What a great experience working with Lito and crew. We found this place while searching for another and decided to stop by. Lito invited us to look at the remnant pieces because we only needed to do our island. He quoted us a price to fabricate and install. Seemed fair. I'm very disappointed with Quintal's! Six weeks ago I came to shop to look at remnants to use for fireplace hearth. Shannon asked in email to identify pieces I was interested in. I sent photos and waited. And waited. I reached out and waited. I went down again and marked the pieces I was interested in. I left email and voicemail. I did receive a call back from Leandro saying that they would get me a quote. And I waited. Shannon emailed me and said she would get me a quote by the end of day. Next day I received an email from her saying that the piece I was interested in had been broken. I'm thinking they are not very careful or my job was just too small. Quintal's Granite & Marble's name came up in a conversation with long time friends when talking about tearing out the tile and putting in Quartz. We went to the shop and picked out our Quartz and scheduled the job. The job wasn't without it's hiccups. Yes, as I read in other reviews, scheduling mishaps happened but the workmanship is wonderful. All their workers are incredibly skilled in their trade. Even thru all the ups and downs, on the job, the workers always had a positive friendly attitude and worked diligently to do the job right. All in all, once the job was complete, my wife and I could not be more pleased. These guys are real craftsmen. The job is beautiful. Quintal's Granite and Marble may not be for everyone but if you have a little patients, work with Lito and Leandro, they will make it right and you won't be disappointed in the outcome of the job. Quintal's Granite & Marble has completed (3) jobs for me so far; they are true craftsmen in the stone working trades. Everything they've done for me so far has turned out fantastic. Their attention to detail is outstanding, and the fit-and-finish superb. No complaints, only Kudos. The jobs they've done for me so far are: (1.) Fabrication and installation 3-piece shower surrounds for a 5-foot shower, using Piedrafina recycled marble material. Each piece was very large and hard to work with in such a small bathroom, but they made it look easy. There were (2) side slabs 36" x 89", and (1) back wall slab 60" x 89". Fabrication top-notch, installed perfectly, very well done. (2.) Fabrication and installation of a 37" x 22" bathroom vanity counter top, with under-mount porcelain sink, single hole cut for faucet, and both back and side splashes, using Piedrafina recycled marble material. Even the beveled/tapered edge around the oval hole for the sink was executed and fabricated flawlessly. Installation and fit-and-finish are absolutely top-notch. (3.) Fabrication and installation of a 49" x 22" counter top, with full 18.5" back and side splashes, using Piedrafina recycled marble material. This area was a small section of floor and wall cabinets on the upstairs landing. In this area, I removed the old wood counter top our house came with, and Quintal's installed the new counter top and splashes. Once again, top-notch installation, no flaws, nothing to nit-pick, done perfectly --- Outstanding! As you can see by my (3) successful jobs, I won't hesitate to call Quintal's next time I need any stone fabrication work done, like with our next project --- Kitchen remodeling. We needed a hole drilled for my water filtration and got Leandro's phone from Yelp. We agreed on the price and set up an appointment with him. He never showed up nor did he call to let us know why he didn't come. I left a few messages and still haven't gotten a call from him. In this economy, customer service is the key to success. Leandro recently did a gorgeous bathroom remodel for us, just prior to Christmas. We chose a Quartz material from one of his many samples, because it is non-porous and does not require any upkeep. We used this material for the shower pan as well as the floor to ceiling walls, and vanity top. From start to finish this company is very professional to work with, and work is done on time. Leandro has done other work for us so we did not hesitate to call him for this particular job. He was also able to recommend someone to do the hot mop for the shower pan, and recommended Blossom Hill Shower and Glass for the 80 inch high frameless shower door, and mirror for the vanity. We are just thrilled with the results of this remodel and it looks like something out of a magazine!! read more

