We have been coming here for years. If you are in Oceanside, you must must stop by for lunch or dinner. Just went yesterday for lunch and 4 of us ate for $25, and it was absolutely amazing. Great for delivery! We ordered three entrees and they arrived around 40 minutes later. My family shared the Honey Walnut shrimp and they loved it. The chicken and green beans were good, but not as good as the shrimp. I had the garlic tofu and it was fantastic. The delivery boy was very friendly, as was the lady I ordered the food with. The only downside was that they forgot to bring a side order of rice that came with the meal. Nevertheless, I'll probably be ordering again soon. read more

Consistently good. We cook a lot of Asian food at home and these guys do it right. Fresh ingredients, cooked in front of you. Served steaming hot. Prices very fair and portions are large. We figured we get about three times the amount of food we get at a chain like Panda Express or Pick Up Stix for about a dollar more each. Quite a bargain. read more

After yesterday's acid indigestion inducing pizza, possibly the worst pizza in a long time, at Fratelli's, and hungry again at 3 PM or so, we headed to Quik Wok at 2184 Vista Way, Oceanside CA 92054, for a quick and hopefully better food. Place looked somewhat empty, with only one table occupied. Cook/Chef? looked Chinese, a very tall one at that. Person taking our order looked like the owner, and we ordered: Large Wonton Soup, $8.29. Broth see through clear, with more flavor than expected, with a fair share of cabbage, and veggies. 4 small/medium shrimp (one for each in the group). Chicken more abundant, nicely presented. Overall very pleased with it. 4 Stars. Egg Rolls Chicken, $5.49 for 4. Average, hot and lightly crispy. This is one of those creations specifically meant to make them money, for it barely has any filling and the outer layer almost like filo thin. Asked for it twice. 3.5 Stars. Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings, (6), $6.99. After eating the first, asked for it again. Decently fried, 3 of the six significantly bigger, 3 tiny wings. On both orders. Probably overkill to order it twice, but tasty, never the less. 4 Stars. Pot Stickers, (8), $5.49. Made with chicken, no different than any other potsticker. Definitely overkill, as everyone was more than full at this stage. 3.5 Stars. Water with lemon peels very good, and free. 4 Stars. Service prompt. Total very close to $50. I stopped in to Quik Wok on a whim, and was pleasantly surprised. I really wasn't in the mood for Chinese food, but the Mexican restaurant in the same center didn't accept ATM cards. Additionally, from the outside the place didn't look very appealing. However, my first impressions were easily dismissed as the food and service turned out to be wonderful. I ordered the garlic chicken and it was superb....better than most dine-in, higher priced restaurants I've eaten at. Everything was fresh, very good quality, and quite tasty. You know how sometimes when you order chicken at some of the lower end restaurants the meat is not the best quality? Well this was definitely NOT the case here (thankfully). The chicken was very good quality. And the vegetables that were in the meal were fresh as well. I also found the food wasn't prepared with excessive amounts of oil, and felt like not only did the food taste great, but it was prepared in such a way that was good for you. The portions were generous and there were leftovers enough for a full second meal. Additionally, the service was incredibly fast and the folks there were truly friendly and attentive. Ordered cream cheese wontons, pot stickers, house chicken, and hot & sour soup last night. Everything was outstanding but the hot & sour soup was the bomb! For me it was the perfect mix flavors and texture and just spicy enough. I will definitely be coming back soon to try more things but I'm getting hss every time! read more

Me and my daughters got sick eating there recently, we all had the family size chicken/corn soup. We all ate it except my hubby. Me and my daughters got so sick for days even my 2 year old. Health inspectors need to go do an inspection. We have seen meat in buckets on the floor while walking to the restroom in the back. I know your NOT supposed to do that in the food industry, especially uncovered. I don't think they clean the high chairs, it was so sticky, the soda machines are obviously dirty. I will never take my family to eat there again. read more

