Adopted my rescue dog, Obie, about a month and a half ago, and he started showing signs of conjunctivitis (redness/eye discharge). After doing some research, I found QAH and was able to get an appointment that fit our schedule. Brought Obie in, and we were greeted in the waiting room by two wonderful receptionists, who doted on Obie and gave him a treat. He was a bit anxious to be there, but he really liked the attention! We were brought back into the room, where we met with the nurse and Dr. Kuo. Obie's weight and temperature were recorded, and after reviewing his conjunctiva, they asked for permission to do an eye exam to make sure he didn't have an ulcers (so we could proceed with treatment). I asked about prices and they were completely upfront with me on everything before any testing or medications were given. They took great care of him, and were so sweet in welcoming us to the office. Obie got steroidal eye drops (that he absolutely hates) but they've definitely cleared up his eye issues thanks to Dr. Kuo and the staff at QAH. We even got a follow up phone call to see how he's doing and I got to ask some questions, as well. I'll definitely be bringing Obie back to QAH for any future issues, and his yearly check up. read more

The care itself is generally fine and the veterinarians are kind, but I'm starting to question the practice's professionalism and transparency. I've been coming here on and off since 2020, and the bathroom still has a sign that says "Out of Order - Do Not Ask," which staff enforce by telling clients to try the pub on the corner. Additionally, although dental cleanings are frequently recommended, the office has never been able to provide a clear price, which is frustrating and undermines trust. read more

It is not recommended. Although the employees are good, the vet is unprofessional. I don't usually give bad reviews unless I see there's really something wrong with the establishment. It was a mistake to check in our cat, Annie, because the vet was clueless about the cat. I couldn't wait to bring it to our vet because it's the weekend. The vet here, I believe Dr. Patel? Also said the cat had an infection by looking at her teeth, which turned out nothing. When he said he would give us a quote, he left the paperwork at the front without coming back to us. Nice job, leaving us clueless of how long more to wait. We waited in the room, and the receptionist didn't let us know either. Hubby had to go to the front desk and ask, and that's how we found out about the estimate that the vet left for us. He didn't come back to us but left the paperwork at the front desk without informing me. So unprofessional. Never believe when the doctor tells you there's another problem with the pet until you do the bloodwork. We won't do Annie's bloodwork here because we questioned the integrity and honesty of the facility. I hope this review will help bring awareness and help them improve. : Traveling an hour from BRONX to QUEENS while PREGNANT. HAPPY and RELIEVED that I was visiting my now permanent "VET" due to COVID I was struggling to find a TRUSTING place. My cat had a glass injury where she jumped on glass. I told them exactly why she had the wound on her paw. I paid for a Clip and Cleanse. PROFESSIONAL Clip and Cleansing will Clip, Disinfect, REMOVE FOREIGN OBJECTS causing ANY PAIN to the wound, Apply ointment and if they are nice enough. BANDAGE IT. (THIS PLACE CHARGES extra 50$, when medical wrap and gauze is under 10$) I was HORRIFIED AND SCARED which is why I went to a professional!!!!!!! I was too scared to grab her paw and check her myself. They "clipped and cleansed" her. I went home, relieved. I bandaged, wrapped, Vetrycin Plus, gave her GABAPENTIN for pain, and CAGED my cat . She wasn't using her litter cus of her wound so I gave her a Towel. I FOUND GLASS WHEN CHANGING HER BANDAGE THE NEXT DAY. IF YOU WANT TO PAY OVERPRICED FOR SERVICES THAT THEY DO NOT MEET, BE THEIR GUEST. I paid so I can do the SERVICE MYSELF the very next day. Btw, I called and let them know. The supposed owner "DR.RASLA" told me they did their job right. Wanted me to book an X-RAY so they can remove more glass (that i removed myself, when they failed to remove the glass originally) I told him I trusted them, And I'm very upset with their services. In response to the vet's response: I returned a week later because I was told that you were out of pills and that I would need to return in one week. That was for the 5 pills. I asked about a new prescription because Dr. Patel said I would need one while waiting for the allergy panel. That should have been communicated internally. As for leaving quickly, I did not anticipate giving up 30 to 45 minutes of my afternoon at your vet when I was simply told to come in and pick up the medication. It's a shame that you couldn't have left it at the apology and instead turned and blamed the customer. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This vet is close to where I live and, even though many dog owners suggested I go elsewhere, I wanted to give them a try. I've met with both doctors and they're great. Mid-January, the doctor prescribed allergy pills for my dog but the nurse did not fill the prescription correctly. After a few phone calls and three visits, I never did get the last five pills. When I call, I'm told it's no problem. When I show up, no one knows what I'm talking about. At the end of January I returned for an allergy panel and to get the last five allergy pills. I met with Dr. Patel, who apologized for the mistake and offered to write a new prescription for my dog. He knew the allergy panel results would take about three weeks and that my dog was suffering. They did not have the allergy pills in stock so I had to wait a week. Yesterday I returned to get the new prescription. After explaining my situation to the receptionist, she called the nurse. After explaining my situation to the nurse, she rudely questioned why I'd need a new prescription. I suggested that she ask Dr. Patel if it wasn't already in my file. She kept asking me to give her the name of the allergy pills and I finally pulled up the paperwork from their office that I scanned into my telephone and showed her the name of the pills. In the end I could not get a direct answer about how this situation would be rectified AND I had to suggest a day and time to call and inquire about the follow-up. Meanwhile, my dog suffers. I suggest that the receptionists and nurses devise a system, such as leaving notes in patient files, so that they can communicate quickly and smoothly, ensuring that their furry families are cared for properly. In the meantime, I will look for a different vet because I don't have this much time to spare!! read more

