Looked online for a test-only smog station, and this one was nearby. They have coupons for $10 off at www.smogtips.com, so my total was $60 all told, including DMV transmission, which other places tend to tack on as an extra charge. The desk staff were helpful, and correctly estimated the wait time in line and how long the smog check itself would take. Only downside is that parking is miserable on this street (on a monday afternoon no less), and nearby streets are resident only parking. Plan on parking a block or two away and hustling the car back when your name is called.. read more

Very fast and friendly, even on a prime time Saturday mid morning. The whole transaction, including the Pretest we requested and the actual smog test afterwards, took less than half an hour, not long enough to finish the breakfast we started at Las Casuelas nearby. Gave us the $60 coupon rate even without asking for it, even without a coupon (guess they have been listening to Yelp price complaints?) I wish every transaction (or even most transactions) were this efficient and enjoyable. By the way, this was for a 1991 Porsche, which can be a little tricky. My Porsche mechanic (Carrera Motors) recommends these guys. read more

Really quick and super friendly. I went at around 10am on a weekday, and was in and out in about 25 minutes. Only downside is that the street gets really congested and it wasn't that easy to figure out where to park, so I just parked around the corner and walked up to ask. The sign on their door as well as their phone recording said they open on Sunday, 10am. When the doors didn't open I waited patiently til 1020am then left. Perhaps they didn't expect much business since it was the holiday season, but nevertheless i still needed a smog check and no one opened the door that day at the said time. There are a million smog places around and I have had a one bad experience in Belmont that mainly had to do with customer service more than anything that would make me never go back. The rest were adequate, as advertised. Today I tried Quick Smog, mainly because of the location I was currently at, and that it was close to AAA for my DMV stickers. What a pleasant surprise! VERY knowledgeable, friendly husband/ wife team (love Syri)....no appt., the average $65 (don't let the "coupons fool you, read the small print) BUT that included a re-test for FREE if necessary (not $40 like I was given before) and it was QUICK. Their expertise was impressive (they check everything thoroughly!) and even checked my battery level for me after I mentioned that once before I was told was in the replacement range. They did not solicit, I was a display there. They had top batteries, and were even a bit cheaper than AAA was for my other car so I said "put it in"! He has a friend connection to a tire place around the corner so that is my errand tomorrow. PS I still need to write my BAD review for Ma's Auto body which is literally next door to them now (3rd location). They do smog too, so don't pull into the wrong driveway ;)).....not long ago when Ma's was in Burlingame, I had a check engine light on which I found out automatically fails your smog. After letting them know I would not be ripped off by their part cost for a sensor (I researched the price), the part was suddenly $60 less than quoted. My smog recheck that this part fixed was quoted as $40 at the place I had just tested at. To make it worth staying there to do it, I was told he could do it for $50 after I mentioned the other places $40. I thought for $10 why drive back to Belmont? When I went to pay- same day, never leaving- it was written as $65! So I mentioned that quote of $50 and was then told, by the same person, that they have never discounted a smog to $50!! So I paid full price for both!! I would find someone that will be straight with you...... Back to Quick Smog, I will definitely take my other car there next year! read more

I was on crutches, they brought everything to me as I sat, had a clean waiting room with about 30 magazines.
