Located in SanTan Village Parkway is this Barnes & Noble. Parking is shared, and can be tricky to maneuver if the other businesses are busy. This is one of the few that I know are two stories, so that's very neat! Wide array of options between books, entertainment, mugs, totes, and so much more! Price points can be higher than other stores, but you are buying new. Additionally, there is a Proudly Brew Starbucks location if you want a coffee/tea while you shop. A magical land of books... in the wild! We don't have many big chain bookstores on the Islands, so walking into this Barnes & Noble felt a little like stumbling into a mythical creature ......part library, part gift shop, part cozy reading sanctuary... and honestly, I was thrilled. Rows and rows of books as far as the eye can see .....fiction, travel, cookbooks, self-help, "I swear I'm going to start reading again" books .....all of them calling my name. The café smelled like coffee and good intentions, the aisles were tidy, and every corner whispered, "Yes... you do need another book." And I listened. The vibe is calm, nostalgic, and slightly dangerous for anyone with weak willpower and a wallet. The staff is friendly, the store is clean, and there are so many fun extras ...journals, puzzles, gifts, and all the things you didn't know you needed until you saw them. In a world of screens and scrolling, this place feels like a tiny victory for book lovers everywhere. Bottom line: Barnes & Noble is a rare sight for us and a beautiful one. We love Barnes and noble. Everyone is always friendly. And it's always clean. There is also a great selection of books. And I feel the value for those books are an okay deal. But we're surprised and disappointed to see that the Spanish children's books were just thrown in with adult books. Why would they not put the Spanish kids books with the other kids books? Why is the selection so small now? They used to have double the amount of Spanish kids books, yet now hardly any. read more

I don't often venture much into B&N anymore as I like to give business to independent bookstores and will often also buy books online, but today I felt like wandering in for a bit to do some "research" on current books, etc. for sale. This B&N has an impressive new non fiction and fiction sections and lots of variety to choose from! I was stoked to see a lot of very good books on display. I then wandered into the magazine section and this I think is one of the gems of this bookstore. A lot of bookstores just don't have magazine sections anymore and I like that this B&N still offers up many genres of magazines to keep you busy! I like the current event, travel, food, art, science and nature magazines on selection here! While I don't get in here too often, I do enjoy a browse here every so often. If you like magazines, this is a great spot for you. They have tons of gift selections here too and a cafe if you need a nice coffee or tea while you check out books and other items! read more

Hands down the best Barnes and Noble location I've stepped foot in. This two story location is huge. It includes escalators and an elevator. The options are vast from books to LEGO. Manga and children's items. It of course includes the small coffee cafe as well. The store was clean and employees friendly. I'm glad that the humans didn't get rid of all book stores because this brand has been my go-to for years!!! It is the perfect place to people watch, read a book or magazine on a corner bench(first come first serve) and sip on a refreshing beverage from the Starbucks located on the side, inside of the store. It's also a great place to pick up gifts as I went to do and found that I'm better off getting gift cards because I'll want to purchase almost everything in the store if it were up to me I didn't realize that so many magazines were still being published in this day and age which is good for those of us who still like actual paper and turning pages. In any case, there's plenty of free parking and tons of shopping and eating establishments surrounding the area. My favorite BN in Arizona. In spring or fall, you must go up the second floor and look out the windows. It's the most delightful view! They used to have tables and chairs up there too but it seems like they have got rid of them completely. I wish they put them back near the windows. I used to go to Barnes & Noble in West LA in the 90s and sit for hours reading and buying coffees. The Cafe staff here were not friendly and professional like they always are at real Starbucks. They would not accept a Starbucks card for payment and would not accept the SB app for refills. The people "working" there definitely ain't going to get cast in any movies/tv. The fact is looks matter in these jobs and these businesses should employ people that don't gross out customers. Not recommended. read more

It's my least favorite bookstore to go to in the state. It's selections are pitiful and prices are outrageous. When you have books marked up 10-15 even $20 - how do you expect me to buy anything there at all? I've stopped going there all together and drive the extra miles to go to a proper bookstore at the Phoenix Gallery on Indian School rd and around 32nd st. Since Toys R Us went out of business, B&N is THE best place to find specialty or hard-to-find toys and games. We found Bakugan Evolution, different Minecraft Legos, and really cool board games we'd never heard of before!!! It's a great place for curated and top recommended STEM toys!!! read more

The Cafe is an excellent idea in theory, but lacks heavily in execution. Nobody there seems to understand which items go to who, and the left hand isn't talking to the right. Parking is rarely fun, but that's not their fault. Staff is friendly and helpful. The selection is great and I really appreciate that if they don't have a book in stock, they will order it for you. Only thing preventing 4 stars is the fact that the overwhelming majority of their stock is suggested retail price in a a day and age where I can get most of my books, manga, graphic novels etc for at least 20% less than that. read more

Do not purchase jigsaw puzzles from Barnes & Noble. Their policy is that you cannot return a puzzle no matter how defective it is. My 1000-piece puzzle had 5 duplicate pieces and 10 missing pieces. Why should Barnes & Noble selling defective puzzles be the customer's problem? They should at least give a store credit when the puzzle is defective like that. I will never purchase another jigsaw puzzle from them. read more

