I always get my 2007 Chevy Malibu serviced by a dealership with a good reputation. I didn't get the great service that I was expecting. I was told my car was told old for the oil change. I received it and paid $75.00. Also, If I had a Hybrid. They do not work on these cars. I keep the maintenance on it due to my carshield and I travel a lot for my employment. I have no, issues with my car. It was suggested by the service rep to get all my maintenance at Boch Chevrolet! I will be going there from now on. I am new to the Boston area. (with apologies to Rod Serling) Presented for your consideration. Meet Dave, a man beginning the process to lease a car on line during a pandemic. Will the car take him to places like a supermarket or hardware store, or will Dave be taking a trip through 'The Twilight Zone'? For those of you who like a car buying experience with zero sales pressure, this is the place to go! I saw a great lease deal on their web site and clicked 'I want this deal!'. I expected to get a response quickly but nope.. A few days go by, I click it again! And again.. no response. Even replying to a piece of spam mail did not work. It took a number of phone calls to finally get the process started and there were a couple of bumps in that process. But eventually after almost three weeks from first click the car was brought to me on a truck. Unfortunately it arrived in a broken state. I tried to have them pick it up to fix it, but had to eventually give that idea up. After getting vaccinated I brought the car to them and after two weeks with a really nice loaner my car was repaired. The delay was due to the worldwide semiconductor shortage, the part that had failed was an electronic module. I think they did pretty well getting the part so the service department gets extra points. To sum up: I think that if you walk in to buy/lease a car you will probably do as well as at any dealer, but they do not seem setup to deal with the online world, even after a year into the pandemic. They also seem to have very poor internal communication systems. Why the '4' out of '5' even though there were a number of issues? Simple, the price was extremely low, and I mean extremely low. I was not in a hurry to get the car so the delays and miscommunications did not really affect my daily life, they were actually entertaining at times, such as getting email about my end of lease options before I actually had the car. And all of the peoples that I dealt with seemed to be nice people, that goes a long way in my book. read more

The dealership does have a good price even after all the sales gimmick. I went to two different chevy dealers with a trade-in for a new BOLT. The internet sales discount requires the customer to trade in a car and finance with GM Financial. I understand the dealership makes money on trade-in and finance if arranged through the dealership. Thus able to lower the sales price. So no problem there. But I was ticked off completely and walked away when this dealership offered $10K less than KBB's trade in of my existing vehicle. I mean a little lower than KBB I can understand, but $10K less, come on...... I haggled for about 20 minutes, the dealership came up on the trade-in offer to be $2.5K less than KBB trade-in. but by then, I have lost my interests purchasing a new vehicle from them. Looking back and crunching the numbers, Quirk still beat the other dealer's price by a little. But I decided to walk away, bad taste in the mouth. read more