Called in and ordered some food to go. Girl on the phone was nice and knowledgeable. Food was just ok. Chicken Wings were good. The beef in the dishes was scary looking though. It was beige and almost looks like chunks of fat. I didn't eat any of it. Very salty. I didn't eat the chicken either because it looked like dried chunks of beige meat. Wonton soup wasn't very good either. Broth was bland and the wontons were super doughy and thick. Very Average. read more

It was lunch time, ordered tofu vegetable lunch with chow mein instead of white rice. Staff was friendly but the food was awful. I probably got about 5 pieces of tofu and about six mushrooms. The total cost was a little over $7. I never received my 'soup or salad' and never received the 'potsticker' side that was supposed to come with my meal, and neither did my friend who had also ordered a lunch special. Not only were the servings meager, the food pretty much consisted of three main ingredients: MSG, corn syrup, and corn starch. For someone on a low income, I felt totally taken advantage of by this place. They should have a warning sign on their restaurant for people with insulin resistance. I've never had Chinese food be this poor quality before. Its almost as if all they did was pour a bunch of maple syrup and soy sauce on some raw tofu. Gross. read more

Cashier lady was a snob, I had to check myself before I said anything I regretted. Lucky I was tiered I didn't have enough in me to bitch her out. So that's service for you at this place. That being said food was pretty good, not your full on authentic Chinese food but pretty close. Price was reasonable and free refills on your drinks was a plus. Complimentary water was not filtered here like some other places are but I didn't expect it to be. My wife and I have been regular customers here for many years. We usually come here at least 1 time per week. The food is good for the price and it's close to the house so its convenient too. My wife and I went there yesterday for lunch, we got there a few minutes before 3pm (the lunch special goes till 3pm). We ordered and sat down at the table. About 5 minutes later a man came in with his two teenaged kids. The man was on crutches and disables obviously. But he came in to the restaurant. He said hi to the owner and said they were here to get a few lunch special. They looked over the menu and ordered 2 meals. At that point the owner said "lunch special is done it ended 5 minutes ago". What??!! The owner didn't want his business? This man on crutches that came in to a small business (this isn't a Panda or something, its more of a mom and pop shop type of place) and wanted to give him money for food, but it took him some extra time to get out of the car and in to the restaurant due to his disability but the owner said NO???? Due to this I will NEVER go to this place again. They owner should be ashamed of himself. 5 Minutes for a handicapped man on crutches isn't worth a lunch for him. Does he think he's that good or that important? HE'S NOT! I hope others that see this also don't go there as it just wasn't the right thing to do. Bad business, bad morals and just did NOT do the right thing. No more Quik Wok for me. I'll find a place that actually treats people like people, especially someone that is disabled! read more

After receiving good reviews from friends, we gave Quik Wok a try. We ordered to go orange chicken, house fried rice, crispy fried noodles with chicken and shrimp, and the house wonton soup. The portions were very generous. That said, the soup broth was bland, similar to canned chicken broth and the wonton was pasty. The fried rice was adequate, but the flavors not particularly pronounced. The orange chicken was over-cooked and dry, although the flavor was adequate but not memorable. The crispy noodle dish had a tasty if watery broth and was worth ordering again. Good Chinese food is prepared with the flavors of each ingredient distinct and blended to a flavorful combination of taste and texture. For Quik Wok, however, the food did not rise to what we would expect from a "good" Chinese restaurant, just okay. read more

Our family loves Quik Wok! It is the perfect place for Chinese carryout. The restaurant is small and narrow. The grill/prep area runs along the length of the restaurant and there are only about 6 or so tables with 4 seats each. Usually, these tables are taken by people waiting for their takeout! We have eaten 'in' before, but there is no ambience. It would be fine for a quick lunch, but not for 'dining out'. The prices are very reasonable; lunch is served from 11:30 (ish) to 3pm and is about $5.75 per dish and that includes salad or daily soup, potsticker, and steamed rice. The dinner portions are generous, and run about $7.75. The menu isn't fancy, but they do the basics well. Great Kung Pao chicken/shrimp/beef which you can get flaming hot if you like (we do!). Their beef with broccoli is nice as well, the broccoli is always just right, a touch crunchy and not overcooked. There are many vegetarian dishes, and although we are meat-eaters, we still enjoy the Garlic Tofu and the Orange Tofu as well as the Kung Pao Vegetables. The food isn't fancy, just good plain Chinese food. Service is FAST. Usually 10 or 15 minutes if you are ordering off-peak. (It gets busy at lunch and around 5pm when people are getting off work.) Our favorite tip: order your takeout and then walk to the next-door Von's supermarket to pick up cold beer to accompany your Chinese food! By the time you choose your beer and walk back, your order will be ready. Oh, and their fortune cookies are lemony and crunchy. read more

