We came back here again for the third or fourth time. We've always had the Detroit style pizza which is very, very good. Our friends ordered the Guy Fieri and said it was excellent. Tonight hubby and I tried the tavern style pizza for the first time and it was very disappointing. It was overdone to the point of burnt (very black). And it was fairly flavorless (I think it needs some sauce, or at least a little more sauce). The service was great, as usual. And the drinks were cold and tasty. I would recommend the Detroit style pizza all day long, but stay away from the tavern pizza in my opinion. read more

Stopped in here after a bike ride from the Cities. The place was nice, not too packed. All in all the overall ambiance was great. We ordered a couple of drinks and a pizza. We got the drinks right away and hung out. It took forever for the pizza to come, which was a little crazy given how empty the place was. We waited an hour for the pizza, we never got checked in on again to see if we wanted more drinks or anything. The pizza was good, but not really worth the extended wait. We were a little turned off by the fact that we didn't get any service minus the initial ordering either. Maybe this was just a one-off, other reviews of the place seem great, but I don't know that I'll be back. What a great location - directly on the main street with street and lot parking. The restaurant is in one of the old historic buildings which has great nostalgic feel. The wait staff is excellent and helpful to a degree... They would have gotten five stars except for two things: the drinks that two of my party had were not good, it was mentioned to the waiter and she took no real action to fix or replace them. The other concern was one of the pizza's was supposed to include veggies AND pepparoni and sausage which it didn't include either - kind of odd. Now... on to an amazing appitizer of brussel sprouts - delicious. And what about the pizza's, amazing. We had one Chicago 1/2 8x11 and two thin crusted. They were all extremely good. Pizza lived up to the hype. Drove an hour on a Friday evening...there were 3 of us so obviously ordered too much but we has to try a few things to make the drive worth it! They had one of the best Caesar Salads we've ever had. The Adobo Wings were spot on coming from Filipinos who know their adobo. The Beef Tallow fries were worth their weight in gold. Perfectly crispy abd chewy. Had the Rick James special, Half a Guy Fiery and half a Smooch Operator all Detroit style. The Smooth Operator was earthier than expected but if you love mushrooms this is the one for you. We couldn't decide which we liked better between the other 2, both are must-tries! We stopped by Melt Pizza Company for a mid-week lunch and overall had a great experience! It was a Wednesday at noon so we were able to park right out front and get a table right away. The good: The restaurant is spacious. The beef tallow fries were crisp and delicious. The tavern style pizza was crisp and our favorite pizza we tried. The ranch is homemade and nice and herb-y. The vodka sauce is a must order! The not so good: The beer menu was underwhelming -- it seemed like there wasn't a good variety (5 IPA's) and the only cream ale on the menu was out. I was bummed so didn't order anything. The chicken wings were very heavily breaded. If you like a thin skin and crisp chicken wing, I wouldn't order these. Their red sauce is flat, it needs some sugar or more flavor -- skip the red sauce and get the vodka sauce, it has way more flavor. The restrooms are up 2 flights of stairs, not the most convenient or accessible location. Overall, we really enjoyed the tavern style pizza and fries from Melt Pizza so look forward to visiting again! read more

The decor is awesome and really makes you want to stay awhile, though it did feel a little on the messy side (the bathroom definitely needed some attention- toilet paper everywhere). The food and drinks, though? Absolutely amazing. Their thin crust pizza is actually thin (hallelujah), and everything came out hot and fresh without much of a wait, even with how busy it was. Melt pizza was warm and inviting immediately upon arrival. The delicious garlicky smell made it worth the wait for our table. They have a texting service so you can do some nearby shopping while you wait. The pizza was awesome. We had both the Detroit style and the tavern (thin) style. The building is old and quirky which is the best part about spending the evening in downtown Stillwater. Parking is difficult, and bathrooms are upstairs if you have mobility issues (but that's typical for this area). We will definitely be back! Delicious! read more

