Came here to get a chicken pox antibody test for school requirements. Had questions about the test and had difficulty getting an appointment specifically for the test, so I just just opted to schedule a 'regular' appointment at 11:45am on a Wednesday. I came in during my time slot, checked in on the tablet, and spoke with the receptionist. She tried to turn me away because I did not have a test ordered by a doctor. I told her that I saw you can order it online, she still said she didn't see anything ordered and can't do anything... so I went on my phone in the waiting room, ordered my test, and paid for it. Once I did that, I was seen by a phlebotomist (He was great, think his name may have been Hong, not sure). I was in and out of my test in 5 minutes. The whole experience was under 20 minutes. Overall, good experience ALTHOUGH I think that was because I was persistent and could advocate for myself. I think there were many barriers that someone who didn't know the process or exactly what they needed, doesn't have access to a phone/computer, didn't have an appointment, or had a language barrier would not have received the same service. read more

Honestly, I've been to a lot of quest locations and this one impressed me. I was in and out in 40 minutes which is actually pretty rare for blood draw locations nowadays. The iPad sign-in process was quick and easy. The front desk staff was very pleasant. Even more importantly the gentleman who drew my blood was super great. He was very friendly and kind. He also really knew what he was doing. I'm usually very hard to draw blood from and most people have to insert a needle multiple times before getting a good vein that won't roll. It only took him one try, he didn't fish for veins, and he got all the samples he needed in a second. I appreciated him so much I had to write this review. First time in a while I was able to walk away from a blood draw with NO bruises! read more

My mom went in for a blood test, Jackie Nguyen (short Asian lady in her 50s) helped my mom out and was super rude to her. When she asked for help, she demanded in vietnamese, "wheres your paperwork!" I understand the job is simple. People come in, fill out paperwork and then you take some blood. Done. I don't know what crawled up her butt! No customer service whatsoever. If you cannot handle the job or play nice, why are you even here? It's part of the customer service industry. Hopefully my mom will go elsewhere next time. read more

The front lady that was working the front was the same one who drew my blood was very rude, came in and mumbled something and when I said "I'm sorry what was that?" She just mad dogged me like I insulted her and in a very rude manner she said "your name" I said my name, and she replied "then sign..." And after that she got my blood and said ok and walked out of the room. And after like 10 min she just looked at me and said " what r u doing? Today, as I have for every three months, went for my quarterly blood letting. Each time I have had the best service that a service facility of this could provide. Not only is the staff friendly and professional, but treat me as if I'm the only person there. The Phlebotomists, the person trained to draw blood, name Hong, is so proficient, that I never feel anything and 90% of the time I never have any bruising. If you are near this facility and need to have blood work I would definitely recommend this facility. I do definitely recommend that you schedule your visit with an appointment as this is one of the more busy labs. read more

Thirteen vials of blood later and I feel fine! Mr. Hong is very good at what he does which includes drawing blood. I was able to move my arm like normal right after. He's not the nicest guy, but that doesn't matter. ... Made an appointment for 9am on a Wednesday. Got there at 8:45 and was seen by 9am by Hong exactly. The waiting room had only about 3 or 4 other people in it at the time. The receptionist was not rude, but just not friendly - just as another review said. Which is fine! Remember: They're not my doctor that I go see, so why should I be upset or offended by their attitude? These are just the people that you go see when your doctor wants a blood or urine sample! That's it. Don't waste your time being so sensitive when it comes to the staff at any of these kinds of places. Takes about two weeks to get results back. read more

Wow what an efficient appointment. I arrived at 2:47 for my 2:45 appointment and was in my truck at 3:02! I highly recommend scheduling an appointment! The waiting room was completely filled yet I was still there less than 15 minutes! I'm here for my pregnancy, some blood and urine tests. I've been to both Quest and Labcorp in this building and I gave Quest the better review bc of who took the blood samples. Instead of picking and prodding where the blood vessel was, he got it on the first try. It was painless and really made me think about the painful experience the other time. All you need to bring is your lab work form from your doctor, driver's license and insurance card. I was seated 15 minutes from my appt time. The wait time wasn't a problem as it was close enough to the 10 minute wait rule. Only complaint was they didn't have any magazines to read while you waited. read more

the Phlebotomists that I have had 3 times, ( 40+ year old Vietnamese Man) is very good, competent, and never has to stick me twice to get a good vein. He is lighthearted and laughs easily, which will relax people, especially those like my wife who are terrified of needles. He gets 5 Stars! The other three employees ( I've seen ) are not as happy to be there, not angry, but so engaged with chatting amongst themselves that you must almost wave to get there attention, or wait for them to finish there non-business related conversation first before being helped. "Have you ever been to a Hoag Hospital facility, where the employees are helpful, informative and happy to be of service?, Well, these Quest employees are the Polar Opposite!" Now I'm at 4 Stars., My final (generous 3 Stars) takes the office in to account, because it has 25 to 30 chairs, but has Zero Tables, Trees, Posters or artwork, Zero TV, (typically with Health related News), or background music, and one thing I've never seen, not One Piece of reading material, i.e., Magazines, brochures, newspaper or even medical literature? Fast. Accepts most insurance. Walked in at 4pm without an appointment. And left at 415pm. They are quick and straight to the point. It didn't hurt one bit. There was no bruising either. My only gripe is that they don't use actual band aids. Just a cotton ball and some tape. It came off immediately when I was pulling out of the parking lot. But it's not a big deal. read more

First of all... Why does it take 20 minutes for a blood draw? I help draw when it's super busy at work. I can take care of at least 4 people in 20 minutes in an outpatient setting. Came in yesterday at 1155 & the receptionist was very rude: "we're closed"... I told her I only needed two tubes it would be quick. She said they already clocked out for lunch. There wasn't a "hello I'm so sorry we are on lunch now but we will be back in an hour" ... Nope. Just straight up rude like I was inconveniencing her by my existence. Worst customer service ever!!! Hong is thee NUMBER #1 blood test taker!!!!!!!!! Both my mom who is 84 and I have gone to the hospital and they literally take over an hour of people digging for my mother's veins and torturing her...even at the best hospitals! and they end up doing an ultrasound to find her veins! U won't believe I had too many bad experience in Irvine, the guy tried my two arms and one hand, then no more blood came out, so he asked me to come next day to complete my blood test. I usually get my lab work done at a hospital, but since my deductible wasn't met, I thought I would try to save a little money. Big mistake. Online scheduling was easy enough. I arrived 5 minutes before my appointment time. The waiting room of about 30 chairs was completely empty. That should have been a warning sign. The man at my desk took my orders, made a copy of my insurance card and told me to sit down. There were literally no other patients in the office and at least 2 techs. What exactly was I waiting for? The same man then mumbled something loudly. Given that I was the only patient there, I assumed he was calling my name. I peered in the door & asked if he called me which earned me an eye roll & barking order in to room number 1. I let him know I am allergic to adhesive, including paper tape. He says that's all they have. That's it? It's a lab...there are only a handful of supplies you need. Adhesive allergies are not that uncommon...how can you not have the medically necessary options? 2 days later, after having the paper tape on my arm for about 30 minutes, I still have a rash. And for the love of God, why can't the lab at least have the appearance of cleanliness. You have no patients, why don't you get to work on sanitizing something. Gross, gross, gross. I've been coming here over the past several years and have always had a pleasant experience. The staff is always friendly and the wait times are shorter than other locations. Parking is close by and always available. They could use a little decorating in the waiting room but I'm guessing this is a lower budget office.
