My boyfriend and I took the shuttle from The Market to get here. We had the premium all-inclusive package which included 30% off the surcharge. So how the "all inclusive" at this restaurant works is that each person orders an appetizer, an entree, a side and a dessert. The crab cake was delicious! Fried burrata cheese was good. The filet mignon and rack of lamb were okay - nothing extra ordinary I paid for an extra dessert because I couldn't decide what to get. The apple pear streusel was amazing and the carrot cake was good. My boyfriend ordered the red wine sorbet and if you like red wine, this dessert is for you. Ambiance - upscale restaurant with a nice view. there is a dress code so please check before you go. We did not encounter any issue with service - it was good but nothing exceptional. My family comes to the Quivera Steakhouse our final night here staying at Pueblo Bonito Sunset! My parents are Novispana owners in points to trade up and down the property as they wish. We've been coming here for 10+ years. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because: -we were 5 people was a 6:30 reservation (so one of the first seating times). At first they said we couldn't sit outside because they had other reservations of larger parties at 8-8:30. For how much my parents send and how often they come (2x a year), I think we shouldn't have been initially told no when the restaurant outside was relatively empty still. After we sat at the bar for drinks first, they were able to find us a spot outside. Francisco however was amazing and enthusiastic staff! He made the dinner so amazing and took great care of us. First thing, we noticed they changed up the appetizer menu to some more elevated offerings. I got the Salmon Tartar and it was delicious with the white truffle butter. Other family got the Rock Shrimp which was delicious. For mains, the Filet Mignon I got was medium rare! While some may not like it this rare, I thought it was great- not bloody at all when you cut into it. I would give this place negative stars if I could. My husband and I have been here twice while residing at condos owned by quivira. Both times, experience was absolutely embarrassing. The second time, we walked out. We tried to give them a second chance, it wasn't worth it. Their staff is absolutely arrogant, no acknowledgement of a human waiting. I rather go somewhere else and pay more to get the service we deserve. Very disappointing and highly reflective on quivira as they take pride in their service and quality. Me and my husband and I had such a great experience here. The location is breathtaking, stunning view of the beach. Wonderful service! We had the filet, mac and cheese, lobster tails, mashed potatoes for the main, and the crab cake, calamari for the appetizers. The restaurant setting is beautiful. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. The steaks and lamb chops were very good but the kitchen staff needs to address the cold side dishes we were served. We should have sent them back but since we were sharing them, we had already plated them. Side dishes should be last on the plate before serving, unless the plate is hot enough to keep them warm. It's known as the steakhouse, but I think it has the best breakfast in the entire Pueblo bonito complex. We prefer it to the other resorts on the property. The green juice is healthy, delicious and full of the healthy pulp- other properties serve it, but it is watery. There are lots of breakfast choices from traditional American bacon and eggs to Mexican Classics like huevos rancheros . And most of the time it is not nearly as crowded as Pacifica or sunset beach , so service is personal and prompt. Even the breakfast sandwich packed to go is amazing !! read more

