A clean and modern one-floor library that has nice decor and ambiance and seems like a good place to cool off or study. They have a little store and a seed library (two packets a month), as well as a decent selection of books, movies and other materials. Fair-to- good selection of books on site, but many books can be special-ordered from one of the other Maricopa County libraries. Librarians are knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. The security guard, Ron is rude and does not respect the privacy of patrons using the study rooms. I scheduled a study room from 7-8pm and Ron came in abruptly and told myself and my guests to leave. I asked him to be respectful and knock before walking in on our conversation and his response was, "it's not going to happen. You need to leave." The library's posted close time is 8pm. This is not the only run in I've had with Ron, the security guard. I've been a patron of the library for 5 years and I do not feel comfortable coming to the library, nor do my friends. If you have any grievances or experience any harassment from staff at this library, especially the security guard, Ron, I will not advise contacting the library manager, Jenn Lopez. You may have your library privileges revoked just I did today. I have had multiple interactions with the security guard that I would describe as "creepy" and "bullying." He is very intrusive, prying and rude. He gossips with the librarians about patrons using the study rooms and had already shared lies about me abusing the library privileges before I even spoke to the manager. She also was not very understanding or compassionate but very abrasive and accusatory, not wanting to hear about my complaint. This library is loud for what is supposed to be a quiet refuge to enjoy reading or get some work done without distractions. Up until this library hired a security guard, I found the librarians friendly and helpful. Maybe security should focus on the vagrants sleeping outside the library bathrooms rather and harassing patrons using the library for the intended purpose. read more

The library is pretty small and it doesn't have a big selection, but any time I request a book, they manage to get me a copy. This review is more for the bookstore attached to the library. You can get so many books for a dollar or two. It's my favorite place to go to and see what I can find. Came to this Library for the first time with my kids. The older woman behind the desk asked if my address was current on my ID, I replied," no, we just moved." She proceeded to explain that she had to have a utility bill and that my wife's ID with our address would not work because, " marriage doesn't matter " After she was done telling us that marriage doesn't matter, she proceeded to tell us a story about why and how some husband came in years ago... I had to stop her as my 8 year old was listening. This right here is why people lie, we create that in our society; instead of helping a little girl get access to books. So now, I'll go back tomorrow and magically my address will be accurate. Hilarious. read more

What a great library. Easy access with plenty of nearby parking. All types of media (beyond books) available to check out with your library card. I saw Blu-rays/DVDs, CDs, etc. There's an awesome kids section for all ages of readers. My 7 year old was in book heaven looking through all of her options. There's a very healthy balance of fiction and non-fiction with clearly marked areas telling you what is where. You can self check or get help at the librarians counter when you have what you need. There's an easy access drop off outdoors to avoid any lines inside when you are ready to bring the books back. I saw that there's a lot of community classes and fun events offered at this library so make sure to check the bulletin board near the entrance. Library cards are good for 1 year and are really easy to setup if you're a resident of QC. Bring a utility bill to go even faster. Staff is super friendly and quite helpful. There are recommendations of good reads everywhere, which is helpful if you just don't know what you want. read more

Love this library! Jen met me yesterday at the front desk and was incredibly helpful. The branch manager (sadly, I didn't get her name) was also amazing, going out of her way to help me. In the midst of whatever festival was going on yesterday, it was difficult to find a parking place. I was eventually able to obtain the Covid tests- something made so much easier by the helpfulness of these two women. This library is staffed by very professional, caring people. What an AWESOME library! My home branch library has been Scottsdale Civic Center since the late 1990s. I have visited Phoenix Library once and it was so close to closing time I didn't ever get a chance to explore. I am not saying those libraries aren't good at all. What I am saying is that this branch is very obviously newer than those two. I took the kid there specifically to work on a school project, I had never been before and wasn't sure it would even work out. It did though. We only had about 1/2 an hour before they closed and I was hoping to utilize their computer to assist with the presentation. The branch is big and open. I mean, space wise it is open. They have a crazy number of computers to use which was great and print options that are available which was also great. The lady at the front was very helpful and we managed to get a new library card (required for computer usage) and check it out, kind of... They do have a great deal of classes and things to do so, it would be worth checking them out online to see what the calendar looks like. I am so glad there is a good library around. read more

This is an awesome library. The grounds are pretty. It's smaller indoors than expected but very bright and clean. We enjoy toddler time but you must come early to be in line for a ticket. They go fast, so get here early. read more

I agree with everyone, how stupid to build a library right at basically the border of the maricopa county line?! But let me tell ya how to work the system, if u moved from a mcpa county address to pinal, keep some of your old mail, old license, use that when u register! Ive been using that for 4 years now haha! OR just rent yourself a postal box and get some mail sent there (mcpa county) if u can rent one cheaply for a month, or use a friends address! Think outside the box people! read more

Great library in the queen creek area. They have many rooms to rent as well. The rooms are in great shape and really well taken care of. Clean and affordable and very modern looking. Great selection of books and plenty of parking available. Located in downtown queen creek and close to many shops. Nice little find! read more

