities to make our traditional Colombian dishes, this is an amazing find! I was also excited to see they actually had VEGAN options on the menu! I always just end up ordering a bunch of sides when I visit Colombian restaurants back home, so I was excited to be able to order an actual dish! We ordered: Mango con Leche and Mora con Agua bebidas (fresh and delicious); pan de Bono, Empanadas de papa, carne, y Pollo (potato, beef and chicken). Hubby ordered the Bandeja Paisa, my cousin ordered the Sopa de costilla, and I got the vegan Cazuela de Frijoles, a side of yuca and an arepa con queso. Everything was absolutely delicious and brought me back to eating with my family back in NY. The staff is all friendly and speaks Spanish and English, and the food was spectacular. We will be back for sure, and I will be coming back to stock up on ingredients from the store!

This is one of two Colombian restaurants in PHX. It is located on Main St in Mesa. We went here because we have a Colombian friend who recommended and it was Great! Just remember to check the hours because they close a little early, like on Sunday at 6pm. When you look at the menu, you will not see things you expect or recognize. The servers and workers were very friendly and helpful. We got the La Tiendita Platter (see photo) since it was named after the restaurant. Bandeja Paisa was really good, its a sample of a few different things including pork belly, sausage, ground beef, and plantains. I would recommend this for sure. Arroz con Camarones - rice with shrimp was good and had a Cajun flavor to it. Apparently this is common along the coastal areas of Colombia. Arroz con Pollo - rice with chicken was excellent. This was my favorite one. The rice had a different flavor to it, different from the rice with shrimp. It wasnt Cajun like but really good. It did not have alot of protein in it like Bandeja Paisa but the taste was very new. The blood sausage and empanadas (see photos) was good as well. Very nice workers there. They also have a small grocery area attached to the restaurant (see photos). Definitely will be back for the Arroz con Pollo and Bandeja Paisa as well as to try out some other things.

Cozy little place. Food was great, got the Bandeja Paisa. Everything was cooked and seasoned well. Server took some time to come even though they weren't busy had to call them over to order then again to pay.

Glad I arrived when I did because several groups came in after seating myself. It looks like street parking and adjacent businesses have spaces which might be available otherwise. Atmosphere 3/5 Although I enjoyed the artwork, this is essentially a small fast food like restaurant. Very small dining room with awful acoustics. Guests of more than two bring the conversation level fairly high and the group of five who arrived behind me had the place uncomfortably loud. It reminded me of my ASU Chuck Box days. Service 4/5 Being my first visit I wish there could have been more time to have the Menu selections explained. I defaulted to my order takers recommendations. As it turned out those suggestions were nice. Food 5/5 I choose the Arroz Con Pollo Jalapeño & Ham popper Empanada Sopa Verde The Aaroz Con Pollo was unique, fresh and delicious. Interesting creation with exciting flavors. I would order this again. Great portion. The Jalapeños & Ham pooper Empanada was on the small side when compared to Mexican bakeries I purchased them at. That said the selections here are many and unique! Mine was outstanding. The Jalapeño popper and ham in their perfectly cooked pastry complimented each other so well, I was not disappointed with this recommendation and would order this again! Sopa Verde was a great portion. It included premium garden vegetables including spinach, rice, alvacado, peas, fresh white chicken meat and a salsa verde that added another flavor. This was a wonderful palette treat and another item I would order again. For me Food is this restaurants strong point. Atmosphere driven by acoustics not as much. We tried the following: -Empanada Pabellon with Pernil: loved the plantains inside mixed the pork! -Empanada Colombiana Beef: good -Pollo and mango tostones: the tostones itself were a bit tough to chew on -Ceviche mixto: I've never had fried calamari with ceviche but it was nice and refreshing mixed with it! -Piña Tiradito: presentation was lovely and tasted just as great! I can never taste the fruit or make out the flavors for ciders and I'm a sucker for anything guava so was excited for the Sazon guava hibiscus cider, and while it was nice, sadly couldn't make out the flavors. Overall, cute space with bites to share and we'll be back as the burritos sounded good as well.

For $16, you get four mixed empanadas of your choice. That's a good deal, I think. But, the empanadas were on the smaller side. The owner was very friendly and informative and let us know these empanadas are made in the Columbian style. She also mentioned she lived in Mexico for many years and learned to make empanadas the Mexican way and combined some of those flavors also. The empanadas I had were all very tasty and I liked the salsa verde that came with the empanadas. I had the traditional (had a kick to it) and arroz con pollo. I gave Sherpa the calentado and chorizo ones, but no report back if they were good lol. My only gripe here is that the empanadas were a little more greasy than I usually like. On their website and in photos, they say their empanadas are air fried, but I think I recall seeing oil fryers outdoors yesterday. I try to keep fried foods to a limit as I don't always feel great after eating a greasy meal. And I have to maintain a svelte physique, just kidding there. Diabetes and heart disease run in my family, so I am very mindful of what I put into my temple. I also ate these after climbing as there is no way I could have had these empanadas in my stomach prior. Also interesting is that the vegetarian and vegan ones were kind of food color green. I guess you need to be able to differentiate them, but the color was off-putting. I'd give this place another try but would prefer baked empanadas. I love empanadas, just please hold the grease.

The restaurant is a very good size with lots of room and tables available. The decor is that of PR culture which is very colorful and bright. We started off with canoa which is a plantain stuffed with ground beef and cheese. It was very hot and delicious! For our "platos principals" (main entrees) I had the pechuga de pollo (chicken breast with grilled onions) with mofongo as my side (also comes with a side salad). It was very tasty and not dry at all. BFF had the pernil (pulled pork) with arroz con gandules (rice with pigeon peas) as his side which also came with a side salad. For dessert we shared the tembleque which is a coconut pudding but not in the traditional sense of pudding (more like a jelly texture). BFF also ordered coquito (holiday rum drink) & apparently our server (Sophia) omitted the rum so the owner came by and offered a fresh glass. Speaking of, everything was wonderful except that Sophia seemed to have a bit of a poor attitude as she wasn't too friendly. I'd like to give her the benefit of the doubt as perhaps she wasn't feeling well but out of the corner of my eye she had this almost "eyeroll" look. Perhaps she just didn't want to be there (she was friendly upon us leaving and thanked us). Anyway, I highly recommend this establishment. Both food and ambience was great and the service was too.
