We were originally heading to Alleged Lee's but they were not open yet, but Keaire (sp?) was out front and gave us the 411 and invited us to stop into Quinton's for a spell. We could not ignore her hospitality so we went in and sat at the bar (like we do). Where we were treated like royalty (well maybe not that good, but close!) We just had a couple of drinks but my birthday beer was huge! The place is fun, modern and bright. Big open garage doors let the world in and make the place feel bigger and fresh! The drinks and beer selection is fantastic; offering a wide variety of mixed drinks, the domestics beers and a host of awesome local micro brews. The walls have hand painted murals honoring sone of those breweries, Very cool touch! Quinton's was known for their sandwich and soup combo. Everyone in my group ordered it. I guess that beer cheese soup in the bread bowl is the talk of the town. I ordered the BLT with a side of fries. Mr W ordered the buffalo chicken Mac n Cheese. Spent $39.xx with gratuity and a $1.70 service charge fee. Pro Tip: the service charge fee is an unavoidable fee. And no it's not a tipping fee. Service was ok. Our server was a little quirky but it was fine. Glad that they got us in and out of there on time. Ambiance was typical bar feel. Plenty of places to sit and open space. I can see this place more enjoyable in the summer with the giant windows open and with some good friends. I enjoyed the music that was playing tonight. Quinton's quickly became my favorite bar in the east village. Alex and the rest of the staff are amazing at what they do and genuinely go out of there way to make sure your having a good night. I've only had a few chicken wings and the bread bowl soup but I can say they were both delicious and I look forward too trying more of their food. If you're looking for a good bar with a chill atmosphere and good people this is definitely the place for you. read more

We keep popping in at least once a year or so. The street parking is limited so plan yourself walk. Possibly a block walk or so to get in. The location of the restaurant is good. On a busy street and good foot traffic. Lots of drink options on tap. Since we have been here a couple times and I knew the burgers were good. We asked the recommendation of our server. He was a super energetic guy and happy to share what he thought was good. We got the Buffalo dip to start. Normally we don't need an appetizer, but it sounded really good To my husband he recommended the French Dip. However he added that he liked it a certain way. We asked him to let the chef know that we wanted it the same way he does. I also tried something different. I got the Salmon BLT. It was a big piece of Salmon blackened with bacon, lettuce and tomato. It was really good and I had trouble eating it all. The atmosphere was busy and lots of people chatting. TVs and music going. People coming and going as we sat and enjoyed our meals. We will continue to keep stopping in. When the hubby gets a hankering we cant stay away. read more

I rarely find a bad place in East Village and this was no different. We went on a Thursday which was all evening happy hour. Very good deals. We only went for a couple beers but I will say the food coming out looked delicious. I will try an app or two the next time. Bartender was efficient and kind. My family and I just paid a visit here based on my sisters recommendation. When we first arrived, I had to use the restroom. No problem. I walked in and I immediately gagged. Opened up the first stall, the toilet was unflushed. Used to that. But I open up the second, there was a used pad laying on the floor, the toilet was disgusting and I was just appalled. There was at least one good stall. My sister used the bathroom and actually complained to the waitress. She told us that the "cleaner has not arrived yet." Okay. We let that slide. Now to the food. My sister ordered chicken strips like she always does because she has a thing for them. They come and my mom immediately gets her to send them back. My sister isn't the one to complain about food at all when we go out to eat so she tries to remain silent but her face said it all. We get our meals and while my cheeseburger and fries were okay, my sister and mom ordered a steak sandwich which looked more to me like a burnt ends sandwich. My mom couldn't even finish the second half and we took it home. (It actually got fed to our dogs. ) Last but not least, the check. I noticed they added a 1 dollar service fee for a party of four. Really?! For the abysmal service and food? Oh let's not get into what the waitress was wearing. This was a girl that was plus sized and all she had on was a brown tank top and pajama shorts and she was our waitress!! Extremely unprofessional. I get it's Sunday but really?! In from out of town and I stumbled on this place on Memorial Day. Waitress was super cool and the margarita was right where it needed to be. I ordered the chilli and hate to say it but I had to return it. Idk between the saltiness and taste I couldnt do it. I think it needs some more of something. Maybe tomatoes, an onion... possible Cilantro idk but it wasnt very good. Baked potato was delicious. I got the half order and it was plenty. Very good experience. It was slow for a Saturday but our server Trisha convinced the cooks to take our last minute order. The food was so great! We even met the kitchen staff, plus I peeked in their kitchen and saw sparkling walls. I run a restaurant so I was super pleased and impressed in general by the night! read more

The remodel turned out nice. The booths on the bar side are quite tall. Careful when jumping down at the end of the night!! It was a concern for my shorter stature friend. The server was not familiar with the menu. It was happy hour and we were not informed or offered happy hour drinks. A friend in our group went to ask the bartender to get details. I had to flag down a different server to ask for our check- not great service and not busy. We ordered a burger, hot Nashville chicken sandwich, chicken strips and a grilled chicken spud. The sandwiches and chicken strips were received well and would be ordered again. The Spud was blah- would not get it again but would try once with more toppings. read more