I have mixed feelings, so will separate this into two parts: A) Workmanship (should be 5 Stars) -- Top Notch. The demo, templating, granite fabrication, and install were masterful. These guys are artists and clearly enjoy their work. I have no doubt I'll be happy with my countertops for years to come. They are beautiful and rugged, and the guys did a superb job duplicating the leather finish onto the bullnose edges. I know this can't be a simple feat. B) Communications/Scheduling/Planning (1 Star) -- Had trouble from the start. --I asked for a demo and install quote, and was referred to a document that instructed me to install plywood myself or they wouldn't do the templating. Then I clarified again that I wanted them to demo, and was told to ignore the instructions. Ok, no problem. --A templating appointment was made for 9-12 on a given day. I had to double check again on the plywood thing - because they said it has to be installed first - before templating. "Oh! I guess we'll be demoing too...". Ok, I guess my tile is getting ripped out that day. good to know. --I'm not living in the house yet, so I ride there through traffic and take time off work to be present all morning. When I arrive I get a call moving the appointment to the afternoon. Stuff happens, I get it...so now I'm taking the whole day off. --So far nobody has mentioned how long it will take from Demo to install, but I figure several days are expected. I check in after they demo and template, and I'm told it's 8-10 working days from templating. That's ~2weeks with no running water or sink in the kitchen. I know...First-world problems. I'll make coffee in the bathroom. --I wait. Patiently. --After 11 business days I call to see what's up. Oh, let us check. Yes - let's install on Tues. at 9am. (which is 15 working days after templating). I mention that there is a 3rd window-sill that I'm interested in having covered with any remaining granite, assuming there's enough. The other two were part of the original template and work order. They'll measure when they come on Tues. Perfect. --I take the morning off. I ride through traffic. I get there a half-hour early. And guess what -- Yep! Apparently appointments are mere suggestions, so let's reschedule again to 11am to 12. Finally the crew shows up at 1pm for their 9am appointment. Guess I'm taking another full day off. The First time I was aggravated. Second time, I'm deducting a star. How hard is it to keep your appointments?? --The crew works their butts off - they are hard workers, and know their stuff. But, they didn't bring the first 2 window-sills. I inquire, and they say it's because they wanted to measure the 3rd one before cutting. This is a little hard to reconcile, because they should have ALREADY cut the first 2 before the install day. I think they just forgot to cut them, and this was a convenient excuse. Anyway, they measure and discuss the 3rd windowsill and finish installing the counters. Minus half a star for perceived dishonesty. --I ask about the sink and water connections (which they tore out on Demo/template day), and they say 'the plumber will do that'. Ok great- when does the plumber get here? 'Not our job sir, we don't do that; you have to hire a plumber'. I guess it was naive to think they would put it back in working order, but it's another example of lack of communication and not setting expectations. Oh, and somewhere along the line my garbage disposal walked away and never came back. So I have a countertop with a sink, and some disconnected pipes. Minus half a star for the surprise and the missing hardware. --I wait again for the window-sills. --2 Days later I get a call at 8:40AM saying the crew is on their way to install the window-sills. I'm not at the house, and can't take another day off work with only 20 minutes notice, so I give them codes to access the house without me there. I don't like this, but I'm ready to be done with Quintals. I'm writing this review the same morning, not knowing if the installers are actually there or not, or if they'll even show up today. It's all part of the deal when you work with this company. This silliness cost another star. In closing: I should mention that Shannon is very sweet on the phone, but I think she has the unenviable job of representing a company that's poorly managed. If you have an infinitely flexible schedule, don't mind poor/minimal communications, and want some beautifully installed granite, Quintal's is the place for you. I won't be using them again because I value my time, and they don't. read more

