I'm not sure about old reviews, since it suggests it has moved. The location looks relatively pristine so it makes me think it was recently renovated. I made an appointment for a work-related annual health screening and I was the 2nd person in. I usually go to the San Gabriel location (the past 2 years this Alhambra location was not available for appointments for me). San Gabriel's location is a nightmare to park and has an extended queue because of the surrounding medical offices nearby. Tips- -make an appointment since it usually has first priority. I was late 15 so min in the past and it is basically treated as a walk-in appointment. -they have a dedicated parking lot but I knew if I was driving in from South Garfield, I would need to make a left into the lot so I opted to park along Valley instead -you check-in via a tablet but there is someone at the front desk Jenny N. assisted me and she was friendly. I waited 2 min tops and was in/ out within minutes. The wait is much less here than my usual experience at Kaiser. This is my preferred Quest location. read more

Set up an appointment here on yelp. Was practically in and out. It was for my 2yo. I saw two parties leave as I was arriving ( 20 minutes before my appointment time @1:15) It was empty inside. Looks as though they have everything set up geared towards social distancing. They have chairs set apart. Place mark's to indicate where to line up/stand while waiting. They provide hand sanitizer and even gloves!! They have self check in. As soon as I checked in, they peeked their heads out to ask me for my lab order. They needed a copy in person or have it faxed. As soon as they had all my information they took me in. They were nice, efficient, and gentle. Even gave my son a sticker. Phlebotomist was skilled with her needle. I appreciated that. This seemed like a new place compared to when I was here 4 years ago. Waiting room is a little small but good size since it's only for labs and everyone is in and out. (It's really all they need). They have the television going to keep you occupied. Had no trouble with parking in the back. read more

just had am cortisol blood test. couldn't have had a worse experience. the phlebotomist was a young woman with straight brown hair, past shoulders with blonde highlights. she did not have a name tag. she must've been in a bad mood because she immediately started giving attitude and assuming i was upset with her when i wasn't, i just literally came for a blood test. she assumed i was upset and said i have to wait in a lobby for someone else to see me when i already waited for 40 min and this is a time sensitive test that needs to be taken by 9am. i was there at 8 am sharp. i told her i'm not upset, let's just get started, it's all good. she drew my blood and as she was fastening the rubber off my arm, she did it in such a rough manner that the needle moved and immediately hurt me. after she removed the needle the pain continued. i'm still in pain. i think it's important for personnel that inserts sharp needles into people to not bring their mood to work because they can literally hurt people. you cannot be angry doing this job. they need to mediate or something before work. it's absolutely unacceptable. i hope appropriate measures are taken about this. I had to get blood work done for my new employer and this lab was the closest to my house. I made an appointment online and showed up a few minutes before my scheduled time. You sign in and your name initials appear on the wall monitor. I was seen by a lab technician on time and we had a nice conversation while she did her job. I've tried this place twice, and haven't been able to get in. They leave before closing hours.

0 star if I could give. Went in to do my blood test last week and there was this young lady with brown hair (station/room #3), skinny, hispanic-like looking, without her name tag. Poor attitude. She was checking to see which arm was suitable for the draw and I specifically told her it's always the right arm (did my blood test many times) but she did not listen and did the left arm anyways. And guess what? Nothing came out and it hurt me but she did not seem to care. She was not friendly at all. She did my left arm and blamed that my vein moved too much (yeah right) and it was not her fault. And she did my right arm and blood flow was slow and she told me to drink lots of water next time before a blood draw, which I told her I drank a lot of water every time before a blood draw. This was not my first time getting a blood draw. The reason why the blood flow came out slow because she poked it sharp at 90 degrees, whereas the other nurses in the past did it at a 45 angles (never directly). She started giving me an attitude and was unapologetic after I advised her. Now my arm (injection site) is bruised (dark and purple) and i never got a bruise like this before and it's still hurting. Not only did I get a bandaid coming out of the clinic but TWO (one on esch arm). This is beyond ridiculous. Below are my recommended corrective actions with trainings: - Train the aforementioned nurse to be more welcoming and friendly - Listen to the patient's history - Take patient's words more seriously - Be more gentle to the patients especially the elderly - Refine her ATTITUDE AND BE RESPONSIBLE (if she doesn't want to be there then just quit) I will not come back to this location or company again. I do not want to get hurt again. If my arm does not get better or the bruise does not go away soon, I will consult my legal counsel. read more

