2 days before my daughter's birthday party, I notice a very active, completely hidden, bumble bee hive with a main bee entrance right where people would be sitting on the deck. I ask the landlord to send an exterminator. Instead, the landlord shows up with a can of spray and sprays into the bee entrance. After emptying the entire can, he leaves. Next morning, 3 hours before the party, I start arranging things outside. The bees, which have always been docile and consistently avoided confrontations with humans in the past, were TICKED OFF! It was like they became completely different creatures. Highly aggressive. Literally attempting to fly into my mouth, up my pants, chasing me around the yard. I told my wife "We're going to have to reschedule." Of course that made my wife just as angry as the bees. So I decided to use Yelp to find a highly recommended PROFESSIONAL exterminator in my area. Quick Kill seemed like the obvious choice. Called them up at 8:30 am. John answered the phone immediately and was at my door in less than an hour! He thoroughly examined and explored the problem from every angle. Then he killed them bees! Hundreds of them. Then he treated the entire exterior of the house so they wouldn't re-nest. He informed me, that since we had to kill the bees during the day in order to resolve the problem before the party, not all of them would be present and some would return. But thanks to the product he left in the hive, those bees would died too. And that's exactly what happened. Within a couple hours the bees were gone. Our party guests had no clue that a problem ever existed. John saved my daughter's birthday party! He was very polite, friendly, sincere, skilled, thorough and respectful. He even made sure to keep my herbs out of harms way. Not only did he take care of the bees. He also took care of the spiders that had been coming in my window wells. It was a Quick Kill just like the company name. And even though this is something my landlord should handle, I gladly paid for it. This is definitely the company you should call. Long time Yelp user, first time poster. Never written any reviews on Yelp before because usually the postings are spot on and I dont bother. This time, not so much. Pros: Quick turn around - Next day. Phone staff - Pretty friendly. Cons: After multiple visits, couldnt seem to get rid of my problem. They did knock it down, but were unable to knock it out completely for some reason? When the guy came out the first time, he seemed like he was in a big hurry. A week later I was back in the same boat. They came out again and said they were going to try some other stuff. A week later, same thing. My wife is a bit neurotic about invaders and I understand that we will never be totally free of pests, but with the glowing reviews they have here, I expected more from them and so did she. They were not able to solve our problem, we had to call in someone else. Yesterday's service call to address our ant problem was an effective, informative, and frankly pleasurable experience. Our technician Andrew took his time to treat the entire house, either by spraying an innocuous pesticide, injecting gel bait into crevices in the most active area in the kitchen, and by judiciously placing bait traps in other areas. He also treated the entire perimeter of the house, and in the process I found an area where ice had been hanging out! Got that problem addressed too! Tim and David came to save the day today! They removed a hornet nest from the second story apex of my house. They removed the nest and sprayed to make sure none will come back to bother us, and even if they did they offer a 30 day guarantee. They also treated my interior and exterior for the normal seasonal insects. With all that said, what sets them apart from anyone else is the "family owned" feel. They are a family owned business and it shows, starting with the first call you make when you schedule an appointment all the way through to when they leave at the end of the service. We were just visited by Scott from Quick Kill to address remaining problem of rats in back yard. He replaced baits in 4 traps, but more importantly, located several main burrows to collapse and place more baits. He also took the time to explain the complexity of trapping a very intelligent and prolific rodent. We will wait and see if this more extensive approach diminishes the rat population, but we have been quite satisfied with the service AND the knowledge of the technicians. I called at 1:20 p.m., and they had a tech at our house before 2:00 p.m. While I know that was a fortunate scenario, the manager took the time to explain to me what they could do and then found a way to make it happen on the same day. On a Friday, we found a hole in our fascia and saw a squirrel sitting nearby. By Monday morning, QK technician JP confirmed that it looked like a squirrel hole and placed two live traps on the roof nearby.
