When I…read morearrived, I was told my car "needs synthetic oil" and the price was changed to 69.99, which felt misleading but I accepted it. After an inspection, they recommended several very expensive services, which I declined. About two weeks later, I got a flat tire and discovered that my jack was missing, and another shop then found that both front fender liners were also missing. I had not taken the car anywhere else after the oil change, and I am certain these items were present before the visit. I am sure they removed the jack and fender liners because I declined their repair recommendations, and I consider this an unethical practice that has destroyed my trust in this service department. I bought my car from this dealership two years ago and was very satisfied at that time; however, when I returned for this oil change, I saw that the service area had been renovated and I am not sure if management changed, but my experience with their service has completely changed for the worse. Update: I filed a complaint with the dealership, and the service manager, Marcelo, reached out to me. He took the issue very seriously and asked me to come in, even promising to fix everything for me before the investigation was completed. I really appreciate how he handled the situation and believe this is how a good dealership should operate. I am updating my rating to 5 stars because they did everything they could to make things right, and this has rebuilt my confidence in returning there for future maintenance.

BEWARE -- PLEASE READ BEFORE DOING BUSINESS WITH HILLSIDE TOYOTA…read more I went to Hillside Toyota about four days ago because I was interested in leasing an electric vehicle. We had already discussed the vehicle, and after the dealership closed I was told to go home and that they would contact me the following day. They did call me back and told me to come into the dealership. They would not discuss the monthly payment with me over the phone. I came in excited and prepared to lease the vehicle. Once I arrived, I sat down with Hasim, the finance advisor, and was told my lease payment would be approximately $1,070 per month. Because that payment seemed extremely high, I specifically asked to see the money factor and an itemized breakdown of the lease so I could understand exactly why the monthly payment was so high. They refused to show me the money factor and refused to provide me with the itemized bill I requested. That was a major red flag for me. Instead, Yasin, the sales associate, switched seats with Hasim and began explaining the numbers to me himself. That made me even more cautious because I was asking for the actual lease figures and documentation, not simply a verbal explanation. I was also told that certain numbers were based on what the bank approved. Consumers should understand that while the lender can determine credit approval and financing terms, the dealership still controls important parts of the transaction, including the negotiated selling price and dealership-added products or fees. The following day, Hasim contacted me about another vehicle, a Toyota Corolla. I was discussing a three-year lease with 15,000 miles per year, and the figures presented to me would have resulted in approximately $20,000 in lease payments. Considering the Corolla I was looking at was priced around the mid-$20,000 range, that seemed extremely expensive to me for a vehicle I would still have to return at the end of the lease unless I paid the additional buyout amount. The three employees I personally dealt with were Hasim, the finance advisor; Yasin, the sales associate; and Mike, the finance manager. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend that consumers be extremely cautious when dealing with them. My biggest concern was simple: I was being asked to consider a $1,070 monthly lease payment, but when I asked to see the money factor and an itemized bill showing how they arrived at that payment, they refused to show me that information. Before signing any lease, ask for everything in writing: the selling price, money factor, residual value, acquisition fee, taxes, dealer fees, amount due at signing, mileage allowance, and total of all payments. BEWARE. BE CAUTIOUS. DO YOUR OWN MATH. GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING. DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING UNTIL YOU UNDERSTAND EXACTLY WHERE EVERY DOLLAR IS GOING. This review is based on my personal experience and the figures and information that were presented to me at Hillside Toyota

Their own signed paperwork lists the concerns together with one diagnostic charge. They diagnosed only four of the five issues. Then, instead of completing the job I brought the car in for, they told me they wanted ANOTHER full $200 diagnostic fee to diagnose the remaining issue. I refused. At that point, they refused to release my car unless I paid the $200 original diagnostic charge, despite the fact that they had not completed the diagnostic work I brought the vehicle in for. The paperwork I signed does not say the diagnostic fee is "per issue." It does not show separate diagnostic charges for each concern. It shows the concerns and a single diagnostic charge. This is one of the worst dealership service experiences I have ever had. The problem isn't simply the money. It's the way the situation was handled: changing the financial expectation after the vehicle was already in their possession, refusing to complete the remaining diagnostic without another fee, and then using possession of my vehicle as leverage when I disputed the charge. If you're considering bringing your vehicle here, my advice is simple: get absolutely everything in writing before handing them your keys, ask exactly how many diagnostic fees they intend to charge, and do not assume that the price on your signed repair order represents what they will ultimately demand. I will also be documenting the matter and pursuing the appropriate consumer complaint channels. I would not trust this service department with my vehicle again.
