I was looking for a place for kids to get a haircut and saw this one online. I called ahead (about an hour and a half before they close) to make sure they were still taking kids and what the new protocols were to make sure we were even able to go but expecting to have to make an appointment for another day. They told me they are taking children and that they would take us the same day as a walk-in up until around 15 minutes before they closed. As soon as we got there (I believe it was half an hour before they closed) they sat my daughter down and did her hair. She was upset that she was getting a haircut but the man that was doing her hair did a great job of being a calming presence and reassuring her that she was doing great and that it was looking good. Once he was done with her hair she loved it! They were also really nice about letting me have two more kiddos there with me that weren't getting their hair done but that would just be waiting (which I made sure would be ok over the phone before us all going over) and they let me know that next time if two people need haircuts there is a huge discount. I have a son who really dislikes haircuts. He was nicked here in the past but I thought I'd try again because accidents happen. Considering I know my son can become very difficult during a haircut, I specifically go to places that advertise children's haircuts. Today we go in, the cut begins, he starts crying. What a good barber does is cut the hair while I try my best to comfort my son. However, the person who cut his hair would intermittently yell, "hey!" To my son while he was crying. Thanks lady. The cut continues and my son is screaming. Again, he was nicked in the past so I believe he is still freaked out about it. We get to the "end" of the haircut and she asks, "is this ok". You don't have to go to barber school to know a terrible job. All I wanted was a high fade, 4 on top. My son had train tracks on the side of his head. I politely said, "yes", rather than stay and have this lady fumble around me while telling son "hey!". I get it, screaming kids are not fun. Would not recommend this place to anyone!!! Took my daughter there to get highlights done for prom. After 3 hours, we both left nearly in tear. Her hair was burned and sizzled. I was so upset I could cry. She didn't take responsibility and made it seem like it was our fault. My daughter's hair was healthy. Never damaged before. This was only the 2nd time she had ever treated her hair. Queena' sister kept rubbing toner in her hair and left it too long. Then put her under the lamp to dry for way too long her scalp is now irritated. Then her sister kept brushing her hair and trying to hide all the hair she had burn off. Then when we start to show her all the damage she starts to put in leave in conditioner and water dripping everywhere. She starts to blow dry it again like that's it you're good to go and I kept showing her all the damage and brittle hair that they burned off. She said the highlight color was too light and that was why it damaged. I said then you should have declined or recommended to stay more neutral. She said I needed 2 people to work on it and her hair is so long. That's not my fault, that's in her. We were there with an appointment and still 3 hours we get crappy service and ruined hair. Another guy came out, and he looked at it and he automatically said you left the toner in for too long! It's only supposed to stay for 5-10 minutes. I was so upset and told her I'm am never coming back, it's sad because she has her prom on Saturday and this is what we get. Hair was falling out in the salon and at home. Just breaking off! This place is still in business because some people will accept any cut so long as it's cheap. You get what you pay for. Avoid Mary at all costs. I had her cut my hair twice completely disregarding what I asked for. Then I realized that she was giving me HER hairstyle! Worse than that is the horrible way you're treated. Making an appointment is a joke. Queena just randomly picks who gets in the chair. The third and last time I went I asked Queena to cut my hair. I guess I had to be punished for switching from Mary because when I got there (early) for my appointment Queena said "You're next." I then proceeded to watch her take walk in after walk in for an hour and a half. Then when I finally was considered punished enough, I was allowed to approach the Holy Chair. Queena proceeds to spritz my hair with a water bottle because she "doesn't have time to do a wash!" Really. She's just a money grubber who treats her customers like they're on an assembly line, quantity over quality. She might as well just steal your purse. I have been to this salon before for my own hair and loved it. I believe it was Queena who cut my hair. The day before high school started for my son for his Freshman year, I took him into get his hair cut. He wanted it short on the side and a bit longer on top faded. The woman who cut his hair started off with clippers with no guard and added a guarde when she did the top. The haircut was a buzz no doubt about it. I was so mad. She ruined his hair for his very first day of high school. If he wanted a buzz, he would have said so.. This was NOT what we requested. 1st Impression: I've been jumping from hair place to hair place for almost 2 years now, pretty much a new place each month since I'm a "once a month haircut" kind of person. On a weekday afternoon, even with a half-full waiting area I was greeted by all the working staff members, even though today was my first time. The place is spacious and super clean. Also noteworthy, it doesn't have that strong hair product odor that makes your nose itch if you inhale it for too long, which I thought was kinda nice.