If you want to be treated rude and disrespectful by one of the medical assistants then go to this place, this guy got very upset with us when we were discussing all the services they were planning for our pet that day, apparently he was pushing us to pay for all the services (which we ended up paying anyways) without letting us choose which one were the more important and necessary for our pet, so he got upset and escalated things very quickly and eventually leaving the room slamming the door at us, nobody there apologized for this guy's actitud and according to them he has some "issues" so be AWARE of him, you can easily identify this person, he will be the only one not wearing an uniform, he will get close to you as a complete stranger or at least that's how we look at him when he asked us bring our pet to one of the examination rooms (another lady also got so confused when this person asked her to bring her pet to one of the rooms to the point that she asked him "who are you, why you don't have an uniform") we spoke to the lady in charge of this place next day but as I said they are for focused on pushing services than taking care of costumers and their pets, we paid a over $1100 for all the services they offered to our cat (x-ray, blood draw, urine test- which we as costumers ended up collecting it up at home and then brought back to them because they couldn't collected it, I don't remember what other service we paid for)) we were charged anyways for something they have to do and didn't, so after 2 hours of waiting they gave us some unlabeled containers and some other stuff for us to collect the urine at home. in conclusion some of them are unprofessional and rude and they will be kept working there because upper management will focus on making money before making costumers comfortable. read more

I wonder why this place hasn't been reported to the NY board. We are a family from from out of state, our pet recently had an emergency. They charged all the money we can, initially saying our pet is fine, went back to the room and came out with an new bill. I called a respected vet practice and friends of mine and sent the bills, our pet was rechecked at the new clinic. Most things on the bill were SCAM. I am sure many customers (aside from the fake ones) will agree. The manager, Samantha, writes these unapologetic comments, but it is ridiculously cringy and desperate to cover its tracks. I decided not to write a review a few months ago but got SO annoyed after hearing this bulls**t place again. Let me just honestly this place IS literally a scam..... a few things to share. 1. When you make an appointment please honor the time agreed instead of coming in, waiting 2 hours and say oh it was an emergency surgery ahead of you. At least be a little mindful and let your appointment know it's going to be a wait. 2. What makes it worse is you have a book documenting who's next regardless of the appointment made. That's not very bright. 3. I'm confused what fluids was given to my pet? IV and some pills you prescribed. You must really think I must be naive and didn't see what you really did, which was basically nothing and I could of bought my pet home basically provided water and rest. That was what the doctor literally told me costed me around 6 hundred something dollars. 4. I came in as a follow up and get charged $35 when it could of been told over the phone. So basically you charged me $35 for 2 minutes ($17.50 per minute) to tell me here are the results. A email would of been sufficient with follow up feedback if needed. When I asked the doctor why couldn't you communicate this over the phone, the answer was "hummmm I don't know". You had an answer for taking my money. I'm so angry. Back when I started bringing my cat here, there were other doctors. Now there is only one and he's awful. He couldn't even be bothered to pretend he knew anything about my cat visit after visit. He would say "oh, he's lost teeth" when he personally was the one who pulled them. But the worst was when my cat got kidney disease and I had to ASK to get him on a kidney diet. Then it got worse and the doctor wouldn't (yes I mean WOULD NOT) compare his blood tests, which even I know is important. I have a vet in my family who looked at things for me and told me the cat needed to be hospitalized, which was never suggested/offered by Woodside. And no, my cat did not make it. My cat was in crises and our usual vet was overbooked. We came here. There was a notable lack of care and warmth among staff. The vet performed $900 worth of bloodwork then gave us two options: spend 6k at another hospital for aggressive treatment, or euthanize immediately. The vet discouraged us taking my cat home for the night to make a more informed decision. I'm sorry to say that in our emotional state, with my cat in excessive pain and the pressure to make an immediate decision, we decided to put our trust in the vet and let him be euthanized. In the light of day, after some research, I regret this choice. It was my choice alone but the vet could have proposed other options or advised the best possible end of life care within our means. I truly believe if my trusted vet had been available my cat would still be alive. Appallingly, right before giving him a catheter, they let my sick, barely-moving cat fall off a four foot high table and smack onto the floor, and without so much an apology. I believe this hospital is run by overwhelmed and jaded doctors who are only trying to get patients in and out as quickly as possible. I'm sure they are a serviceable operation for animals in need of dental work or non-life saving care. If your pet is in an emergency situation, I do not recommend them. Edit: In response to the business owner's comment, it is true the $900 bill was for other procedures. I used to bring my dog here over 15 years ago so when we adopted our 14 dog and couldn't find an appointment elsewhere we came here. It's a little awkward coming into the clinic because you have to go up three steep steps and then the doors are at an angle and chances are you will bump into someone when you open the door. The reception area is very tiny and the receptionists are all very, very, very rude. Like unimaginable rude. The medical assistants are the complete opposite super friendly and very warm as are the vets but holy mother of pearl the front desk needs serous customer service training or just hire people that actually will be nice and polite. Some of us are coming in here scared, new and concerned about our pets well-being and instead I get a rude not one but two girls who are more concerned about eating their breakfast and being on their phones. read more

