Dr. Perkins is a Gem!! First of all she doesn't over book her patience. You are basically always taken on time. She is so compassionate and treats patients as if they are her own animal. Her diagnosis is right on and it's a blessing to have a Vet. that doesn't look to run extra test, but just the ones necessary to treat your animal. As far as I am concerned she charges too little for her services!! Most importantly if you should have a situation where your animal is at the end of their life and untreatable, she tells you her opinion and helps you with that difficult decision to not have them suffer anymore. On another matter one of my dogs was limping and she new right away his ACL was torn and directed me to a fantastic surgeon to do the surgery. I am so at ease when I bring all 3 of my animals to see her. It can be very stressful when you have a pet that isn't the best patient. Dr Perkins speaks my animals language and knows how to handle the situation! I swear by her and would travel miles to see her. Her staff is wonderful and that makes the whole experience even better!

Love Dr. Perkins! She's been my dog Teddy's vet since he was a tiny pup (he turns 10 this year) and back when she only had one location. I'm glad to see her business growing! 1000% recommend.

Fresh Meadows Animal Clinic - Group photo

Fresh Meadows Animal Clinic

Fresh Meadows, Flushing

I brought my 18-YEAR-OLD, NEUTERED MALE cat with congestive heart failure to Fresh Meadows Animal…read moreClinic for a scheduled echocardiogram. Instead, he was given pre-anesthetic medications and anesthesia for a SPAY procedure. Dr. Cohen later stated there had been a mix-up with another patient. When my mother picked him up, she was told by Dr. Cohen not to inform me of the incident (I have been in the field for ~15 years) and was discouraged from seeking care elsewhere. No post-procedure blood work or objective assessment was performed to ensure he was stable for discharge. We took him to a 24-hour emergency hospital, where he was found to be dehydrated, hypokalemic, and in acute kidney failure. He has since required multiple ER visits for vomiting, lethargy, and not eating, along with ongoing monitoring that has cost thousands of dollars. Dr. Cohen also stated he would not be taking action regarding the employee involved, citing that she had been "showing improvement," and added that she is pregnant. Regardless, verifying the correct patient prior to anesthesia is a fundamental responsibility of the veterinarian. If others have had similar experiences and are considering reporting concerns to the state veterinary licensing board, I encourage you to document everything and follow the appropriate formal complaint process. No pet or family should have to go through this.

Long story short, the shelter was not clear or forthcoming about our boy's existing illness and without this clinic he would have surely lost his eye. I really appreciate the practice of being given a quote before any procedures are done. Their procedures are very reasonably priced (especially for this single mom!) But not at the expense of quality of care. I came in recently with a backyard cat we adopted. They let us come to the waiting room 15 min before closing to do a check for fleas, any major issues, gender, and a microchip for an existing owner. He checked out fine and we came back a week later for his first checkup. My 4yo (human child) was SO upset about our new kitty being taken into a back room so they worked to find a solution that made him calmer about his friend. It was so sweet and the care was comprehensive, I really appreciated it. Sometimes I've been hit with vet visits where the bills are astronomical and I don't understand what's happening, this was the exact opposite. The staff are so friendly and put us totally at ease. Also, if anyone cares, I compared the pumpkin and trupanion pet insurance for cats. Personally, I found pumpkin pet insurance covers quite a bit of care and is very affordable, in my opinion. Glendale all the way for us!

Steinway court vet has always been the most caring and probably one of the most amazing place to take your pet from cat to dogs the also have exotic pet vets as well. I have never been unhappy with the services and I can't help but always be happy coming here the vet are so hands on show so much care for you pets. I have experienced two different doctors for my Babies in t the location and both have always been helpful and respectful and caring. We've been to a couple of vets in the area but this one I highly recommend it so please take your babys here you'll get the best care for your baby's life this Is probably one of the only vet places I trust with my baby's life. Because I heard great things about this veterinarian place, I knew this was the one I had to take my piggy too. I called in first to see if I can come in. Their schedule was tight but they finally agree to let me come in because I told them I've been a few other vet places and had terrible experiences. With that said, this place was a heaven. The doctor that saw Max was kind, knowledgeable and explained in details what was the best course for Max, considering her age and situation. He did not rush to steer us toward a decision that we didn't want but explained more in details what he thought was best. Overall, this place is great for those who have exotic animals. It is super hard to find one in the city that is not trying to milk every dollar you have but actually here at Steinway Court, they really do seem to put the pet's situation first rather then suggesting a bunch of unnecessary tests that may end upcosting too much. I was very happy with the visit.

During our years with Dr. Loose, she's diagnosed and treated issues that we believe that other lesser vets would have missed. Dr. Loose combines talent and true love for animals. Her compassion is unmatched. As great as the office is, the staff is even better. Everyone is polite, caring, sensitive and friendly. It's really a pleasure to bring an animal to Dr. Loose. Dr. Loose is the perfect combination of respecting the client's wishes, but being firm with her guidance when she sees benefit for the animal. For example, we didn't want to take a certain vaccination, but Dr. Loose made the point about the risks in our area, and we went with her guidance. We were glad that she made things clear. Even more amazing is that Dr. Loose continues to price her services very fairly. The value is just terrific. We are on our third puppy under Dr. Loose's care, and we wouldn't take him anywhere else.