Bad service. There's a problem between the communication between the clinics they work with. Patients shouldn't have to print out the lab requests, Quest and the doctor's offices should have direct communication for smoother transactions. Front desk staff is rude and unhelpful. read more

My Father went into this office for Blood work at 9:20am and was having trouble with Kiosk. He asked the Nurse for help and another Nurse came out the back room. With attitude very rude and refused to give any assistance. I am Diabetic and was fasting for 14 hours and I asked if she was manager and never responded. She kept on going back and forth in the back room and then returned just to say I not going to help you and that I was rude. She didn't want to hear me out and would not help at all. Came in as a walk in right when they opened. Only to be told that I have to let appointments sign in first before walk ins can. I asked, how am I suppose to know who's an appointment and who's a walk in. The phlebotomist didn't care and dismissed me. She was impatient with those who needed help to sign in and ignored questions as well. Scheduled an appointment through Quest's site. Both attendants inside were very grumpy and they were already reprimanding another woman in front of me who was trying to fax in her lab order. Sent to a room for my lab test, and given attitude by the young woman the entire time because they closed in 20 minutes (Quest gave me the appointment time.) By the time I left after my lab, she was complaining to the other attendant that I wasn't being polite to her, but I was just mirroring her energy. No need to give saccharin when she's giving salt. Based on other recent reviews, seems like these two young ladies just always have a chip on their shoulder. read more

My appt was for 2:20 and I was there for 45 mins, I'd say 20 mins of my time wasted since this is appt based and I seen 2 ppl in and out before I was serviced. Upon arriving, they do not greet you as nobody is sitting at the reception area & the workers seem to just bring their nastiest attitude to work with them. If you cannot service ppl with a smile, kindness & patience you should not be a healthcare worker. The young lady phlebotomist was very rude as she seemed to be in a rush to end her day & scoffed as an elderly patient said she needed to use the restroom before they started. Based on what I witnessed that day alone, I wouldn't recommend this location to anybody (or visit if you'd like a bruised arm & spoken to like a dog) & Quest to reevaluate their staff or offer some training but tbh some ppl just shouldn't be working in healthcare. read more

The Quest DIsgnostics is brand new. It was moved here, from 723 S Garfield Ave recently; somehow my family doctor did not know that, so I was told to go to 723 S Garfield Ave first and it was closed. I checked online by myself and finally found here; luckily it is the right place. The Quest is located at the first floor in the south side of the building. It is very clean and tidy. I just walked-in on Saturday morning around 8:30 am. It took me around 20-25 mins to get my blood test, which is not bad. It also accepts appointments, see attached photo about how to make an appointment. People are also nice. When you arrive, you need to put your information into a touch screen. And a big screen shows each person's number and waiting time, which is good and convenient! Hope this information helps! read more

