My husband has been gluten free going on 3 years and we are so excited to find a great gluten free restaurant here in Surprise. Met friends at Quench for an early dinner twice. We loved the charcuterie board and the nachos especially. Both visits offered specials besides the regular menu. Great touch!!! We thought the wine and beer selection was better than average. Even with a busy dining room, our service was very good. On the down side, we are hoping the owners change out the chairs. I'm only 5'4' and could not sit in those chairs!!! My husband totally disliked them. Our friend is 6' and had a very hard time getting in and out. Please get different chairs, then we'll be back and I'll give you 5 stars!! read more

Don't let the location of this place dissuade you, it is worth a visit! Wait staff was super and good was good but management was not very accommodating and reason for the 2 stars. We were a party of 6 but management told us they have seating for 2 and for 4 but not 6 - would not move 2 tables together. We we're told "not happening" and "good furniture is not meant to be moved'. So we sat at two different tables in hopes it would work out for us. When we had a hard time hearing each other, we scooted one of the tables a bit closer and we were reprimanded. Yes, I did say "reprimanded". Plus, they added a 20% gratuity to our checks for a "large party of 6" that could not sit together. We would have given the wait staff 20% tip or more because she was awesome. But management has a lot to learn about customer service. Go if you are a party of 4 or less or be prepared to sit separately. read more

Five of us decided to try this place on a Wednesday night around 6pm, we were really excited for the gluten free options as I have celiac disease. When we walked in, there were maybe 2-3 tables seated and plenty of room. When we said 5 people, he quickly said they had no room for "a big party" and told there was a group coming in for the back area. They also said that "we don't move furniture" to make a 4 person table work for 5. I'm sure the food is great but it was so odd to turn away 5 people from a nearly empty restaurant. We went to try out this place and support a local business. Were told that they do not have the space to accommodate a stroller and they do not have high chairs. DO NOT GO HERE!!! Owner was unbelievably rude! If I could give it less than one star, I would!!! I've spent the last 30 years in the "Leisure Hospitality" industry and have never experienced "an owner" be so blatantly rude to its patrons. I just moved to the area and was invited to join a party of couples for drinks and apps. There were ten of us, too many for the bar and all the tables were separated. It wasn't busy and there was plenty of room so I asked a hostess if we could turn a couple chairs to face a couch in the back of the restaurant so we could all mix, mingle and enjoy drinks and apps. She was helping us when the "owner" scurried over and snapped. He abruptly turned the two chairs back the way they were and said, "We only serve parties of four! You'll need to break up your group if you want to be here." I had to clarify if this was indeed "the owner" and not a disgruntled employee. Indeed it was the owner! OMG ... I was shocked he had the audacity to be so rude. His restaurant was POOR (at best)! It was located in a dingy strip center. The food was average. The ambiance was nothing special. There were no views and it was EXPENSIVE. What am I missing? The owner acted like it was "a privilege"for us to be there and assumed he had the right to treat us with such disrespect. There was absolutely nothing to make this restaurant stand out. When you live in a small city with so many choices of GREAT choices of "good" restaurants you simply do not need to tolerate such RUDE behavior and total lack of civility. Note to owner, "get out of the restaurant business" you DO NOT have the personality nor demeanor to serve the public. Now more than ever, people must choose wisely on where to spend their hard earned money ... Quench is not that place. There is no excuse for rude behavior, never, ever. read more

My daughter loves sangria, so we decided to go here when she stopped over the house. This restaurant serves drinks and sharable appetizers. Everything we chose was excellent! The food came out as it was ready so we ate in stages.We ordered the bread, steak skewers, chicken wings and blackened shrimp in a mango sauce with lemon curd and fruit for dessert. Everything was amazing! Our server and the fellow servers were constantly checking in and making sure our needs were met-- even the chef came out and asked about our experience. It is a cozy and quiet place so conversations are easily had making for a great date or catch up setting. Hours are limited so make sure it is open before heading there. We met the owners, the wife Angie is the chef and the Husband Jeff, manages the place. It has nice quiet music playing in the background and the food was superb. I found it at the end/ corner of a strip mall. Although the settees for sitting around the table seemed odd to, they were very comfortable. And the windows let the light in and kept the cozy, but bright atmosphere seem more open than it was. How fortunate I didn't let my snootiness keep us from trying this great find. It was really busy on a Friday night, yet we got seated right away. The wine selection, food, preparation, and flavor, and surprising speed and quality of the food made it a great time. We just came back from eating here! We were fortunate enough to catch the end of Happy Hour! There were several good wines, beers and tapas to choose from on HH. I got a nice red on HH. My husband choose a red that wasn't on HH. We both thoroughly enjoyed our wine. Sorry I can't recall the name of the wines. FYI they have no soda or tea, only beer, wine and water to drink. We shared the vegetable and hummus plate. It was very delicious. We also got the ricotta, pesto and sauce in the jar that is served with toasted crostinis. It was delicious, my only complaint is the bread was so hard I thought it might break a tooth. My hubby really enjoyed the mango wings and the shrimp on a skewer. He said they were both delicious. It's a very nice little place. I love their decor. I love that it is local and NOT another chain restaurant! We also shared the Basque Cheesecake for dessert, it was melt in your mouth delicious! I see what someone meant by their seating. They have individual love seats you can sit on. The velvet blue ones are soft and fit perfectly with the size of the table. The ones on the other side of the table are a charcoal color and although my husband is 6'5" he looked like a child sitting across from me. Those particular couches do not work well for that table height. He got up and came to sit on the blue couch with me. I have to compliment Amanda on the excellent service she provided to us. She had several tables but did not keep us waiting at all! She was very friendly, gave us recommendations, and was a great server! Everyone was dressed very casually. I think I read something about it being "upscale", but many people wore jeans, plaid shirts and tennis shoes. I did not see anyone really dressed up. I enjoyed my visit there.