When we moved to San Tan Valley in October 2009, I didn't realize how SOL I was as an avid reader. A sad fact about San Tan Valley/Pinal County is the sheer lack of libraries. The closest libraries to our new house were the Apache Junction library (yuck and talk about a lousy selection) or Florence (a 30+ minute drive). Finally, after 5 months of whining about the Pinal County library situation and the fact that the Queen Creek Library is only 5 miles from our house but that I couldn't use it without paying a yearly fee of $50, I sucked it up and paid the fee. The Maricopa County Library District (of which Queen Creek Library is a part) rocks! There are 17 libraries across Maricopa that this District runs and you can have any book, audiobook, movie, CD, etc transferred to your home library for no charge. Although the QC Library isn't that large, the potential list of titles you can have transferred is awe-inspiring. I also recommend checking out the book shop inside the library as they have a great selection of lightly used books for super cheap. The staff is very friendly! The building itself is very beautiful and they have chairs and couches scattered throughout for lounging and reading. read more

The one downfall is I have to pay to go to this one, it's the closest one to me and my neighbors across the street don't have to pay but I have to pay $50 a year! It's a bummer! read more

This library stinks! It is so loud! Little kids running everywhere, loud adults standing everywhere chatting and talking loudly, and rude librarians who are no help and have no control and even participating in the chit chat. Its more like a playground than a library for reading and studying. So sad my tax dollars are wasted here. read more

I have loved the Queen Creek library for years. My oldest son was a teen tech volunteer. I am a member of the "Friends of Queen Creek Libraries" we donate and buy books from the store frequently. Unfortunately now that the library is not charging late fees they are charging for full book prices for any reason they can come up with. I returned a book that my son had checked out. At no time was I near coffee, the book with others was dry when I returned it. They charged him $25 saying the book was wet upon return and had coffee spilled on it. I would have felt if the book was wet. When he went to talk to them in person they told him he would be turned into a collection agency if he did not pay for the book. Guess we will no longer be making donations to the library or volunteering there. read more

Adult Night QC Library started something new in September, first Friday of the month is Adult Night. Different events for each month. This month was a murder mystery with the option of dressing up (oodles of fun, since it was zombie themed). Everyone that showed up was given a character to play if they so chose, we were about 20-25 people and had a blast. Only disappointing issue is people signing up and then not bothering to show. Usually not a thing to worry about, but with a murder mystery, you need all the characters. thanks a million for putting on something to look forward to. Next month is Blind Taste Testing. read more

I agree with the former. We also moved to San Tan Valley. However, we moved in Jan 2007. We were very excited about the Queen Creek library and we went only to discover we needed to pay. This library was funded by a Federal grant. Their current operations may be funded by taxes but the initial funding for the library did come from a rather large Federal grant - at least according to the Insider magazine. However, we cannot use the library without paying. We opted to try these other offerings: Florence library, a small room with very little selection Coolidge library, a little better but again a distance from the house Johnson Community library - This is not a library. I believe I have as many books in my garage. The clerk did not know what a periodical was when I asked for the periodicals section and they stated we took a book out that we did not. The staff does not consist of librarians and they really do not know what they are doing. We would never consider AJ. Scary area and have encountered/witnessed some discrimination against Asians, Hispanics and African Americans there first hand. Read my review about Mediacom for more info on AJ! read more

Got turned away from story time because it was for preschoolers and they "fill up" oh but I was invited back for baby time on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We love this library! We are avid readers and find a great selection of nonfiction and fiction, with new titles weekly. The library system also will get you a book from another library if it's not at this branch. Very large DVD section also. Many children's books, including readers. Have not attended any programs here, but they have quite a few. The library building is rather new and very nice. There is also a Friends of the Library used book store, which I patronize quite regularly. If you don't live in Maricopa County (i.e., you live in San Tan Valley), you have to pay to join this library. read more

My family and I love to read and used to frequent this library when it was first opened. Lately it was just gone down hill. Other than it's great location if you are lucky enough to live in the Maricopa side of the county line. It has a reasonable selection of books/movies and kid related programs. Main issues are things like; dust, dirty and service. The shelves, building, books, are just filthy dirty. They also have a less extensive selection and applicable programs like testing, language, tutoring. Machineries also always seem to be malfunctioning here too. No printer, wifi or phones working they tell us on a regular bases. The City libraries are definitely worth the drive and best of all, they do not make a fuss as to what's ones street address. City of Chandler is not that far up the road at Basha High and is excellent all-round and more so super clean. read more

I was excited to go to this new library! I am a San Tan resident but I was not happy about the $50 fee. So, I went to Florence, just down the road from San Tan Valley. Boy~~ was I surprised! Brand new state of the art library, got a library card, no fee, smart people working behind the desk and any book you want. read more

I have always enjoyed going to this library. I love all their free events and most of the staff is friendly. If you're doing work on the computer, but aren't completely computer literate, ask any staff member for help except the petite lady with the glasses, short coifed hair who is about in her early 60's. She tends to get a little snooty about computer questions and this has happened a couple times. Ask any other staff member, though, and you should be good. I too live in san tan valley & my daughter & 2 granddaughters have moved in with me while she is going through a divorce. We all tried to go to the closest library & queen creek wanted a fee from all of us. I do not think it is fair & that we are being neglected the right to have the convenience of a library close by. Is there a petition we can start or something we can do?? read more
