I had my call returned within about 15 minutes. Andre's a super friendly guy, pretty funny dude. He wasn't overscheduled and was able in my case to accommodate a next-day appointment. I paid up front over Venmo, feeling comfortable with it because of his good reputation on here. And indeed he did not disappoint. Andre showed up to my house exactly on time. He went over the instructions of the kit for the test I was having done, and already knew what to expect. He asked the right questions - "Are there ice packs with this one?" "Does it need to be centrifuged?" He was even such a pro he knew which cabinet door held my garbage can without looking. The poke itself was right on the money, nearly painless, and without complication. He took the kit with him to do the postal dropoff himself - it was included with his services. One less thing for me to have to do, which was appreciated. We shook hands, said goodbye, and that was that. He did not solicit me for a Yelp review. A lot of service providers will offer deals to customers in hopes of scamming their way into a good review - it's a red flag whenever I see it and it makes me mad for having wasted time reading reviews that were essentially bought. I had my blood drawn this morning by Andreh in my home and it was a completely positive experience from start to finish- he was kind, personable, compassionate, incredibly easy to interact with, and the blood draw itself was quick and pain free. The most significant thing about it was that after a year of being stuck around the area of my home and having limited in-person interactions with people because of my illness, he made me feel like a human being again, which I appreciate more than I can adequately express. I've had a ton of interactions with a myriad of different medical personnel (I was born with Spina Bifida and now have some suspected auto-immune/nutirition defiency issues) and this was one of the very best interactions I have had with a health professional, and it gives me faith in this process again. I was searching for labs or phlebotomists that were experienced with kids when I came across Andreh. Finding him was such a blessing. My 3 year old son is on growth hormone treatment and needs blood to be taken out regularly. Every time I would take him to the lab, the phlebotomists would have trouble finding his vein and have to puncture him more than once or once he was punctured they would have to move the needle around and fish for his vein. Andreh came and did it with one puncture, so much faster and smoothly than we have previously experienced, that my son was not in much discomfort for long. It was crazy at our house this morning, too crazy for me to check my texts on the way back from taking my husband to work--only one of the many anomalies for me this morning--to find that The Blood Guy was going to be earlier even than he'd said. So, I ended up being late for the appointment. I am very sorry for that. Despite all the craziness at our house, The Blood Guy was quick, professional, and calm, which was amazingly helpful to my agitated state. Oh, and I hate to have my blood drawn and usually people have to cajole my veins into working, but The Blood Guy got all those vials (and there were a few!) filled quickly and almost painlessly. I can't stand getting an IV or blood drawn, and have had some previous experiences of fainting as well as tears every time.