What no zero star option. That's what I would have given these guys. They did my work a year back. Coordinating was night mare. They had my left over slab which was extremely expensive and something I use for my custom bar which they have still not returned. see email below. Simply the best granite man in the Bay Area! Six years ago Lito fabricated and installed the most stunning granite in our kitchen. When it was time to remodel our half-bath, I knew Lito was the granite man for the job. We went to Quintal's to pick out a remnant of granite because we only needed a 36"x22" piece for the vanity. With interior samples of our travertine flooring material, picture of the vanity, and fabric samples, Lito saw a sample he thought was perfect in less than one minute. He patiently let me wander around his granite selection looking at all the different choices. Of course, we went right back to the original piece he suggested as it was the best match. Lito is a true artisan craftsman and works with precision and accuracy. He is very responsive via text, email and phone making it easy to plan a project. Once again, it was a pleasure to work with Lito and I would highly recommend him for any project in the future. read more

Leandro's crew does great work. They did some difficult granite work (putting a nice edge on some very hard, relatively brittle, dark granite) for me, and they made sure it came out flawlessly. The also did a ton of tile work and did a fantastic job with both machine-made tiles with a very tight grout line, as well as handmade tiles that we decided to install with a wider grout line. In both cases the results were very good. When we discovered flaws in a couple of tiles, they came out quickly to replace the tiles. Leandro runs a responsive, friendly operation. read more

Quintals was recommended to me by Dal Tile, where I purchased my granite slabs. Leandro is a busy man but we did connect and I was able to reserve my preferred date for measuring and templating my kitchen. Since it takes 7-10 days after templating to fabricate and install the countertops, I wanted to minimize the amount of time we were without a functioning sink and cooktop. Quintals accommodated my schedule, thankfully. The other nice thing was Quintals stored my slabs for a couple of months while we got ready for the renovation project. Once the template was done, I was allowed to visit their shop on Monterey Rd. and provide input on where they were going to make the cuts on my slabs. 8 days later, my countertops were installed and they look beautiful. What I didn't realize, is the backsplash then needed to be templated and it was another day before my backsplash could be installed, so it was a two-day job. I understood after seeing how they did it just why it had to be done in two days, as I had 6 holes for electrical outlets and a cut around my microwave hood that needed precise templating. Day 2 backsplash install took less than 1/2 hour. Once they left I installed the cover plates on my outlets and discovered a minor issue with the granite blocking one of the screw holes. I texted Jose from Quintals and he came out a few days later in between jobs and carefully ground out the granite so the screw was no longer blocked. It was great dealing with everyone at Quintals, including Shannon in the office. Highly recommended. read more

I was so disappointed with the workmanship from Quintals. I love the Marble and it s now chipped on the edges and the seams are uneven. The Joints are not tight and gathering some dirt that shows on the white quartzite. The counter in one portion was protruding showing the back of the bullnose and we had to have them cut me back to trim the back. They tried to fill the gap with caulk. We had a nice slab left over and they broke it in two to discard. We though we might use it later. DO NOT HAVE QUINTALS INSTALL YOUR STONE if you want fine work. read more

I had a marble countertop installed in a buffet area of the dinning room. Quintal's picked up the marble from the marble supplier, came in for template, came in with two guys for installation, and sent one guy again for adjustment. They have reasonable price, easy to talk to, good workmanship, great self-respect and take pride in what they do. I worked with the owner Leandro on job requirement, scheduling, follow-up appointment. One of the installer Tony has attention to details, respectful, punctual, neat and likes to explain how a job is done. After the slab was installed, one drawer touches the edge while opening. I later was told this could have been avoided by installing all the drawers and cabinets prior to the template being made so that they know how thick of a plywood should be. Nevertheless, after a couple of phone calls, Leandro sent Tony to adjust, by driving in several screws from the bottom to lift the marble up (by 1/16" I think) and give space to the drawer. The solution though not ideal, worked and created no mess no tears. I would consider them again, and recommend them to a friend. read more

