No considerations for fasting old people that forget to get appointments and waited for 1hr just to see if they can be accomodated because they are already there. Old people having a hard time going to lab itself but still no considerations. They felt dizzy, multiple times asked if they can be drawn. Dont go here if no appointment they will not consider you in anyway. We know you are busy but old people tend to forget things like appointment. Must have considerations for them. read more

I set an appoitment online , I checked in on my phone and I was called back 1 minute after my set time.You really cannot get any better than that.I had Phlebotomist Luis who was sweet and skilled .I was at a HB location less than 2 weeks ago and in total they jabbed me 7 times in 3 different locations .They ended up having to draw blood from the top of both hands because my vein blew in the first hand.I explained to Luis if he just confidently inserts the needle all the way in on my forearm we will be good to go .He knew what to do and in 1 attempt I was out of there in just a couple mintures.Waiting area was clean but I was seen so fast I didnt even have a chance to sit down.If anyone out there has a hard timje w dras GO SEE LUIS at this location ! read more

I went in a few days ago for my 3 hour glucose testing at this location. No concerns with setting up an appointment and then taking you in at a reasonable timeframe. I NEVER write reviews but I had to for this one because it is bothering me days later. I had to have my blood drawn each hour for 3 hours. The first phlebotomist, John was wonderful. I told him from the start I had small veins and drawing blood was always an issue wherever I went but my right arm was always where the vein can be found best. He was gentle, tried finding my vein and used the butterfly. Even gave me the recommendation to always ask for the butterfly because my veins are so small. It was easy and painless. The second phlebotomist, Luis was a different story. I told him my concern and what John had recommended and he did whatever he wanted on the left side of my arm (hard to find any veins). See picture below. Absolutely ridiculous! No care and no concern about what I said. He just jabbed a regular needle in there. Hours later it still hurt. Third blood draw got John again and he went back to my right arm. Again painless and easy. Last blood draw I got a woman who like John was extremely professional, nice and listened to what I said. She asked me which arm I preferred and I said right. Easy and painless. You'll see my right arm-I had my blood drawn 4 times and no issues!!! Nothing hurt. But my left arm hurt me hours after and as you can see swelled up and turned into a black and blue bruise. Horrible! Someone should talk to Luis about being more professional and actually listen instead of doing whatever he wants to do! read more

It would not be right if I didn't give credit where credit is due. We took our 1 year old here for an allergy test. Made an appointment, checked in on time, and our total wait time was about 10 minutes. The phlebotomist, Sunny was her name, was excellent. She was patient and answered all our questions beforehand and understood our concerns of drawing blood from our baby girl. She had to fill up one of the larger tubes and was very gentle with our daughter. She found the right vein, accessed it, and our girl hardly cried. We give a lot of credit to Sunny in her professionalism and care. We left the facility at 10:25am, so we were there for a total of 25 minutes. Tips: -Call and make an appt. We went on a Wed at 10am and I overheard the walk-in wait time was 1-2 hours. -I also overheard they offer seniors only time between 7:30am-8:30am. I set an appointment on line. I showed up at a 2:40 appointment for me and a 2:50 appointment for my daughter. I checked myself in and then I realized I had forgotten my bloodwork order from the doctor. Latoya was outstanding. She helped me check my daughter in for her 2:50 pm appointment while I tried to figure out what to do about my situation. She was kind, considerate and extremely helpful. I called my wife and she sent me a picture of the order I had left at home. Latoya helped me email the image to the office so I didn't have to come back a second time. I was getting frustrated and angry with myself. But, she was so calm and helpful. So, I gradually calmed down and before you knew it, it was all done. Latoya is an amazing employee. this is the worst quest i had ever been to. i got here 20 minutes before my appointment, checked in on a ipad and let the front desk know that my dr had faxed over my information and lab reports. AFTER 30 minutes of waiting she then decides to let me know that their fax machine has been broken all morning. so me just sitting there all morning was a complete waste of time. read more