My family and I have been going here for a few years and learned the tricks of the trade of eating here. It's decent food not the best. I am afraid there is MSG in the food and it's obviously not organic (gross). This is the last time we will eat here. We always tried go on Sundays because the old man that owns the place is rude and likes to charge extra for everything; Sundays he doesn't work. Any who. So today we went there to have dinner. We order soup and noodles. Our soup came out first and we started serving it. Our soup spilt and the old man saw it when he was bringing us out noodles. He put our noodle dish on another table. He got upset and sighed out loud and to top it off the old grumpy man, in front of my young daughter, said "SHT." My daughters jaw dropped. He cleaned up the spilt soup. We had to get our noodles off the other table next to us. Lame! I thought it was rude that he got angry with us. He knows who we are and we are good customers. He treated us poorly. Went there yesterday for the first time after a friend recommended it and I was in the area. I got there just before 3:00 when the lunch specials end. I ordered Kung Pao chicken extra spicy. The owner (?) told me he would give me 6 dumplings rather than the one that comes with the special. That was very nice of him, I was very disappointed in my dish. First I was surprised it was ready in less then 2 minutes so I'm guessing chicken was pre cooked and just heated up? The pieces of chicken were very small and had some coating on on them.and sauce was very sweet. Weird. The only veggies were water chestnuts and a few little pieces of green onion. There was a cup of chili sauce included but when I request extra spicy I mean cooked into the dish, not added after. Probably worse Kung Pao Chicken I ever had, May try something else when I'm in the area again. The post stickers were pretty good. And the place is clean. read more

do not eat at oceanside location vista way !!!! it is disgusting the back of the house is always dirty, they leave meat laying around to defrost by the back door while the back door is open so who knows how many flys or other bugs have landed on the meat, i noticed that they wash the utensils with hand soap and just dry them off with a towel doesn't seem to sanitized. the soup taste like water with a little bit of seasoning and i found a bug in my wanton soup on top of that. the taller cook is very stingy with portions i also noticed that man who takes orders making fun of customer with other employees its was such a disappointment will never be eating there ... i really thing the food safety people should go check this place out. read more

Just ate at this location for lunch. one of the worst meals I've ever had in my life. I threw 90% of it away. Even the soda sucked. Not kidding! I've been to the location off the 76 several Xs and it's been decent. Not here. Worst ever! Got the chicken and green beans, never again! Not only was it cold, the green beans were wrinkled like they had been sitting in a warm frige for a few days and then got warmed up in the microwave and then dumped into a paper box. No amount of soy sauce could have made this food tolerable. My fortune cookie didn't even have a fortune in it. Just don't eat here. read more

I came here with my family for a quick bite between some appointments. We just wanted something quick and small, however, the portions are not small at all. In fact, they are huge and we had left overs for 2 days! But that is a good thing. For the price of the food, the portions are huge. I had the house chow-mein which was really good. It had a good balance of noddles and meat, and not to salty. We also had the fried rice which was a large mound on the plate. It had a good, homemade flavor. I didn't try the eggsrolls we got but I heard they were really good. One of the gentleman working also gave us free steamed white rice with our meal. All in all, I really enjoyed this place and would like to come back. I personally don't prefer Panda Express or places like that but this is different. The food is good, the place is clean, people are friendly, and if you eat in, you get served on actual plates! I recommend going here. read more