We had a granite countertop installed...I'm conflicted, so here are the pros and cons. Pros: - Leandro is a great guy; very friendly. He oversaw the job personally and helped his team. - The seams on our counter are non-existent. I didn't realize how amazing that is until I started noticing other friends' countertop seams, which are horrifyingly huge and obvious. Ours are invisible. Fantastic finish work. - Our countertop had to be uninstalled and reinstalled (more on this in the 'cons' section). Normally "uninstalling" a granite countertop involves a sledgehammer; the Quintal's guys were able to remove the countertop and reinstall it without damage to the granite. Amazing care and craftsmanship, again. Cons: - Leandro can be hard to get in touch with. - The fabrication work done prior to installation is decent but not great. The seams are wonderful but one of the edges has a noticeable curve to it where it should be straight. - I mentioned above in the 'pros' section: our countertop was installed incorrectly the first try. A large section would actually flex if you applied weight to it. The crew came back to uninstall the counter to fix the issue. There was a strong likelihood that the slab would break during removal, so we had to go and find another slab of granite that we liked to put on standby. As I mentioned above, they uninstalled it perfectly and were able to reinstall it correctly, so we didn't need the backup slab. In the process, our new sink was damaged, but they replaced it with a new one. So, there were hassles and delays, but in the end everything was made right. Also...seriously, the seams are *flawless*. read more

He created a beautiful window ledge and full backsplash along our countertops and behind our stove. His prices were very affordable. The service was awesome. He had a very nice crew. Leandro was referred to me by my cabinet guy, and I am glad that I listened to my cabinet guy. His workmanship is superb! He even gave me his leftover granite for the master bath vanity for free and charge me the fabrication fee only. One of his crew accidentally cut the wall, and when I reported this to him, he offered me a great discount (which was too much, so I only asked for the cost that would be required for the drywall patchwork). One thing to remember - if you want Ceasarstone, you want to make sure that the fabricator is certified. I found that some out there would tell you to do the job very cheap, but he may or may not be certified. Of course, Leandro is a certified Ceasarstone fabricator, and a very good one indeed! read more

Leandro did our entire kitchen -- three slabs of Italian granite that he handled like the pro he is. We're extremely happy with his work and with the way he works. He met us at the yard to lay out each counter individually from the templates he made on site. And then we met him in his shop to double-check the way things were lining up as he got ready to do the edges. At one point in the layout, he had a suggestion for us that probably saved us from a complete disaster, and that's because he knows a whole lot more about laying out stone than most homeowners ever will. If I could give 6 stars, I would - These guys are great to work with and are outstanding. We ordered two granite slabs from All Natural stone for a remodel of our kitchen counter top. Unbeknownst to us, the slabs were not "booked matched" and did not match in color (very slight difference). Leandro from Quintals spotted this out in 2 seconds. My wife and I never noticed but we were very grateful that they noticed before the stone was fabricated. So, we went back to All Natural stone and got our money back and went to Intertile and got two matched slabs. This time, my wife and I wanted to be there when they laid out the pattern on the slabs before cutting. The staff was very helpful and accommodating and we left confident that the counter top would be perfect. They took a day (Tuesday) to cut and polish the pieces. They arrived Wednesday right on time with a crew of three. Victor was clearly very knowledgeable and the team went to work installing the counter top. Four hours later, the job was done and we were blown away how good it looked noting little things like the way they matched the grain of the busy stone and hid the seams perfectly! (you really have to look to see the two seams). Many thanks to Quintal's entire staff: from the office manager who coordinated the meetings, to Leandro for his expert eye and suggestions and to the fabricators and install team. They installed my tile floor and the work was ok, but not great. When I expressed my concerns, they quickly came back and made some improvements. I did appreciate that. After they came back, however, the floor was better, but still just ok. They said they normally advise people not to install the kind of tiles I chose or the way I wanted them, but they never mentioned that to me. If they had, I probably would have at least gotten a second opinion. They did say they would redo the floor if I got different tile, but I'd be out more than $2000 - definitely not in my budget. And I'm not really confident it would be better. Overall, I was disappointed and plan to use someone else for additional work I need to have done. Sorry. I heard they do great work, but I it didn't really work out that way for me. read more