I love this store. But their book selection doesn't feel as good as other locations. I really enjoy going to their deal section and looking at the cookbooks on sale. You can get some great deals on really good cookbooks. I hope this place stays in business, because there is something so special about flipping through a book then just reading about it online and clicking buy. I purchased my kids summer reading book at this B&N location. I received a 15% off coupon, so I went back to get a price adjustment. Brandon G. at the register helped me. I got a B&N gift card for the adjustment which was fine. I was shopping thereafter, found something to purchase asked Brandon G. if I could use the Gift Card he just gave me, purchased my item and asked if he could throw away the used card and card holder and his condescending tone was "I could if you ask me". I then took my garbage and told him I would throw away in front of the store. Really Brandon G.?! Stop with the "all puffed up importance attitude". You're in the retail customer service business. This one is busy but if you need help with finding something it's the one you should go to. There are always people at the help desk in the center of the store. It's always nicely stocked too. I like the cafe but it's really busy on the weekends. The only complaint I have is this one stopped carrying several of my favorite magazines. read more

Today, around 1:00, I bought a snack and a water at this Starbucks inside the B&N. About an hour and a half later, I went to the bar and I asked if I could have the water refilled. I was blown off. Girl told me she had to serve the 4-ish people in line first. ??? Filling up a water takes about 5 seconds! Don't see why I should have to wait in line however many minutes again and while however many drinks are made, just for a water refill. And since there was also a fairly long line when I first ordered, and the girl at the register seemed SUPER relieved when someone else clocked in, it seems like there needs to be more employees staffed at this time. read more

I was in dire need of a very specific and hard to find book for my research project. This class has been nothing short of a nightmare as I am constantly having to find niche writers and books that are most commonly not in the shelves at any major book store. I had no idea how I was going to find the source material I needed... and then like a gift from the almighty himself, appeared a Mexican saint. I say that with respect of course, but none the less a saint. I believe his name was Carlos?? Not sure, but he was the kindest and most knowledgeable associate I have ever had the pleasure of receiving help from. Not only was he knowledgeable and attentive to my flurry and rushing, as I am always procrastinating and running late, he was kind and genuine. And offered to order the materials I needed and FOUND THEM FOR ME!!! A trait long lost in retail, but he was actually interested in my dissertation on peg leg strippers. Not once but twice have I had the opportunity, no, the pleasure of being the recipient of this all-star employees genuinely amazing attitude and assistance, but I will forgo stopping at the bookstores closer to my house to shop with Carlos. It's not just the Barnes and Noble brand, it's the high quality individuals who they employ that bring me back here. Thank you Carlos (I hope that's right) for all your help. This Barnes & Noble REALLY needs to learn how to clean their bathrooms each night. Arrived there shortly after they opened and found the women's restroom to be totally disgusting! Paper towels and toilet paper all over the floor. Garbage can full of paper towels. One toilet had poop smeared across the front of it. I went downstairs to ask customer service if the women's bathroom could be cleaned because it was disgusting and filthy. When I went back in there later the only things done were the paper removed from the floor and the contents of garbage shoved down, not even emptied. Toilet was still filthy. I don't know if it's laziness or what but this is unacceptable. This isn't the first time walking into women's restroom shortly after store opening and finding it messy. read more

They are putting themselves out of business due to a combination of inept management, 1995 policies, and lack of customer service. This is 2017. No one puts up with the nonsense described below nowadays. I went into the store and found a book that would make an ideal gift. No price tag or shelf label to be seen. I took out my trusty smartphone, went onto Barnes and Noble's OWN WEBSITE (not Amazon) and found the identical book for $19.99. Went to the cashier (there was only one open) and was 3rd in line. The old lady who was being served 1st in line was taking forever (as the elderly sometimes do.) Anyways, the line grows to about 5 more behind me. Finally, a second cashier opened up and took the 2nd in line customer, making me next. The old lady was still talking about gift delivery or something when the second cashier was ready. She scanned the book and, low and behold, it was $29.99. No problem, I thought. Pulled out the trusty smartphone, still on THEIR webpage, and thought I was going to be price matched Best Buy style. Nope. "We don't price match," said the cashier. I told her it was their own website. "We don't price match even our own website." Almost laughing at the ridiculousness of waiting 10 minutes in line to hear that, I simply dropped the book on the counter, then bounced out to the car where I went on-line to AMAZON and bought the same book. For $18.84, by the way. Would have gladly given B&N the $19.99. Anyways, I can assure you that not only will I never return to this moronic establishment, but I will also spread the word to everyone. I would rate them at a 0.001 if I could and only a 0.001 because they had what I was looking for although I didn't buy it due to being followed like I was going to steal something. I am a Special Education Teacher for Social and Emotional learners so therefore I was by the education tools looking at Aaron's Putty as a sensory tool for my students with my boyfriend. I am a white female and he is a handsome black man. We were discussing which party pack would be the best to get for him and I too make together for my students, so they can have putty as a sensory tool rather than crappy messy slime. As we were talking and looking an employee was taunting us. By taunting I mean this chick moved boxed on the shelves forward and backwards just to look like she was doing something, she was watching my handsome, sexy BLACK boyfriend and I (fine white price of chocolate) to ensure we weren't steeling I guess. Then my boyfriend went to look at something else while I stood comparing boxes, this girl followed him and kept starring at him. It's almost 2021, REALLY. This Barns and Bibles sucks and they are racist. That being said I do not use the race card ever but I was reading other reviews and shocker there was a girl who was told to move out of her stray for no reason, she is a black girl.