I think this was my best trip here. Normally the service is lacking but it was pretty good. Our waitress was friendly and exceptionally patient as we had some questions. I had the club sandwich and it was exactly how I prefer them - with the meat the same temperature as the toast. My nephew wanted to trade for my sandwich because he enjoyed it when he tried. We had the cheese curds as an appetizer and they were great! My $4 margarita was awesome and strong. My nephew liked his cheeseburger even though it was a little small for his liking. I live in the East Village Neighborhood was too tired from work and decided to just door dash dinner. This weeks door dash deal was save $10 if you pick up your order and they suggested Quinton's. I placed my order and was given a pick up time 20 min later. I had issues finding a parking as there isn't a private parking lot or garage. I walked up to the building and was surprised to see it's under construction!!! There was a sign indicating one specific door to use. I walked in and had to find my way to a kitchen window where surprisingly my order sat. My husband had the Rueben and fries. He stated it was fresh and flavorful. We ordered the spinach dip and was disappointed in it as it wasn't creamy more of a paste texture. I ordered the chicken spud with out sour cream. The potato was huge!! I stopped at Quinton's for Lunch recently. It's in a big space, which I found confusing on where to sit. I eventually figured that out and found a nice seat by the window. My experience here is what I would call "Iowa Average". In other words, service was OK, food was good but not amazing, and I pretty much forgot about the place until came around to writing this review. We ate dinner at Quinton's last Saturday night. We sat ourselves and waited for 20 minutes for our waiter to arrive. He mentioned he's running slow because he hasn't felt well. We ordered and then waited 40 minutes for our food to arrive. During that time friends of our server came into the restaurant so he hovered around their table almost the entire time instead of taking care of his tables. A table across from us came in 20 minutes after us and got their food 20 minutes before us because their server was on point. I wouldn't have even written this review if the food came out correctly after all that time. I'd asked for no ketchup or tomato on my burger and instead it came with both of those on it but no avocado and my wife's fries were ice cold. The bacon & avocado burger I ordered and the salmon BLT my ate were pretty tasty but the rest of the experience was one of the poorest I've had in quite a while. read more

Service was great and quick, we were in on a Sunday afternoon and were the only people dining. I always get a combo with the bread bowl soup (I got potato) and a grilled cheese which comes with fries. You can pick which bread and which cheeses go on your grilled cheese which I love. Would love to be able to judge the actual food. Stopped in before a concert for apps and drinks. The service is not great. Walked in with 5 people, the bartender greeted us and said sit anywhere. Not a ton of people in there. We grabbed a booth in front of the bar and sat for minimum of 20 minutes with zero acknowledgement. Servers walked by our table several times to help the tables on either side of us and not even one hello. They definitely knew we were there! I still come here because of 1) Drink Specials and 2) Mr. Jalapeno Poppers, which is a creation from above and gifted to us mere mortals. I love to come here on Sundays for their all day happy hour. Our last few visits haven't been great, which is too bad because we visit the East Village a lot and a good, basic dinner option is always good. Main concerns: - Beer tastes like the taps haven't been cleaned... Well, ever. - Overall cleanliness is lacking; tables are sticky, floor is sticky, etc. - Not sure I've received an order of food that is 100% correct. Something isn't cooked completely, like a baked potato, or a side is wrong, etc. You might ask yourself "did you tell the server?" - Service is definitely a miss. We either wait to be seated when the place is empty, it takes forever for someone to take a drink or food order, or they disappear once they drop off your food. hard pass. read more

The food was good. Lots of bar food options. They do have a great bread bowl or baked potato smasher, but the service was horrid. The hostess sat everyone in the restaurant right by each other in a small section, even though the entire place was empty. So we had 5 tables crammed in a small area. The server then had us wait 45 minutes for our bill. She said it was because her manager needed to put in some codes in the register. I'm not sure why any of the staff who seen her struggling wouldn't have helped her out. She then told us that she isn't going to get any tips from her other tables because she spent so much time on our bill. Horrible service. Now I see why the ratings are so low. read more

I've been here a couple handfuls of times. The service has never been impeccible, but is generally acceptable. The food is about the same. They have quite a large beer selection and usually play Iowa and Iowa States games if you're into that. For food, I almost always go for the Fiesta potato. It's spicy and good. Loaded with salsa, sour cream, and cheese who wouldn't love it? I've tried some of the sandwiches and appetizers. I do enjoy the fried pickles and nachos. My go-to sandwich is the TAC. Turkey... something something. It's alright, but if you're skipping the potatoes, you're missing out. Everything else I've tried is just alright. Salad, soup, the rest of the sandwiches and apps. It's a good place to go if you want some cheap food and a game, and are already in the east village, but I wouldn't seek it out on it's own. read more

Decided to sit at the bar and the bartender that was working was very blah. He didn't seem to care to make any kind of small talk on a pretty slow day even though we were trying to loosen him up. Food surprisingly came pretty slow as well. I ordered a Bacon Avocado burger which I ordered medium but it was very well done so it came a little my dry than I traditionally would want a burger. The place itself is traditional sports bar with TVs hung all over the place. Beer selection is not so bad and pretty light on the pour when ordering a well drink. We ordered from Quinton's via DoorDash delivery. I ordered the bacon avocado burger, the description on the menu begins by describing, "crisp bacon..." The bacon was anything but crisp - it was completely rubbery, and barely cooked. The burger itself wasn't fully cooked either. (Bigger deal to me now than normally, as I am pregnant.) The mcquinton is a decently good sandwich... but the bacon is warm, the bread is toasted and warm... and the turkey is cold. Maybe I didn't read the menu correctly, but this sandwich confuses me. Did not much care for the fries. Would like to try a burger her next time. I also hear the apps are great, especially on Sunday. I literally love you guys but i have never been a disappointed in my life. The service was fine, i really wish your Mac & cheese had a heat rating on it as my mans with IBS couldnt handle it at all - we waited 15 minutes for additional ranch so I just decided to try my Buffalo wings without. They got dumb busy by the time we got our apps so we waited a bit for our second round of drinks - his fries were soggy BUT she did get our orders right with our food fixes (no veggies) anywho, I asked for Buffalo sauce to damper the mac & he still couldn't stomach it - we decided to just get our check but it took another 15 minutes to get our server. I was disappointed in the service, food, & then the entire after shopping employees taking over the bar...I have worked 8 years in food chains & was just really disappointed.