You schedule an appointment, get there and check in with a machine similarly to an airport check in and then....wait. None at the front desk and zero information. People wait for a while and then leave. The flobotomists work as flobotomists and receptionists. The flobotomist actually did a good job, just wished they didnt have to do 2 jobs. 5 stars to flobotomist, zero to the place. I did not pay for parking instead I parked in the back of the building ( Florista St.) and I walked a few steps. When I entered the office was empty and there was no one waiting...the office was nice and clean and the receptionist was very friendly my phlebotomist, was Jon Andresen , he was calm and relaxed and I was nervous and scared but in a matter of seconds he managed to find my vein and it was quick and painless . I have to make appmts for my husband frequently for cancer treatments and every time I try and do it online I get as far as why are you coming in and it won't go any further. After playing this run around game several times I call and just want to speak to a real person which is impossible. Try and do the automated thing and after listening to their long recording they say all the lines are busy, try again later. Very frustrating to say the least. There has got to be a better way to make an appmt!!!. read more

This is my "go to" Quest Labs when I need tests done. I knew I was going to be running 5-10 minutes late and I'd saved their direct dial number and fax number in my contacts from a couple visits ago. A tad frustrating that both times I called. it went to voice mail. Plus I couldn't re-schedule on their app which I have, message was, no available appointments left today, which was understandable....after all it was close to 3 pm. And the day after Memorial Day. So, I just did my best to get here ASAP, arriving just seven minutes late. The first thing I noticed was the usual receptionist was not at the check-in desk. I thought, wow they must be really busy. There was one other person sitting in the waiting area and just before the phlebotomist appeared and called me back, someone else arrived. There is a recorded message playing to address questions and procedures upon arrival and how to check in. A newcomer would have no problem figuring out what to do. I had just been there perhaps five minutes when a patient exited and the phlebotomist called me back. I apologized for the lateness and explained how I had tried to alert them that I was running late but no one picked up the phone. My phlebotomists name was LaToya. LaToya was very sweet, kind and gracious, immediately alleviating my concerns about being a bit late. This really made me feel at ease. LaToya and I shared some brief pleasantries and she got to work. I am used to getting stuck with needles anyway, but LaToya was very careful and it didn't hurt at all! She was also very consciousness about the labels she placed on the three tubes of blood she had drawn. She showed me all of it and asked me to look and verify tif the info on the tubes was correct, which it was. I, personally like this double checking procedure and asking the patient to verify for correctness. That means, less errors or mix-ups. In our chatting I had asked, why no receptionist? She told me, they all rotate being receptionist if there are not enough blood draw rooms to all have their own space/area to work in. And if they are short a room, that person works at the desk/check-in area until someone else swaps her out. I never knew that! Every-time I've gone there, there was always an individual sitting at the check-in desk. So, I learned something new today. LaToya explained that at that moment there were two phlebotomists on duty, both working and just were not able to answer the phone when I'd called. She apologized for this. LaToya should be recognized and commended for her professionalism (by not making a big deal about being so busy there wasn't anyone to work front desk), her competency and overall caring, patient oriented and cheerful demeanor. A lot of people are anxious about getting blood drawn and LaToya has the skills and caring attitude to make anyone feel better knowing they were in very capable hands. I have never had any negative issues coming here, nor have I experienced any excessive waiting. I pass two other Quest Lab locations on my way to this one, preferring this one in Los Alamitos. Healthcare is an ever changing field especially now, and having to roll with-the-punches and be open during a pandemic.....well, I think these individuals working as essential workers deserve kudos! I read some of the other reviews here and saw that sometimes management makes comments/responses back. I hope they will, on my review and let me know that perhaps LaToya has been recognized or a copy of this review placed in her personnel file. She's definitely a KEEPER! Keep that girl happy and well compensated as she is certainly a huge asset to your company. read more

Today, August 18, 2023, I was a walk-in at this Quest Lab. I give it a +. Everyone here was so nice & helpful. I needed blood work due to an upcoming surgery so I didn't have time to make an appointment. I was in & out in about 15 minutes. Latoya drew my blood & she was outstanding. I would give her 10 stars . I didn't even feel her put the needle in my arm. Thank you Quest but especially Latoya for being so wonderful with me today. read more