I would do this again if you have all inclusive and only need to pay the up charge. If you're paying out of pocket I'd avoid it. It is very good and it's beautiful but we had to send our steaks back due to them being purple raw (after ordering medium rare). One was still absolutely rare after putting them back on but didn't want to fuss more. An expensive steakhouse should get this right every time. This was set to be the main attraction for our stay at the sunset resort. However it fell incredibly short experience wise. Spent the entire dinner worrying about the birds above our head. This restaurant has an open floor set up and the bannisters provide plenty of nesting spots for birds. We spent the night trying to cover up from being pooped on, thankfully our food was missed. My shirt suffered. Beyond uncomfortable experience, watching our food and drinks and praying the birds droppings would miss them. We brought our situation to managements attention and we're replied with: "well what do you want us to do" "It's natural" Perhaps next time don't plop a table in the most accessed space for the birds? Disappointed to say the least. Food was ok, experience horrific. ------------------------------------------ Update: Truly appreciative of the restaurant and the steps they took to rectify the situation. Our hotel concierge and the owner of Quivira were terribly upset by my experience at the restaurant and assured me that, that type of experience is not the experience they want any of their guests to endure. Went last night and while the food was good, I drank my last sip of wine and when I did I felt something in my mouth. It was a dead fly!!! All they said was, oh! That's it! Nothing else. No sorry, wow, comp on a drink, reverse the up charge we paid for the bottle of wine or the $300.00 we paid for three lobster tails which they never told us the price. It was ridiculous. Yet another huge disappointment of the "up charge" restaurants in the Pueblo Bonito family of resorts in Cabo. We had the premium all inclusive plan and so paid a flat $40 or so per person to eat a 3 course meal here. Our family of 14 people arrived at Montecristo estates villas on a Saturday and rented 2 villas for the week. I had wanted to book a reservation at this steakhouse prior to our arrival as I know it gets booked up quickly but the concierge said we could not reserve a table until we arrived on property. Ok fine. The day we arrived I sat down with the concierge upon checkin and reserved a table for the 14 of us to dine together to celebrate birthdays for 3 of us who had just turned 60. I wrote the birthday names on a piece of paper and gave it to the concierge person that made our reservation. I gave her a $10 tip for her help and she booked us for Thursday at 6:00 pm at the steakhouse. Our entire party arrived 15 minutes before our 6 pm reservation, although there were only 12 of us instead of 14 as originally booked. The waiters proceeded to seat us a 2 separate tables that were very far apart and at opposite ends of the restaurant. When we asked if they could push the tables together they refused, and explained that the concierge messed up by not telling us we couldn't all be seated together. This was unacceptable since we were there to celebrate 3 milestone birthdays and we proceeded to argue with the manager for the next 25 minutes, offering him an extra $200 to seat us altogether. He still refused and said it was not about the money. Eventually, he begrudgingly ended up moving the tables together since we decided to take a stand on the issue and not give in. Unfortunately, our experience did not improve from there. The sommelier came over with the wine list on his iPad. I was stunned by the prices of these very average wines. Most were $100 USD ++ per bottle. See below partial wine list I took pics of. The USD to Peso conversion was about .05 while we were there. Menu is in pesos. We ended up getting 2 different bottles of red at around $80 USD per bottle. I suggest you skip the wine list altogether and just order the house wines included with the all inclusive plan. I ordered the ribeye steak, salad and a forgettable dessert. All quite average. Think Applebees and that gives you an idea of the quality. I like Applebees but I expected far better at a fancy "steakhouse" like this. The ribeye was about 1/2" thick (much thinner than expected), and rubbery tough hard to cut. Almost no marbeling, no juice and no flavor. I think they sous vide it and gave it a quick grilling after. The lobster was an additional $100 USD on top of the $40 up charge on our all inclusive plan. That just seems a ridiculous up charge, and again, not terribly special when one of us ordered it. The service was decent considering the size of our party, but still a bit slow. It was super hot and balmy that night as well, so sitting outside became unbearable after just a few minutes. Oh and the dress code? I guess it has changed/relaxed since I saw some previous reviews. Many guys were wearing cargo shorts and tennis shoes. This is fine except all the men in our party were wearing long pants because we had been advised shorts were not allowed. This coupled with the 90 degree balmy evening with no breeze, the initial poor reception we received from the manager that evening and the average food/overpriced wine list was just all too much to bear. Skip this place and just go eat at the La Nao buffet or the Cibola clubhouse restaurant instead. This steakhouse is simply not worth the upcharge at all. read more

We were one of the last reservations of the night so we didn't get to experience what I can imagine amazing sunset views, but it still was amazing. We were there in December so the restaurant was decorated and being there at night was great. I would go back and would recommend others to try. read more

Not the same quality you get at high end steakhouses in the US, but good if you're craving meat and don't mind the $35 upcharge from the all inclusive. I had the filet (not as tender as my husband makes using Costco steaks, but ok) and my husband got the cowboy steak, with mushrooms and mashed potatoes as sides and corn bisque with crab cake and beef tartar as appetizers. The corn bisque was delicious! Was scraping the bowl. The crab cake was seasoned in a southwestern style with lots of filler (onion, peppers, etc.) and I wasn't a fan. The beef tartar was a huge portion and different from what we're used to. It was very creamy instead of being bound mostly with egg, and I didn't detect and gherkin. The mashed potatoes and mushrooms were nothing special, but the Bearnaise sauce with the steaks was wonderful. We were surprisingly very happy with the desserts. I had the banana cream pie and my husband had the neapolitan flan. I usually care more about the savory parts of a full meal, but the desserts were actually just as good and a very satisfying end to the meal. read more

USDA prime meat perfectly cooked and yet delivered to your table blistering hot. How did they do that and why doesn't every steakhouse do the same?! Everything else was lackluster and I'm disappointed we wasted one of our precious evenings in Cabo at this restaurant. As a party of three, I understand it's an odd number for table seating. With open tables all around, we were seated at a table for two with a chair pulled up that was in the main thoroughfare. It's obvious the thought was...just cram them in and move them in and out. Service was not on point, food was marginal and ignore anyone who tells you men must wear long pants and closed toe shoes.
