I had nothing short of an amazing experience here-on the positive end. I was helped by Austin and Beatriz, and they were very efficient and made me feel very at ease. I am not the best with this process as I have almost passed out before getting my blood drawn, and they made this the best experience I have ever had. So easy, only lasted about a minute or a little less, and the longest part was entering my information in the system. My mom and I usually have no issues at this location. I always make her an appointment beforehand and give all the insurance info to save time. We made an appointment for 12 noon. Walked into a full waiting room and a quiet lab. After about 5 minutes a lady walked I. With a bag of food and then some activity was actually heard in the back. I'd say they are running about 30 minutes behind as it is now 12:25 and my moms name still hasn't been called. I think they need to hire more staff. read more

My appointment was 10:30am. and I was served by Rose. My blood test is yearly check up and should be covered by insurance. after Rose entering all the information to computer, I was told that I have about $70 copayment that I can pay by card. or I can wait for the Bill. I am confused and said I would like to check with my insurance company first. After calling my insurance company, they mentioned that I shouldn't pay anything. I walked back, and talked with another person to see if there is someone else could double check for me. I was told that I walked away and my appointment time has passed. so I have to checked in as no appointment patient. I am super frustrate and try to argue. And they were willing to take me earlier. After the other staff entering my information to the computer. I was told I do not have any copayment. I am super confused and asked how come two different persons enter the same information to your computer, and get different result of payment. Their reply is they do not know, it is the computer. May happened. This whole morning I spent almost two hours with this drama. And what they blame is the computer. Their excuse is they serve over 200 patients everyday. Had an order from my doctors to get some blood work done. Showed up today and was assisted with Katie at the front desk. Her patient care was phenomenal all around. From helping me with my insurance and making sure i was able to get what i needed done. And also having the patience in assisting patients who needed help with just checking in. If I can only give 0 star I will give 0. Quest Diagnostics have a bad scheduling whatever. I called their hotline for an appointment. The code given for every scheduled appointment was stated that you will use the no if there are changes and if you need to cancel it. Since I was in the car doing the appointment and does not have a pen I did not wrote it, for they say AGAIN THAT YOU WIll USE THE CODE IF THERE'S A NEED TO RESCHEDULE. My sister went to Alumn Rock site where my mom, sister and I scheduled for this coming sat. Upon checking the employee informed my sister that we can not check the upcoming schedule by using the name, and birthday as well as checking in for saturdays appointment. Very friendly and professional staffs This lab has clean environment and very friendly staffs. I came for blood test but forgot to bring doctor's order that I did not recognize until Jill asked. My mistake. Jill allowed me to bring back and informed to front desk. When I came back with paper, I was guided to Jill right away and could continue processing and took blood. Jill was very friendly and professional to recover my mistake. It happened on Saturday morning between 7:00AM and 7:25AM including unnecessary 15minutes round trip to home. I don't think I have ever been so happy coming in for a blood test before. This location is fantastic! Great costumer service! The wait time is also displayed on a TV screen to let you know the expected wait time. The phlebotomist who drew my blood was extremely careful! I have small veins and they're so deep! I had the best service here, unbelievably helpful throughout the whole process. I wasn't given a doctors note for my surgery so I had to just pick and choose whatever deemed useful. All the staff here was super patient, accommodating and VERY educational with the process. We are still in a pandemic right now so sanitation is a must, this place goes above and beyond! It usually takes several countless tries to draw blood from me. Jill inserted the needle once! Once! And drew ample amounts of blood. Quick and painless! She is a pro! Came in on the Saturday before Christmas to have my blood drawn. I'd previously landed myself here due to a fainting episode (about 2 days before) and the staff was extremely friendly and understanding, so I wanted to come back here specifically for my blood test. The lobby is quite spacious and the staff I've encountered have been nothing but friendly, courteous, and caring. My phlebotomist could tell I was nervous -- I hate blood tests -- but she did everything in her power to make me as comfortable as possible. It happened to be a cold day; she even brought in a mini-heater! I'm regretful I didn't get her name. She took 4 tubes of blood, despite some difficulty doing so due to my blood flow, which caused me to become extremely lightheaded and dizzy. Instead of rushing me out (as other places I've been to have), she advised I take my time and offered me water. Overall, an amazing experience here. A bit of a drive in comparison to other centers I've visited, but I'm sticking with this one for whenever I'm in the Bay. read more