I was in the market for a new truck and went to Quirk not based on their reputation but they're unbeatable prices. This isn't the worst experience I've had at a dealership but it's pretty close. Everyone was pretty friendly for a big city dealership, but as a business person who deals with 250 stores from Maine to Washington DC it's not a place I feel comfortable doing business. The dealer lured me in with an unbeatable price on the truck & then offered me the most pathetic trade in price of the other dealerships that I visited. I have to say I did respect my communication with the general manager James Thorpe. He was very clear with his offer - which wasn't acceptable, but at least he laid out the whole deal and was honest about how they wanted to stick it to me. It may be surprising that this dealership has so many good reviews, but after receiving a call from Sam the sales manager who told me if I didn't take my review down which was a one star they wouldn't be able to process any paperwork... that may be the reason why there are so many good reviews. The dealership has a sign as you walk in saying to customers buy the car you like today because it may not be here tomorrow. Hello out there in Yelp land! I recently bought a new car at Quirk Chevrolet, I thought I would inform my fellow Yelpers about the experience. I will preface this by saying that I was initially biased against Quirk, having had a bad experience there 30 years ago, but times have changed and it's amazing what a difference three decades makes! Anyway, on to the review... The prospect...this place is HUGE! Thousands of cars and trucks in their massive lot and a very large dealership sales floor. Unfortunately, there was no shortage of guys in suits asking me, "Can I help you?"...It's amazing what a quick "No!" will accomplish...but I will say that I never met the Internet salesperson that I was supposed to. Instead, I got fobbed off on Terence Baker...and the experience began. The "deal"...After understanding what I wanted, and that I was here due to the Green Energy program from Mass Save...all negotiations were off the table...as I was to pay MSRP minus $7k for the car I wanted, which is exactly what I was expecting, though before I told him that, he tried to get me to reveal how much of a monthly payment I wanted and such...typical salesman tactic and one that I was prepared for as I told him that I wanted to focus on the price of the car first, and then we talk about other things. After the price was revealed, and checked out, we agreed on the price and then I told him about my down payment and the finance terms I wanted. He prepared the paperwork, took my down payment and I was to return on Monday (It was a Saturday) to take delivery. So, what did they do right? Almost all of it...I think because I was prepared mainly by many hours of internet research and knowing exactly what I wanted and exactly what I should be paying for the car that it went pretty much according to the plan I had in my mind. There was one minor hitch though, the car that I had inquired about was sold, though it was still in stock the previous day which was verified by email, however, as Quirk is such a large dealership, they had another car that was exactly the same in every detail, so I accepted that in lieu only because it was a clone of what I wanted and it was the same price. I will say that Terence Baker treated me with respect and dignity even when I had some very pointed questions for him about fees and such. He never lost his cool and treated me well. No pressure of any kind though he did employ some "salesperson" tactics, I saw them for what they were and I was fully prepared for them. No complaints there. The delivery of the vehicle also went off without a hitch...all went very well in that regard. Terence took the time to explain the various features of the car and about their service department, should I ever need it. All in all, I would say that Quirk managed to redeem themselves from the awful experience I had when I was younger and while I'm still not enamored with the car buying process (but then again, who is?), I got the car I wanted, at a price I wanted so in the end, I would say it went well at least for me in my particular circumstance. Quirk does not deserve even one star, I would give zero stars if I could. Do not buy a car from this dealership. They are untruthful and a bunch of crooks. They advertise a lower "discount" than any other dealer if you have a trade-in and then they give you nothing for your trade. Other dealers can't match the lowest price Quirk offers because Quirk is shady with their discounts and it isn't really a discount in the end. Other dealerships will give you true value for your trade-in and with the real incentives and rebates will give you the same if not better price than Quirk. The first time I shopped at Quirk they took my keys to check out my trade-in and then "lost" them. The second time I shopped at Quirk I was misled by the internet sales team. They will tell you anything to get you to come down and tell you that they will Work with you when you come to the dealership. But when I went to the dealership the first time they told me that person was out that day, which was the last day of the month and I doubt the person was out. They sat me down with a new sales member who started back at the MSRP price and not what I had come to for a price with the internet sales team. I ended up leaving because they tried to give me $1500 for my trade-in which is valued around $6-7k for trade in value. I checked back in with the internet sales team and started over and came to the same price from before and told them that I only wanted to deal with them if I came down and wanted to make sure they wouldn't lowball my trade in. I was assured I would meet with the person I was dealing with and they told me that trade-ins are valued based off a site they sent me, which I confirmed the value of $6-7k. I went back down to Quirk and asked for the internet sales member I was dealing with and then they brought out a different sales member again and tried to start over. They then lowballed me with my trade in again. Do not waste your time with this dealership. They will advertise a lower price than any other dealership but you have to "qualify" for all of their "discounts" and then they will lowball your trade-in and try to give you nothing for it. It's not worth your time. You are better off going to a more honest dealer. read more