Nice and clean. Social distancing is.observed and they kept the place organized. They're systemic and they know their stiff. The lady in the front Frances is very nice and accomodating. She was very helpful even to people without appointments. I arrived early and they stuck to my appointment promptly. My advice is to make an appointment. Drawing blood sucks enough, but when the receptionist/nurse is rude and seems like she hates her job every single time I come in--it sucks even more. Quit your job and do something where you don't have to deal with people, because you make a hard thing even harder. Horrible attitude. What's worse is that she made a mistake and "forgot" to do all the tests that were ordered. Had to come back and do it all over again. She needs to be fired. Find another quest. I'm sure it makes no difference to her, but it WILL make a difference to you. read more

This is for the Cherry St. location in Los Alamitos. Horrible experience. Took 2 hours to get everything done, and there weren't that many people there. Service is really, really bad here. Rudeness abounds and they will tell you whatever they think you want to hear. It's also unclean. There was blood on the sink, a bloody gauze on the floor, and shreded printout paper all over the place. I could get into all kinds of other details, but do you really need to know more? Just pick another location. I can say that Quest should make it mandatory that the staff here all travel to the Burbank location on Alameda and see how it's done. That place is superb. I'll give this facility three stars because nothing went wrong with the procedure and everything went fine. However, I was met with rude service while signing in and asking for a request. Originally I had asked my doctor's office send the order to another Quest location, but I changed my location of choice due to an earlier scheduling availability. When asking if they would be able to check if they have it in their system or if they could retrieve it from the other facility, I was met with resistance. The person at the front desk told me that I should have called the other facility before coming, only after I stated I tried to do so and the machine told me I would be able to ask them for help was she willing, but she didn't have the number. So I had to grab the number myself, and even while I was being assisted another coworker came up to her and said, "you know they can do that on their own right?" Well I tried and was on the phone with a machine for much too long. Anyway, long story short, rude customer service, but still got the job done quickly and efficiently. read more

I had an appointment for 8:30am. I arrived at 8:10am. I checked in and everything, so I sat down. I figured I would have to wait since I came early and people probably had appointments before me. As time passed I realized the people who were in the waiting area weren't there when I first arrived. It was 8:50am at this point and people who got there after me was being called in and being helped first. It's close to work, since I can't take off an hour due to my security job (pretty much have to scheudule appointments, classes, etc. before or after work hours). I was only expecting to have blood drawn, but of course, I had to also give a urine sample. Great, not an hour after I used the gents, the technician tells me that. Of course, my doctor didn't. Made an appointment and went through the text check in process which is actually a great idea but if you don't have front staff to greet you for basic questions then it is crap in practice. After checking in via text I was directed to come up and it took about 45 minutes to be called in for my scheduled appointment. There is zero front desk staff. ZERO. It seems phlebotomist are acting as front desk staff the last two visits I've had here. So sad! This is not a good process. Taking my insurance dollars elsewhere. I am not bringing my insurance money here to receive county like services. Long wait and poor customer service. It's not fair to your hardworking phlebotomists to work under conditions like this! I fear for my health safety knowing that they have to function as front desk personnel AND phlebotomist! There is a lot of pressure to move fast and this allows for mistakes and health contamination in my opinion. I noticed prices went up significantly too! Went this morning for lab work, personal were very unpleasant. I also was to be given a kit to take for a test and they negotiated to give it to me and I had to make a extra trip back to get it. When I went back the lady was very ugly to me. I prefer Lab Corp they are so much nicer. read more

They need more staff! Nobody sits at the front desk. The techs come up in between patients to collect information, which in turn slows down the entire process, especially when people keep asking them questions. I have been here over an hour and still two people ahead of me. This seems like a Quest problem and not an employee problem. With this kind of volume, you could definitely afford more staff Quest! I've been to places with worse parking situations, so I don't understand the complaints here. For quick lab trips, there are free parking spaces outside the main parking lot. Otherwise, it's only $2 for 2 hrs & then $5 for up to 5 hrs. I also haven't had any issues with the ladies in the office. They've all been friendly, helpful, understanding, & are efficient. read more