I went to this location to get my daughters blood drawn, she's a year old and needed to get routine blood work done. When we walked in the lady behind the desk, Maria, was already being rude to an elderly lady in front of me ( the only other patient in line), not trying to help her at all just plain rude to her. When it was my daughters turn to get her blood drawn, She of course starts to cry and I asked Maria if I could have a paper to wave in front of my daughters face because she had stopped breathing instead of helping me with getting the paper, Maria proceeds to yank my daughters arm when I ask her to stop and be gentle with my daughter she continues to yank at my daughters arm and tells me that she is trying to get her to breathe by yanking her arm! I tell her to let go of my daughters arm and not to touch her anymore and she gets upset and starts to yell at me. I told her that i don't feel comfortable with her helping us and that she must be having a bad day since she was rude to other patients before my daughter. She tells me she needs to walk away from me and turns around and calls me a bitch without even trying to hide it! what kind of place are they running here! that employee is completely unprofessional and should lose her license! Nurse was rude to me. More importantly she was rude to my mother. Im fair skinned with bulging veins i got 3 very small tubes of blood taken and havent been able to move my arm from how badly im bruised. Other arm is broken and she took my good arm. Made my life even more difficult. I would not recommend bringing anyone old or someone who you want treated with some decency here. I really like this office. I used to go to the Hellman office, which had a nice feel, but I'm sure the capacity here must be substantially greater. Linda helped me today, and I feel like perhaps on other occasions in the past, and I really feel compelled to praise her cheery, intelligent manner and calming demeanor. Her phlebotomy skills are impressive, because my veins are usually a challenge, but she had no trouble, and didn't hurt me. It's not that getting blood drawn is a pleasure, but a skilled, personable, truly professional technician makes the entire procedure much more pleasant! Quest, you failed your community and your employees. This location has a high percentage of Mandarin speaking clients, yet your lab workers do not speak the language; therefore, communication for both the workers and the the clients is Ineffective. I witnessed your staff member, Lauren, yelling at a client who didn't speak English. Granted, the non-English speaker was not understanding what Lauren was trying to convey, asking if they had an appointment. Apparently, this frustrated Lauren (understandably so) but she began yelling at the client. I witnessed several other individuals attempting to communicate with her and Lauren's demeanor was similar. I speak English as a first language and Lauren was also rude to me. I feel she is cold and dismissive with people's needs. I made an online appointment with this office for a COVID test. However, when I arrived, the woman told me that they do not have any tests. She asked if I had an appointment but when I told her, she made no effort to check the database. The online system for Quest needs to be updated. The woman was unapologetic and did not seem to care about my plight or make any effort to contact quest or recommend another location to me. I do not recommend or trust this office. read more

DO NOT RECOMMEND! This is my third visit to this location. Last time I was there it seemed ill kept, not especially clean and there were blood vials on the floor. The woman had a hard time finding a vein and finally had to use a vein in my hand, which was painful. Have great insurance which covers blood work 100%. This visit they wanted me to pay $200. I left. Did not feel safe getting my blood drawn here. The attitude of the staff was dismissive and uncaring. Most Quest locations get terrible reviews but would be kind to yourself and try another location. read more

This quest location is very low tech. My info is online in their data base and I've walked into another location and just gave them my first and last name. I shouldn't have to fill out another form. It doesn't sound like a big deal, but it's not necessary. Why waste paper and time? I don't get it. I already paid out of pocket for my expenses in full. All they need to do is ask my FN & LN and print the labels out for the blood vials. Ask me for verification after you taken my blood and I sign another paper. WHY ARE YOU MAKING IT SO COMPLICATED. I have had other phlebotomy technicians tell me they can't find my veins, I need to hydrate before they can find my veins, or they poke me multiple times causing major bruising. They only do the quantiferon gold blood draw after 2PM. That being said, I did a walk-in at 2PM on a Monday. Wait time was only around 5 minutes? The lady drawing my blood was really quick. I was surprised at how well she found my vein because others usually have a hard time and leave me with bruises. I was done within 15 minutes at most! I don't get how my spouse and I were able to make appointments online on Feb. 23 for Mar. 8, receive confirmation email and copies of our orders, then when we arrive the office is closed and there's a sign that says "Temporarily Closing, effective Feb. 2... Reopening Mar. 19." No notifications to patients who had appointments, and the system didn't prevent us from making the appointments. I can't tell if this is a problem with the Quest appointment system in general or a problem with this specific location. Fyi the sign directed us to "visit our closest location" in Arcadia that is 20 minutes away, when the one in San Gabriel is 10 minutes away and takes walk-ins. We went directly to San Gabriel and fortunately our order was in the system and we didn't have to wait long on a Friday morning (so I'm not 100% pissed and I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1). My test went fine but the older slimmer lady working there was awfully rude to the elderly people that came in. I ended up having to get up to assist the 3 elderly patients that came in. Saying things LOUDER doesnt make them understand better. They heard her just fine but she would just keep raising her voice and getting visibly rude and impatient to them.