I just found out that the reason my credit mysteriously tanked 1.5 years ago, is that this dealership ran SIX hard credit checks on me, when we originally were trying to buy a car for my boyfriend. After making us wait for hours (and telling us it would just be a couple minutes), they pressured me (not my boyfriend) into signing a very bad deal on a Chevy Cruze. My experience at this car dealership has essentially ruined my finances in all walks of life. Because of my now bad credit, we can't find secure housing during this pandemic. Let that sink in. The value of this car is about 17k, we have paid over 9k on it, and we have TWENTY THOUSAND MORE DOLLARS TO GO BEFORE OUR CAR IS PAID OFF. If you are doing the math, this means that we are losing over 10 thousand dollars, because of the lying, manipulative, and pressured sales tactics of this store. DO NOT GO HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Looking to go from payments on my car to a lease. After back and forth for a month with Jose the salesman. He said he could give 34k-36k for my trade in. Kelly blue book is 34k trade in and 38k private. I traveled over an hour. I get there and a young man did not even look at my car and said he will give my 29k. This this review is for the Service Center at Quirk. I rarely do reviews but I was particularly disappointed with their service on my Chevy Colorado on 2 out of 3 occasions: 1. I went in for a complimentary oil change and tire rotation after several thousand miles of ownership (purchased my truck at this dealership). I'm fairly meticulous and I take note of each wheels location prior to the service. I wait for 45 minutes and when I get me keys back I realize the wheels haven't been rotated. So I wait another 30 minutes for it to get back on the lift and actually have the job done. I certainly got the impression the tech was trying to skimp on the work here, and many people wouldn't have caught that and driven away. 2. My second service visit was even more frustrating and downright dangerous. I explained that I was going on a 4000 mile trip cross country and I wanted my oil changed and tires rotated. An hour long wait and I'm back on the road after my usual post-service inspection. Later in the evening I notice that my right rear wheel is missing a lug nut. Frustrated and without much time I head to the auto store to get a replacement lug nut. Surprise!...the tech had stripped my lug stud (likely using an impact driver with way too much torque).So now I have to return to the shop in the morning and cut into my trip time for them replace the lug stud. All of this costing me my own time and money. So the issues second visit are two fold and pretty egregious for any shop: 1. The service tech knowingly damaged my lug stud and let me drive away with a damaged vehicle. You can't argue this because if he had properly torqued to 140ft/lbs per the spec, the lug nut couldn't have held on the stripped lug stud. It's obvious because the lug nut came off within about 40 miles of driving (lord knows if it went through a windshield behind me). The tech clearly tried to cover up his mistake instead of replacing the lug stud. 2. Knowingly sending me on the road without having all 5 lug nuts installed and torqued properly is just a disgustingly irresponsible. Yes I'm aware that I can drive on 4 or maybe 3 lug nuts, but thats far from the point. They damaged the vehicle and tried to cover it up. So the point is this: This particular service center can't be trusted to perform simple maintenance without making mistakes, and I would not recommended you use them for anything minor or majorly wrong with your vehicle. I'd suggest some research into an independent shop in your area before resorting to the Quirk Service center. The techs are far too inexperienced, unmotivated, and simply don't take pride in their work. read more

She was incredibly patient and supportive and helpful. She answered all my questions even though I'm sure she's heard them many times before. She walked me through every step of the process and volunteered to help out and do things for me that I could certainly could've done myself but I had been feeling a little overwhelmed. I was so thrilled that she took the time and grace to do it. And I could hear a smile on her voice every time we talked on the phone. I would highly recommend that you do not use Quirk Chevrolet for service and here is why: I paid them $600 to repair my brakes. A few days later, while I was driving the left rear caliper fell off. I almost ran into the back of another vehicle. I had no brakes. The brake pedal went to the floor; I lost control of the vehicle. I could have killed someone!!! The tow truck came and noticed that the brake caliper had fallen off the left rear rotor and was on the ground. My car was towed to another dealership to be repaired. This dealership noticed that the bolts had fallen out of the left rear caliper and also after further inspection, they found that the right rear caliper bolt was loose as well. They informed me that this damage would never happen unless it was altered or someone had tampered with them. I went back to Quirk to have a conversation with them. They denied touching the bolts and said, "They aren't responsible". What's irresponsible is how they service cars and provide customer care. I asked to speak to the owner. I was told, "We're not sure if someone will call you or not". So once again I had to pay $900 to have this problem corrected at another dealership. I still have not gotten a response from Quirk one month later. Once again, I highly, highly recommend that you do not have your car serviced at Quirk. They're very dangerous. Just leased a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado Double cab 4X4 Custom from Sam and I can't say enough about the people here. Went to another local Dealer and I felt as though I was bothering them. Not here at Quirk. I honestly felt as though they ( Sam and Jay Rose) were jumping through hoops to make a deal for me that I felt was satisfactory, and they did! I've been waiting for some decent weather to snap a few pics of the truck, but Mother Nature hasn't been cooperating. I will add a few when I can. All I can say is if you are serious about getting a vehicle for a great price, you need to check them out. I know I'll be back when the lease is up on this baby! Forgot to mention I received a phone call from someone at Quirk, asking how my experience was at the dealership. I'll start with few questions: - Can you guys commit anything over the emails/phone just to get the customers to the showroom? - Do you even realize how it feels when you drive for 60 miles to get nothing? I had a very bad experience with Quirk Chevrolet. I wanted a car on lease with 0 down. So, I emailed them about my needs. One of the internet sales rep responded with $145/month for 2 years for the base model excluding upfront fees and taxes. Then I asked for the numbers for the middle trim for 3 years including all the upfront fees and taxes. I also spoke to her over the phone where I told her all my requirements in detail. So, she was supposed to send me the per month price for the middle variant for 3 years including everything (upfront and taxes). Then I got $207 including everything for 10k miles/yr. This deal was ok for me. So, I went there (more than 30 miles from my place) and did a test drive. Then comes the most ridiculous part. Even though I had talked about the deal over the email, the sales person started with around $350. Then I had to show him the email conversation. He went away for sometime and comes back after reading the whole mail chain and said they can give me the price mentioned in the email but I still have to pay the upfront fees. He said this because it was not specifically mentioned in the email as this conversation happened over the phone with the internet sales person. Actually they found a missing link in the email conversation and used it as a saviour for themselves. When I said this is way over my budget and I don't want to go ahead with this price he did not even try to convince me once as if he wanted me to leave. Pathetic! read more