Tried Melt Pizza in Stillwater today for lunch. Spectacular! I missed out when Melt was getting hyped a year or 2 ago when they were doing a pop up at Pedro's del Este in Hudson. Glad I got to try it. The OG was my favorite of the 2, but the Longanisa was solid too and a fun unique bunch of flavors to try. Also pictured is their brussels sprouts app which was excellent as well. We had 2 toddlers with, at the time we walked in, they only had high tops. Once we sat down 2 tables opened up and we asked if we could switch as the 1 yo is not sitting stable on the booster seat (no strap attached to the high top chairs). I've been here a few times and the quality and service is excellent. Do yourself a favor and get a side of hot honey and spicy ranch with your cheese sticks. We stopped in for lunch and ordered the monthly special, "Rick James," and I genuinely can't stop thinking about it. The sesame seed Detroit-style crust was unlike anything I've ever had before. Then we had the She's My Cherry Pie which was unlike any pizza I've had and super tasty! On top of that we had the Filipino Abode wings which alone are worth a spot. I am a huge fan of Melt. They specialize in Detroit style pizza which I know some people might not be a big fan of, but this is truly really good. This pizza gets high reviews so I had to see what the fuss is about. And being gfree, they had gfree pizza so I had to try it! First time I sat at the bar (in June) and arrived just when the place opened. We ordered a fancy pizza (square Detroit style) and wings. Both were delish. Second time I went for dinner. We opted for the plain pizza with drinks. The pizza was crunchy on the outside and doughy on the inside. My only wish for melt was that they had other pizza options or a build your own pie option. We were at Ziggy's (down the road) listening to live music and there cook did not show up I think is what we were told so we asked if we could bring in a pizza, the bartender recommended this place so we ordered. We got a small sausage and mushroom $22.00 my friend walked down to get it (below 0 weather and it was 1 1/2 block walk) opened up the box and we both said YUK! We were eating at the bar and even the bartender said "that is not what their pizza's look like) It tasted extremely burned and the saltiest pizza I have ever eaten, I ate 1/2 piece, I said we should have walked right back there and returned it but it was so cold out. This is my second visit to Melt Pizza and this time was just as good as the first time... love the consistency. A group of four of us visited around 2:00pm, had to wait about an hour before being seated. When we were seated, our waiter greeted and introduced himself. He was friendly and very attentive. He always made sure our waters were filled and asked if we wanted another bevy. We shared the Melt Sticks and Drunken Love pizza.... Both were delicious. Melt Pizza has the BEST spicy ranch! My friend got the Birria Ramen which looked delicious. The restaurant isn't super big, but they have a nice bar with lots of drinks to offer. I've been hearing about this Detroit style pizza pop-up for a while and finally tried it. *Mondays and Tuesdays located inside of Pedro del Este in Hudson. Some weekends they're at Barrel Theory in Lowertown St Paul* *If ordering ahead for carry out, use the Tock app* There is a parking lot in the back if you turn into the driveway just past Pedro's. I had no trouble finding a spot on an early Monday evening. I ordered a pick up for 5pm and the website says to allow a few extra minutes to get the pizza boxed up. There was a glitch in their computer system so I ended up waiting about 20 minutes but they threw in a gigantic and amazing chocolate chip cookie for the inconvenience. I get it--things happen! Great customer care. The pizza itself is simply delicious. Generously topped with fresh ingredients. This is a dryer pizza, next time I might ask for extra sauce because that's my usual order for all pizza but as it comes you're more likely to taste the delicious crust and cheese. Very filling and huge portions. If you're a fan of thicker crust, definitely check this place out. I saw a bowl of vodka sauce rigatoni being served to another table, it looked excellent. read more

I love how it's a block away on the North side across from the gas station. I stopped in about 1 since it was so humid. It's Detroit style pizza. Plenty of sauce. I saw lot of huge cans of ground tomatoes. Great atmosphere and the most beautiful chandeliers to offset the mood. Super great service from Edie. A delicious pepperoni pizza that was lunch and dinner. It's filling. I killed some time by climbing a flight of stairs to the bathroom.
