TERRIBLE business. I dropped off a John Deere self-propelled walk behind mower and Yard Man lawn vac for tune up and a Honda generator for repair. I try to support local small businesses when I can and I gave this kid a LOT of grace. While he had my equipment he moved locations. After a couple of moths of contacting him several times, I finally went to get my equipment. The generator was in pieces, the lawn vac was never worked on (and the bag was lost in the storage/move), and my mower was given to a different customer even though I had the numbered service tag ticket stub. His suggestion to resolve the issue was "I guess you'll have to take me to court"! I stand firmly on this review and suggest that NO ONE DO BUSINESS WITH HIM. read more

Had Wildwood out to service snowblower in December. They cleaned carburetor and checked oil. I ran the snowblower twice since then for approx 2 hours, the 2nd time the engine threw a rod through the block. As I am having the engine replaced, it's very clear gasoline was mixed with the oil, therefore providing less than optimal support for the engine. Think twice about using Wildwood read more

Don't waste your time or money! SWFL location is a joke. They use AI for their communication, either text or email. They came out to diagnosis my zero steer lawnmower, the tech had no idea what to do, so they only charged for a service call. A few days later, someone from the company called and said they would send out another tech who knew what to do. I get an AI message to set up appt, I get another message a few days later, asking me when I will set up an appt. The day they were suppose to come, I get a final message that will cancel my appt because the first tech cannot work on the problem! I wasted over one week of my time with this inefficient company. DO NOT USE THEM! This company price gouges! I made a request to have my snow blower evaluated. Unknown to me was that there was a service charge ($100), separate from a diagnostic fee ($50). I was only made aware of the diagnostic fee. First, these fees being separate are ridiculous! Why would I pay someone to come out if I were not going to have them diagnose my equipment? It makes no sense! They should make it CLEAR that it is a $150 charge for them to come out regardless of whether or not you have them perform a repair. Had I known, I would not have used them. Once the tech arrived, within 5 minutes he indicated the problem was my carburetor and it needed to be cleaned. The initial charge he told me was $260. I thought it was a little expensive but I was OK with paying it. Within another 5 minutes the price changed twice, to $310, then to $360. I declined to have the work done because I could double the amount and replace my virtually brand new blower. I believe this company to be very deceptive, using questionable consumer tactics. I will only be paying the $50 I understood to be the cost! If necessary I will take them to court and spend a lot more to dispute this absurd amount! read more

After calling them to get the tech to come back out, they said they would have to charge me another service fee. Service man was obnoxious and price quoted on phone not what was charged. Was quoted 75 dollars but was charged $110.09 trip fee band $45 for diagnosis. Was more than what I was told and it still wasn't repaired. The technician arrived at my house on time. He did not bring his truck with all the tools and parts to fix my lawn mower. With the limited quantity of tools he had in his car, he guessed that the problem was a bad ground. But he could not fix it because he did not have his truck with all his tools and supplies. So, in order to fix the lawn mower according to him, he had to come back the next day. The reason he gave me that he needed to come back the next day was because he had another client to go to. This situation was a lack of honesty and trying to make as much money as possible. The company billed $85 for the guy (Jesse) to come to my house unprepared to do the job, $50 for Jesse to guess what the problem with my riding lawn mower was and another $45 for the follow up visit the next day for Jesse to come to fix the ground cable. I cancelled the next day appointment because I had the bad feeling that Jesse was going to say that the engine had problems too and the engine would have to be fixed before he could fix the ground cable. Before he left on the day in question, he was already hinting that the engine had problems which I know it did not. The whole problem was an electric issue. My advice to people who need their lawn mower fixed is to take it to a shop and good luck. Do not use this company. I made the mistake of reading the reviews and took a chance hopping that I was going to be lucky and have my lawn mower repaired and I failed. This company is scam. read more

Tried to charge 10 times the price for parts. Sent a tech who showed up on crutches who just took panels off generator and said it was the carburetor. They cancelled twice and rescheduled to receive poor unprofessional service. When you charge high prices you should provide high quality service. Unreliable. Does not show on time - or at all. Unprofessional. Did not discuss repair options or cost prior to commencing work-just started tearing the mower apart, which it still doesn't run! I don't want to waste much time here commenting on how lousy the whole experience was and rarely write reviews at all, but felt as a member of society it was my duty to put out a warning on this one. When I first called on April 15 to ask if he could repair my mower, he gave me an estimate of 4-5 days and seemed pretty confident he could fix it, so I dropped off the mower for repair. After 2 weeks, I called back and he said he had to order a new part. Part was expected any day but was delayed due to COVID situation. I placed several more calls to get an update; voice mailbox was full and could not leave a message, although I usually did get a call back. However, each time we talked there was some other reason why the mower was not yet done. He called May 20, said he needed 3 more days, but when I tried to schedule a pick-up right after Memorial Day, he said he needed 4 more days to complete the repair. We eventually ended up picking up the mower on June 1 without completing the repair. read more

I called to make an appointment to have a drive belt that slipped the pulley put back on....a riding lawnmower. Spoke to Trace, who said he would meet me at 3:00pm that same day. I never saw or heard from him. He called a day later wanting to know if I still needed his services. I replied with "you're kidding" I did not see or hear from you the day before. No, I contacted someone else who fixed it later that day. No apology or explanation as to why he didn't contact me. I should have known from the initial conversation. He didn't seem to be all that interested and was going to try and charge me a $75 trip charge instead of his usual $45....according to some of the other negative reviews on him. Wow! read more

I used their services twice. BOTH times the agreed upon price changed significantly AFTER the job was done. I let it go the first time. The second time he literally tried to more than double the price on me! As a business owner myself, I tried to explain to him that I have his quote in writing and that is what I'm willing to pay. HIDDEN FEES are not the way to build a solid reputation and client base. Not only did he harass me via text and phone calls for 2 days after, he accused me of "taking advantage of a young business owner". Who's taking advantage of who here?? For clarification; I searched mobile lawn mower repair. He popped up with an ad that says "Mobile" and a card that says "We do house calls". He came to my house the first time and that was discussed at the time of the quote. Price was more than quoted. 2nd time; came to my house to make a minor repair. Price more than doubled for less than an hour of work. He kept saying sarcastically and unprofessionally, "I don't drive to a job and not charge a house call fee". THEN PUT THAT IN YOUR QUOTE! YOU ARE A MOBILE LAWN MOWER REPAIR COMPANY. INCLUDE ALL FEES IN THE QUOTE YOU GIVE YOUR CUSTOMER OR DON'T BE SURPRISED WHEN A CUSTOMER ISN'T WILLING TO PAY THE INFLATED PRICE. And definitely don't blame the customer when you misquote them then try to guilt trip them into paying more than they agreed to pay! read more

Wildwood Small Engine Repair should have a rating of 0. Trace was 2 hours late to a scheduled meeting. He has a lot to learn about business and based on my experience will take advantage of the elderly and people who do not have a means to take their mower somewhere for professional service. For a mobile repair service, he had no tools, equipment, or parts with him to complete any repairs. Trace used my equipment to put a belt back on a riding mower that had slipped off; told me that I needed to go to the hardware store to get a nut to fix the front wheel of a push mower; and then charged me an exorbitant amount of money for the five to ten minutes of his time. Trace did not have a price list or a noted hourly rate. I would never use this company again. My advice to Trace is to start pricing your work reasonably and don't try to make the quick buck because the most valuable resource is your customers and their word of mouth that will bring you more customers! Be timely and don't promise something that you cannot deliver. If you "screw" the wrong people they can ruin your business and receiving too many negative comments take a lot to overcome! read more
