No complaints at all. Arrived at 0630, paid the ship's Captain $80 cash, loaded my gear aboard and…read morewe took off before 0645 once everyone else was ready. We arrived at the first bouy around 0815. Fishing poles were ready and baited. The deckhand removed fish, rebaited hooks, and was as attentive as he could be for 13 people bringing in fish at the same time. The Captain helped too when things got busy. We visited multiple spots, caught lots of Seabass, Sharks, Red Crokers, even some flounder and puffers. We returned around Noon and they cleaned our fish for us (small tip $2-$3 per fish recommended.) Highly recommend; likely to attend again.

The group included one 7 year old, two 11 year olds, two 15 year olds, and 9 adults. We got to the dock at 6:20 and Capt. Lee and First mate Cliff were ready to go. Boat running, rods in place, and bait spread out on the gunnels. We left dock 6:30, instead of scheduled departure 7:00. We did troll on the way out and caught one Spanish. It was a fast troll, not a slow one. We started bottom fishing around 7:30. We started catching fish immediately. The majority of the fish caught were Black Sea Bass. The minimum keeper was 13 inches and most of ours were 12 and 12.5. Still a nice fish to catch. We probably brought home 15 sea bass. We also caught ring tail, small grouper, calico bass, pig fish, and a lizard fish. The most fun was catching 6 Atlantic Sharp Nose Sharks. Even the 7 year old caught a shark. I was worried about the kids being bored, but they did very well. Around 10:00 the kids went inside the huge cabin and played with their phones and iPads for awhile. We started back to the dock around 11:00. We caught fish steady for the 3 hours we bottom fished. I can't say enough about Lee and Cliff. Both of them were phenomenal. They both did so well with the kids. It is obvious they do it, not for the money, but because they enjoy what they do. Needless to say, they cleaned the fish and told us the best way to cook them. It was an excellent trip, enjoyed it immensely.

Shepherds Pie was wonderful and the Corn beef and cabbage had extra special flavor. Great job Chef! What beautiful scenery of the inter coastal water, and warmth of the sun in the background. You all made it extra special and we definitely will be returning for our next monthly gathering.

The shrimp was exactly as the name would suggest- nothing special but tasty. The soup was probably the best part, taste-wise. I ordered the filet and it came out overcooked and dry- something akin to a hockey puck. Our server was excellent and saw it within minutes and brought me a new plate. The second was juicy and cooked perfectly, however I think this restaurant is scared of seasoning. The garlic butter on the steak was the only hint of flavor- I had to heavily salt the asparagus and mashed potatoes to get them down. No seasoning at all. My partner got the mahi mahi and while the flavor was okay, everything was dry and muted. Eating on the deck made it all worthwhile, but I think next time I'll just got for the view and apps.

Loved the shrimp and the hush puppies as well. Get the sweet tea as well, it's worth it! One approaches a kitchen promising Low Country simplicity with a certain, shall we say,…read moreapprehension. One anticipates the rustic, the unvarnished truth, and Boro, to its credit, provides precisely this necessary theatrical context. The cuisine, blessedly free of the contemporary chef's compulsion to smother and complicate, is a profound exercise in elemental preparation. The seafood, whether grilled, broiled, or steamed, is allowed to speak for itself--a rare instance of culinary honesty achieved by the pure elimination of extraneous sauces. It is simple, yes, but in its unwavering pursuit of purity, it is undeniably good. The atmosphere adheres to its premise, rustic. It serves as an apt, unfussy framework that successfully prevents the food from aspiring to a sophistication it neither possesses nor requires. Furthermore, the personnel display a most peculiar, yet welcome, characteristic--they are friendly. And the kitchen seems determined to defeat the human condition of hunger through sheer volume, the quantities are nothing if not plentiful. And yet, even in such a steadfastly honest establishment, the shadow of imperfection must fall. In this recent visitation, the hush puppies, those humble tokens of Southern hospitality, lacked the grace and essential character they possessed in prior recollections. This is a small, tragic failure--a momentary lapse in the otherwise consistent tapestry of taste. It is a singular, nearly unforgivable misstep in a dish so fundamental, but one which fails to crumble the entire enterprise. Boro Low Country Kitchen, continue this earnest, unpretentious work.