I'll give them a two because they kept my cat alive during surgery when he got neutered. But that's where the positivity ends. I've never been surrounded by less passionate people that work with animals - from the front desk to the back office they're incredibly unhelpful, not detailed, and do not listen to what you're saying or need. Basically you pay them for a service that they half perform and you still have to fill in the gaps on aftercare, etc. I brought my cat here for his kitten vaccinations, deworming and to be neutered. They did not provide aftercare instructions, a cone for our cat, our cat and the carrier was covered in pee when we picked him up post surgery. I was very frustrated and sad. But then I brought our dog here (against better judgement) because she just needed a comprehensive annual check up and to get the green light for heart worm prevention and flea/tick prevention (our other vet had a 2 month wait) Dr. Patel was the least helpful, he physically looked at her and that was it. When I asked about the heart worm prevention and flea and tick prevention he said "I'll send over a prescription" he never did. I contacted the office and nothing was communicated internally - in fact he couldn't even remember who we were... it took over a month to get the medication and they still didn't give me the proper flea and tick prevention. It seems like they lack communication skills internally as much as they do externally. Anyone in Sunnyside/Woodside will tell you to try going somewhere else - save yourself the headache and listen to them. Don't make my mistake. If you have to go here, here are some tips: - They do accept credit card - They do not work with Chewy, 1-800-PetMeds, etc. - You will never be seen on time (block an afternoon) - Try to see Dr. Kuo (she seems to care the most) - Bathroom is gross (try to avoid it) - also if you have any complaints be prepared for them to be very combative and defensive back - it's never their fault. read more

I've been a client of there's for 20+ years, but since they moved there's been a turnover in staff and there is now only one vet on staff - Dr. Patel. If you want your annual shots and a cursory exam of your pets, this may be the place for you. BUT, for anything beyond that, beware. Brought my cat in because of a lump. They withdrew 3 vials of liquid and sent me home with no medicine/follow up. I had to call THEM to get test results. Dr. Patel then left a message "no cancer." But that was it. I followed up, asking "is there anything I should do?" Receptionist responded: keep an eye out for fever/change of behavior. Week + later, site where they withdrew is infected. Return to the vet & Dr. Patel says "Surgery" and is going to send me home with nothing. I ASKED for antibiotics. Today, went to a vet for a second opinion. 1) Antibiotics should have been prescribed after my first visit.. and maybe surgery could have been avoided. 2) They sent me home with antibiotics, and we'll see what's needed in 2 weeks. Our little boy Lucas had been sick for a couple of days and after seeing his regular vet and not finding what was wrong with him we decided to bring him here and get a second opinion. The staff and the doctors were amazing. Dr Lara was amazing and was very honest with what needed to be done with Lucas, we were given a treatment plan and we are so happy we went ahead and stuck with it. I knew the canine teeth were perfectly healthy so I did not agree to have them removed. They wanted to remove perfectly healthy teeth just to make money because teeth removal is expensive. I went to Queens Animal Hospital for the first time a few days ago to get my rabbit checked out for something hard around her rear I wasn't sure if I could remove myself. The vet assistant was very kind and they told me it was hardened feces attached to her and they could remove it. They wanted to add $95 to "cleanse" the area and an additional $95 to sedate her. That came to $250 to remove feces! I told them I couldn't afford that and they decided to let the rabbit leave with the feces attached to her. Pretty disappointing for a vet clinic that's supposed to care about animals. In the end I was able with patience to remove the hardened bit myself. I wasn't able to clean the bunny as good as a vet probably could but I did my best. read more

Im so so pleased with Dr Laura and everyone else in the office. I have a very aggressive Cat who unfortunately will attack you at the vet. They work with me being this is his behavior and they NEVER pushed unnecessary testing, in fact I tend to request because Im that helicopter mom. When I walk in I know when I had my boy over hes in good care and everything is done in his best interest.
