We were locked out of our house on a day when the temp was 2 degrees and windchills were below 0! The locksmith showed up in 30 minutes from our call, was very nice, very professional and really worked to solve our problem. When it became apparent that he could not pick out lock; he was able to find a very creative way to get us into our house. He also helped me to identify a few security risks that we have now solved. Quick Key installed an intercom/buzzer system for our condo building. They gave excellent service and a very good price (much less than competitors quoted for the same equipment). Although the job wound up taking much more work to complete than they had originally estimated, they stuck to their original quoted rate and kept at it until the unit was fully installed and functioning. They also recently made an after-installation service visit for no charge when a storm knocked out the intercom (and showed me how to fix it myself next time). I cannot rate Quick Key highly enough. Amazing service...I lost my only key/keyfob for my car, after doing some research I found that there were automotive locksmiths that were actually able to cut a key, and replace and program a new key fob on site where your car is located. I found a few different services and got quotes from each of them...Not only was Gal the most prompt responder but he also gave me the most affordable quote. I made an appointment for the following morning. (He was also the only one who didn't give me the "I'm going to rip you off" vibe lol rather the opposite). Gal showed up, worked quickly, and was very easy going and polite...he ended up not having the exact fob I requested and instead gave me a fob that cost him more but still charged me the original quoted price. Gal literally made the situation as stress free as could be and was done programming 2 fobs in about an hour (I ended up buying 2 fobs for good measure). My locksmith came 40 minutes after I called (scheduled to be 20 mins). We spent over an hour outside my door and he couldn't pick the lock. He gave me two choices: drill through my lock and break my lock OR drill in between my door and break my door. After a few more failing tries, he drilled through my lock and broke it. I was charged the full amount of $100 because he said "we charge by if you get into your place NOT how we do it". REALLY?!?! I could have done that if that's the case. read more

Scheduling was done in 48 hours (non-emergency), he arrived in the allotted 2-hour window, and did an excellent job. While visiting, he pointed out a couple additional projects our association needed done but hadn't contracted out the work yet for - he hammered all 3 entry projects out in less than 2 hours, including installing a new access gate knob. I called Quick Key Locksmith to open my apartment door which is uses a key fob. Perhaps they sent someone with very little experience because he was having such a hard time with the door and seemed overwhelmed. 20 minute into trying to open the door his boss calls and I overheard say he's still working on the door. Another 20 to 30 minutes pass by and he gets another call from his boss, it turns out they have a master key for my building and I could have taken the locksmith a few minutes to let me in my apartment. The reason for the one star review isn't the lack of competence or the length of time it took to open the door. The reason for the one star review is the damage the locksmith caused to my door and wall. This guy completely ruined a brand new wall and caused damage to the door that I will surely have to pay for if or when I move out of my apartment. I recently moved into a condo with a storage unit in the basement. The unit had a knob lock with no key. After moving in I decided I needed to get the lock opened. I called quick key lock in the morning and requested they come to my condo that evening (between 8-9pm). Josh arrived right on time. I showed him down to the storage unit and it took him all of about 2 minutes to pop open the lock. My only gripe about this place and why I can't give them five stars: - The whole thing cost $120.00 ($10 off once I mentioned Yelp) - it was $55 just for him to show up and I have no idea why the rest of it was so $$. He did give me the quote before he did anything but I wasn't really in a position to negotiate. Granted I don't have a ton of experience with locksmiths but this seems high. - Also, they take cash, credit or personal checks - the credit card has a 3% convenience fee so I opted for the personal check. This company is not a honest company. I have a buzzer system that the postal office key switch had a problem. They came replaced a part with about $200. Then they tried to ask me to replace the whole system with an about $3500 quote. Actually the whole system works just fine. I eventually found the part that they replaced at the Devon hardware store. Kyle showed up at the adjusted time, found the problem ( low -voltage---strike release) and got it fixed in a most efficient manner. From my experience this place was a class act. They sent out Josh immediately and he was friendly, prompt, knowledgeable and all around very professional. I had them out to replace a door strike on the intercom. After examination Josh said he honestly didn't feel it needed to be replaced immediately and he just sprayed with some lubricant. i had a great experience with Josh. I called one lock smith because i was locked out of my apartment (at 2pm) and they told me they couldnt get someone to me until 7pm so i kept calling other ones. Thankfully i called Quick Key and they had someone to me in about 30 mins. He also found out that the lock was installed wrong on my door and made a note of it on the invoice so i could give it to the building management. The only reason I put 4 stars is because of the cost of $110. I would have felt really pleased with paying $75 or even $90. However as an econ major I'm always looking for a better deal. You can't win them all. If you need to get into your apartment fast, it's worth the cost. If you don't have anything better to do but sit outside your door and wait for 4 hours ( to save some money) keep calling people. read more