We had high hopes of leasing a car through the special offer advertised on their site (Chevy Trax $85/month with zero down), but unfortunately it didn't pan out due inconsistent pricing between what had been posted on the website and what the salesman had offered ($275/month with down payment ). The salesman and the manager didn't seem like they were aware of this offer until we pulled up the Chevy website. However, the result was the same and we weren't able to get the Chevy at the price point that was advertised. It was difficult to make sense of the pricing with the countless numbers being thrown around and calculations made, so we asked for the list of fees but the Chevy representatives were unable to provide us with a breakdown of all the cost. "It doesn't matter...it doesn't make a difference" was a common response we received every time we requested for it. Without a pricing consensus on the car and rude demeanor, we had to walk away. FYI. The special lease offer ends March 2017. Maybe someone else will have better luck with this. read more

They advertised a good price on a Chevy Bolt on the Drive Green website. I texted them to confirm the price, which they did and asked me to come to the dealership. When I visited the dealership, they gave me a price that's over $1500 above what they confirmed. They blamed the Drive Green website for posting outdated price. They also gave me a trade-in that's much lower than what other dealers had given me. The sales manager, Wissam Bassil, was extremely rude and condescending. I walked out and bought the car in another dealership for much closer to the price they originally promised and got $2000 more on my trade-in. read more

I went to this dealer two different times with 2 totally different experiences. The first time Greg Merchanthouse (online sales manager) told me a price over email and once I got in, test drove the car, and then went over pricing they gave me a totally different price that was not close to what I was told over email. I made sure to be clear in the email I wanted a price that only included offers I qualified for and we were very specific over email so there should not have been any confusion but unfortunately I believe they just gave me a low price to get me in and try to sell me hard once I was there. To me this is a waste of time and I don't know why any dealerships would use this method since it clogs up dealers with customers that cannot afford to or simply will not buy a car for a price much higher then previously negotiated. You also lose all trust with the company that uses this method. The second time I came into this dealership was a totally different experience. I had my current lease in for repairs and walked over to the Chevy dealer to get some pricing information since my lease is ending soon. I had a new salesman (Larry Martin) help me look into Colorado pricing. He was amazing and straight forward with me. I appreciated the fact he did not beat around the bush and gave me direct up front numbers in a very quick timeframe. He also stayed in contact with me throughout the week with another possible deal or two. In the end the numbers did not work out exactly so I will wait for my lease to come to an end before looking around again. If the rest of the dealership did the same as Larry did customers would have a much better experience. I'm giving it 3 stars as an average. 1 Star for my first visit and 5 stars for the second. read more

I recently purchased a Chevy Cruze here from Sean Mulkerrins and couldnt be happier with the whole experience. I wasn't sure what car I wanted to buy but I did have an amount I wanted to spend and Sean helped me find the perfect fit. He didn't pressure me into buying it right away either, I left the dealership and thought about the purchase for a couple days. I came back and Sean was there to help me finish the sale. Can't stress enough that the customer service here is top notch, and they really help you through the whole process. After years of business with Quirk we are currently in a horrible situation and James Thorp is being anything but helpful. We purchased a used 2018 certified pre owned vehicle that we were told the car fax was only that the vehicle had minor scratches and would be taken care of. We have it all in writing and after picking up the car and it not driving the way one would expect my husband brought it the next morning to a body shop and mechanic where both confirmed this vehicle had damage and was in need of repair. James had us bring the car back - it has now been two weeks and we've been told that the car will never be the same due to the damage but our only option is to take the car back and deal with it or take another car that we don't want. How can a dealership certify a preowned vehicle and sell that vehicle as certified and not be held accountable for lying about a car fax report. read more

