Mussels & Pork Buns
Grover G.

Queequeg's is such a good consistent restaurant in nantucket, their menu has a little bit of everything. From sushi, to meats, and soups. I got the mussels and they were tasty, nice portion with a couple Pieces of grilled bread. It needed herbs or something to freshen up the dish but still delicious. The pork belly buns were also great, you have to eat them as soon as they get to the table or the bun cools off and hardens a bit. Nonetheless it's a solid restaurant offering delicious food at an affordable price in nantucket.

Fried cod
Kaeli E.

Our hopes were high for this place as many people we passed said they loved it. Unfortunately my tacos didn't have a ton of flavor, the fry seemed overdone, and more unique toppings or some sort of house-made sauce would've been nice. It seemed like there was little effort/creativity for this dish. The fries were barely seasoned and also seemed a bit overcooked. The fish on the sandwich was very fresh but besides that, lacking flavor. The fish to bread ratio seemed off, with there being excess bread. The service was great, as my water was constantly refilled, and the food came quickly. I would not return here, as we could easily find better food elsewhere.

Chowder. Fish & Chips

Outstanding! The chowder is among the best of the best. We had the fish and chips and it was exactly how it should be served. Not over breaded. Light. Fluffy and full sized portions of cod. Great service. Fantastic cocktails. Highly recommend.

Hamachi Dragon and Shashimi

A tiny fun - cobble stone side street to street side bar with comfy seating and good drinks ! You have to walk by to notice it between the shingles- but so worth it. We had sushi- and it was delicious!! No comparison- best on island by far... fun afternoon vibe before dinner and left wanting more food - I could eat there every day! Wish we stayed for dinner...

Steak Frites
Elizabeth M.

The service was great! Our server was super friendly, funny, and knowledgeable. The food was delicious. Clam chowder was hot and creamy. The steak frites was cooked perfectly and how I requested it. Was give a large side of truffle fries- my fav! We split the crème brûlée but I wish I had it all to myself!! Would definitely go back here!

Shrimp Scampi

We had a reservation but still had to wait 20 minutes for our table to be ready. Regardless of that issue with the hostess, the rest of the staff was friendly and the food was delicious! Everything came out fast too.

Ramen
Pat G.

We came here for dinner a few nights ago and had the Dynamite Shrimp to start and the Halibut and Ramen as our mains. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The Dynamite shrimp are cooked in a very light batter (almost like beer batter or what you might get with an upper tier sweet and sour chicken/pork) accompanied by a delicious spicy/tangy sauce. Highly recommend this dish. Only complaint being the shrimp are a bit small in size. The Halibut was a little overcooked and dry but the risotto it was served on was delicious, and the sauce (a type of bernaise) was great too. I thought the ramen was a little flavorless compared to what I'm used to eating at places that specialize in Ramen (I should have probably ordered something else). All in all we had a good experience and would come back again.

Cozy space; great food - mussels were fabulous. Relaxing time at the inside bar and great chat with the bartender.

Flavorful large portions from an eclectic menu. Authentic ambiance without pretension. Good service and reasonably priced wine list.

I seldom write bad or negative reviews, so this one flummoxed me a bit…read more The appetizer was this wonderful cold mussel dish, with spices and a light oil. Just a nice, artisan dish akin to something you'd get in New Bedford or Fall River. Fantastic. 5-Stars. Now their lobster roll. Imagine a hot dog, OK, and now imagine one of those little Jimmy Dean breakfast sausage links for size comparison. The volume of finely shredded lobster meat, that was also warm in that hot dog roll was smaller than the Jimmy Dean link. 0-Stars. My recommendations for a "good" lobster roll is to go anywhere else on island. I'd recommend Sayle's Seafood, The Nantucket Lobster Trap or Stubby's. In fact, I'd just stay clear of the Club Car altogether, it is one of those places for the self-focused New York / Miami new [vulgar] money jet-set that treat the island like their play-thing... you know, you see their empty beer cans in the morning around town. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

The service is always on point (Bridget always takes care of us--she's genuinely so nice), and the food never misses: the lobster Cobb salad is fresh, loaded, and perfectly balanced, and the croque madame is pure comfort (savory, cheesy, and even better with the egg). And don't sleep on dinner, Club Car turns it up even more, and their steak frites is the best!

Upstairs there a barroom and a couple of dining rooms. I would not imagine they could have so much seating. I had the octopus and pot belly. The octopus was tender. Solid 4 star review. Oran Mor is one of those restaurants that I end up returning to every…read moresummer/every other summer for a few reasons. 1) You can usually get a last minute reservation. 2) The vibes are old Nantucket, located upstairs in an old brick house; it's dark and gives off that vibe that at any moment, a captain of a whaling ship will settle up next to you at the bar. And lastly, 3) the food. While meals historically have been a mixed bag, the food overall is a sure bet. Additionally, I love that the Oran Mor is more of an older crowd. I'm in my hanging with a 65 year old+ chic granny more than a 20 something year old influencer era. Ok, some more details. My batched cocktail off the menu was great - the cherry rickey. I love all things cherry and this hit home with a perfect mix of cherry and boozy flavors. We went with the snail app, the special crab pasta and the potato crusted fish. The crab pasta was solid, with the pasta being cooked perfectly. A tad bland, but that could just be the dish was more focused on that crab vs heavy seasoning. The fish was delicious, but disappointment came in with the sides. Sides are usually my favorite part of any dish, and the eggplant was burnt and ultimately kind of inedible and the veggie medley or whatever it was, was indeed a bit sad and underwhelming. My husband and I both were like womp womp. Even the additionally ordered creamed spinach was more of a creamy spinach soup vs spinach which we also would not order again. No dessert because Juice Bar be like around the corner. :) Service was great. We have been seated in the dining room and by the bar, and I appreciate both vibes. Overall, solid. Nantucket dining can be hit or miss with rezzies hard to find, so if Oran Mor is a possibility, I don't think you'll be disappointed (maybe just with the sides!).

Home fries need to be spectacular to impress me, and these were truly out of this world. I could eat them every day! I have no complaints about anything on my plate. The scrambled eggs were perfectly prepared (I asked for them well-done) and of course the home fries were the star of the show. My latte was also very good, and these mug it was served in was so cute. I tried a bite of my friend's chocolate chip waffle, which was recommended to us by a coworker who said it was the best on the island. I can't say I have tried any other waffles on the island, but this one was quite delicious and it would be difficult to top it. Even though it was busy late on Saturday morning, my party of two was seated right away. Sure, you're sitting close to the people next to you, but I do not mind. The place is well-decorated and has a pleasantly clean vibe about it. I am looking forward to trying dinner here as well in the near future!

While wondering around town, we went down a side road behind the Nantucket Lobster Trap and a wonderful aroma of curry reached us. The takeout window has a special menu off to the right side of Caribbean curries and other dishes. We came back that night and were rewarded with some of the best food we had on the island. The chicken was so tender it fill off the bone, sauces were rich and flavorful without being too spicy. We tried Festival, which is a bread that is a little sweet, and found it good for dipping in the sauces. Everything was excellent. Give it a try, it is like a hidden secret on Nantucket.

Open year round, limited hours and days off-season, including the Take Out Window. Damn good lobster. Steamers to die for. Coleslaw is nice and cold just like the Cisco draught beer.
