Nice stop along the highway, cool laid-back type of spot you really only find in rural areas. Loved the vibe of this place. Drink case in the center you can walk up and grab beers or soda from, stuff on tap on the bar side too Service was good - friendly front of house lady, hustling and taking care of the whole restaurant solo, and doing a damn good job of it too. The problem unfortunately was that my food wasn't good. My cheeseburger tasted entirely unseasoned, like it would if you made burger patties with solely ground beef and a little bit of binder, but added nothing else. Very meatloafy. The fries were pretty good, but getting a burger that isn't kinda kills the meal. read more

Interesting visit today. I am a fan of this place and have been supporting it since it opened. They have a shrimp and bacon salad that is as good as you will find. I have ordered it many times. The problem. Today the salad comes on a bed of what I would call dandelion leaves. They were bitter and while I have see these mixed before, this was a plate full of them. Yuk! The wait person asked and I told her I would never order this again. She claimed it was as always. Nope. I would never order it again this way. To her credit, she offered to "fix" it. My brother and I each got the farmers hash for breakfast. It was tremendous! It's made with local produce, and it totally pays off! $22 for fresh, local food is a great value. The place is cute and calm, and the service was excellent. We stopped in around 9:40 AM and we didn't have to wait very long for our food. read more

Nothing like being on the peninsula and camping/cabining/traveling then treating yourself to a hearty breakfast at Quilbilly in Quilcene. Would recommend the farmer's hash which brings seasonal local veggies to you. I had this once in the late Fall and now in early Summer and the veggies were completely different. They do go heavy on the oil and butter which keeps you warm at night. read more

What an interesting spot!! My boyfriend and I were desperately looking for food in the area and couldn't find ~anything~ so decided to just stick our finger on something and go. We were a tad scared since the town seemed pretty quiet, but on opening the doors we were met with the most comforting environment! The ladies were so sweet to us! We were the only two people there; they even explained the menu to us. We had the best ginger beer, locally made, that I'm still craving to this day. And the sandwiches?? WHEW. You know if you're from the area. It a quaint, cafe with a small town vibe. You can tell this is a locals favorite. The service is very friendly. Roadside restaurant on the eastern slope of the Olympics. Known for burgers and fried oysters (no oysters unfortunately at our visit). Burger had very substantial patty cooked perfectly. Homemade cheesy jalapeño tots cost extra but well worth the trip here. Beer and ciders on tap with some special choices. Friendly service and food came quickly for hungry hikers. Outdoor dining to view mountains and watch traffic. Outdoor carved bears in Hawaiian garb set the mood. Plan to return. read more

My server was a sweet and inviting woman, Tiffany. The burger was cooked perfectly. I weirdly love pickles, and their pickles were amazing. The French fries might be the best I've ever had: baked, not fried, and the way that they do them make them even more delicious. They are also adding cc charges starting April 1, 2023 because they're getting handed their asses in credit card fees. I appreciate them making signs, and holding the customers responsible for those fees. Ultimately, small businesses shouldn't have to pay the same fees at big corporations, but credit card companies aren't yet making those adjustments...to the best of my knowledge. So, this restaurant asking customers to take accountability for the convenience of credit cards (in my head) means the sustainability of this wonderful place. I hope more small businesses do this, so they can too, survive and thrive. read more

TBH, I didn't actually eat there. That was because I went out of my way to drive out there for a meal, and when I got there, I walked in and was told they were closed. "we turned off our sign." Mind you, this was during normal business hours. They said they were closed for some sort of anniversary special meal. Not terribly friendly or apologetic about it, either--they seemed pretty motivated for me to just go away. There's other places that are easier to get to. Maybe I'll come back some time and actually try the food. read more

This is such a cute small town restaurant. I came for breakfast and got the Farmers Hash which was full of local seasonal veggies from farms around Quilcene. It was delicious! We were heading back to Portland after being on the road and were looking for breakfast with an outside patio. I expected to have to get off the highway to find a place but there Quilbilly's was. Super clean inside and outside so very comfortable patio. It was a nice warm, no wind morning too. The server came out right away and got water for the dog too. The menu is old school yummy. I love breakfasts that have chicken fried steak, biscuits and homemade gravy... I could not make up my mind between the 2 of them. Oh also they have different Benedicts which I had to add to my choices. When I have choices like that I just ask the server to narrow it down which helps me decide. It's my strategy. ;). Anyway they had both biscuits AND chicken fried steak together on the menu. Easy choice right there. She then asked if I would like to have a half order. Right up my alley!! Well if you look at the pic of this mighty half order you can well imagine what it could have been like. I'm betting they have to have big special plates and a server that does weights. Anyway, I took my first bite of the chicken fried steak and that sealed the deal about this place. They cook it perfectly. Lots of times it's just all dried out but not this chicken fried steak. Let's not forget to mention the most amazing homemade biscuit gravy... wow wow wow.. I could barely take a bite of the biscuits next to the chicken fried steak though. Basically I ONLY ate the chicken fried steak. I am now trying to find a way to get back to this town so I can do that again! As far as the name of the place, lighten up with your feelings there. It's pretty funny and it seems that Quilcene is updating and has a new look about it. This restaurant only helps. Not a dying town for sure like so many little towns these days that get eaten up by big boxes. Please keep it Quilcene quaint. read more

My husband and I were headed home after a business trip and stopped by on a client's recommendations. They were very short staffed so we waited for about an hour for our food but it was worth it. The service was good, but you could tell they were busy and short staffed. The ambiance was nice for their small town feel. However, owning our own business, I am not a fan that you are charged an additional fee for credit card use. It's the cost of doing business. It should be built into the cost of the meals, which at their prices it seemed well enough to cover such fees. Our food was very good and was worth the wait. We had the Timberland sandwich with the jalapeño tater tots and the Patty Melt. Their cook definitely deserves kudos as they made the visit worth while. read more

We stopped in on our way out of town today. I got the regular 2 egg breakfast platter with toast and sausage patties. Possibly the best diner breakfast I've ever had. Everything was on point. Eggs perfectly to order and incredibly fresh, crispy hash browns. Their cook this morning was excellent. Unusually so.