As an active duty military member stationed in California, and a lifelong New England resident, I was excited to find the truck I had been searching for at the right price; all the way back home on the east coast. I reached out to the sales team to inquire and one of the salesmen assured me the truck was in transit, to be shipped on the 21'st of February. He said that I should sign a purchase and sales agreement to solidify the sale, so I signed the document with the agreed price, and I went to my credit union to get a loan for the truck. After receiving the loan and buying my plane tickets to Boston, I was sent an email from the salesman telling me that they could not sell the truck because the general manager wanted to use it as a showroom truck. I called the dealership to explain that I had already started the process to purchase this specific truck and took a loan for that amount. The sales manager got on the phone with me and said that they could still sell me the truck, but would not be able to sell me the truck at the price that was agreed upon. I assumed a young salesman had made a mistake and after some back and forth, we agreed for them to add $500.00 to the original price (against the purchase and sales agreement I had already signed). When February 21'st came, I called Quirk to see if the truck had arrived and it had not. The salesman told me to wait until the afternoon shipment of vehicles and he would call me back in the morning to update me. After another day had passed and no one called me to update me on the location of the vehicle, I called back to ask and I was told that the trucks shipment was delayed. The dealership assured me it was normal and that I wasn't the only person this happens to. I explained to them that may be so, however, I am definitely the only person that flew across the country and with that being known from the beginning, I would have appreciated some foresight. The salesman asked me what I would like him to do and I told him I wanted him to pick up the phone and make some phone calls for me to get a better idea on the location of my truck. He said there was nothing he could do for me. I then reached out to multiple railcar and transportation companies with the VIN of my truck and finally was contacted back from a company that gave the exact location of the truck with time stamps of where it has been, and where it is going with estimated dates. After figuring out that the truck would not reach the dealership until after I had to go back to California, I at least wanted to go down and pay for the truck. I was then told that the blank check that was given to me from Navy Federal credit union could not be accepted due to it being a "liability" for the dealership. I asked them to reach out to the general manager to see if they could make an exception based on all of the events that had already transpired and I was told no exceptions would be made. I called my credit union to have another hard inquiry ran on my credit report in order to wire transfer the money to the dealership. Long story short, this was an extremely painful process with multiple mistakes, very little communication, and what seemed to be at each turn a lack of effort and professionalism from the sales team. At one point, I had even asked to speak with the general manager and was intercepted by the lead salesmen who told me the general manager had nothing to do with finding the location of my truck and it wouldn't help. in addition, I was never told about the GM military appreciation program that gave big discounts on interest rates to well qualified buyers. After I purchased the truck, I was told I had to sign into the GM military appreciation site to create an account. I don't know if salesmen don't care these days because their commission is a lot lower than it used to be, but It's safe to say that I will not be buying from any Quirk locations again. read more

My husband, kids and I went here yesterday. We stood in the showroom for about 5-10 minutes and not one salesperson acknowledged us. Granted it was busy, but we weren't greeted and asked to wait so we left. A few salespeople walked by and gave us a smile or nod, but nothing else. I just bought a Chevy Bolt at Quirk Chevrolet. I went through the Mass Energy program, and the dealership was fabulous. Shayne was extremely knowledgeable about electric vehicles, and was patient answering all our questions. There is a large selection of Bolt LTs (though very few Premiers ). Excellent prices. Unfortunately this is one of those dealers and brands everyone should stay away from. It pains me to say because I'm excited about the Bolt. The dealership makes the purchase process incredibly frustrating because they assume you're an idiot and their opening offers are complete price gauges. Then you have to spend hours and hours playing the "game" just to get a decent (and appropriate) price. This is what happened to me when I bought my Volt. But then that only gets you to GM Financial (if you lease), which may the most incompetent company on the planet. Their online portal is useless and their call center will tell you one thing one day (after spending an hour trying to get an answer) and something else the next week (after spending another hour, this happened today). read more