I had bad experiences from Quest Diagnostics at other locations in the past, and have read some mostly very negative review from yelp about Quest Diagnostics from other patients, I always feel highly anxious to visit Quest Diagnostics. Due to insurance change, I have to use Quest Diagnostics again this time. I carefully researched the different locations of Quest Diagnostics, finally found out that the location at Alum Rock ave in San Jose has better reviews from other patients. I arrived at 9:13 am, it's not overly crowded. The front desk Indian lady is friendly and good in English communication. After wait for 20 min, it's my turn to get the blood drawn.I have a tiny vein, and in many places, the persons who did my blood drawn failed 50% of the time, they have to try several attempts to get it done or find another persons better in skill to get the job done. I am very nervous to go to Quest Diagnostics to get the blood drawn because the previous bad experiences and other patients' reviews. In the majority of the cases, Quest Diagnostics have very few well trained technicians compared to Stanford Hospital because Quest Diagnostics charges much less. The technician, Mrs. Mercy, is an exception. I told her that I have small vein and get failed by many people, and she proceeded carefully with all due diligence and preparation, finally, with only one attempt, she succeed with very little pain. The whole process is a good experience, and I am surprised that Quest Diagnostics does have good location and technicians. read more

We went in on Saturday Jan 26, 2019 morning for some blood work to be done. Long story short, we went in for our physician follow up appointment yesterday so we can know the results of these tests only for our physician to tell us that this Quest never sent them the results. That they actually stated they DO NOT have any record of us going for this blood work. That we never got the blood work done? So What they made me understand, especially if they claim they don't have any records is that these people LOST these lab results! How can a place lose something so delicate as lab results? I am beyond appalled and furious. I don't understand how something so unprofessional like this can happen. Now we have to take time out of work to get this lab work done AGAIN and have to wait weeks for us to receive lab results, and not only that but it raises concerns as to what can possibly be going on with our health and not being able to know because people have lost our results has REALLY concerned us. read more

This quest diagnostics is by far the best location I have ever gone to, EVER! 7/20/18 was my 3rd trip and they keep getting better! I had an appointment the first time but the last two times had to walk in and it was still super quick. They are organized and efficient. The lab slip was given by an Urgent Care and did not have all the necessary information needed. This location was quick to call the Urgent Care and figure it out. (I visited 2 other quest locations who turned me away with this lab slip, not ok!!) I also have challenging veins to draw blood and as soon as I let them know they got the expert (someone called her Mama, but I forgot her name) and had her take my blood to make sure I only got poked once! So sweet! Even though I live in Almaden I will make the trip to this location for such excellent service. Thank you to this amazing staff!! read more

This place is a JOKE! I don't want to give them ANY STAR AT ALL! They lost my stool sample, then when I came in to take a new test they found it again. Poor excuse for a laboratory. I've been waiting for my results for samples i dropped off on the 27th of September. THIS PLACE IS AWFUL and if I don't get a full refund or even a call back I will be filing a lawsuit. Pink was at the counter helping me out, so when she found out I didn't have insurance, she went out of her way to help me obtain the bloodwork at a lower rate. She told me all of the different routes I could order the test through so it would lower the cost. This ended up saving me almost $400! ***Recommendation: Make an appointment through there website and be there on time!! I went to there website on Wednesday to make an appointment for Saturday because I read the Yelp reviews (from different locations) and the reviewers recommended to make an appointment before you go. Saturday came by and I went to my appointment. It was very packed (extremely packed, almost like sardines in a can), however I form the line and when it was my turn I told the receptionist that I made an appointment. She took my paperworks and told me to wait until I get called. I waited about 15-20 mins until someone called me and I went inside. I waited about another extra 10-15 mins. I got called and went into the room to take my blood test. I talked to the nurse and she was very nice. She told me that this place is packed and busy every single day. I was in and out from Quest Diagnostics in 1 hour. Also, I want to add that my doctor told me I can just walk-in and I don't need to make any appointments. Luckily, I did my research and did my appointment. I heard from other patients that they've been waiting for 2 hours until they got called (and that's not to get your blood test, you still have to wait until the nurse calls you again to take you into the room). I can't complain about the staff because I can see they're trying their best. It's very packed and the amount of staffing is not the appropiate compared to the amount of patients they have. I came here to get my blood drawn and was pretty impressed with how quick the process went and how nice the staff was. The only thing I didn't like/was confused about was the fact that they had drawn a couple tubes of my blood from my arm before proceeding to tell me that my insurance was no longer able to be used at their establishment, then taking my blood and sending me to a different establishment to get my blood drawn there instead. read more
