BLUF: Prompt, efficient, courteous, expensive service. We called Quix Plumbing Service to repair a flushometer toilet. Quix was very transparent about its prices and cost estimates. They told us that appointments during the weekend started at $350, but started at $175 (plus tax) on weekdays. We opted to delay the service appointment to a weekday. Quix called us the night before to schedule a time window. Phil, our assigned plumber, was early, fixed the problem quickly, and gave estimates on optional repairs. Quix promptly provided a payment receipt with work description via email, and they also gifted two bottles of scented hand soap. Interestingly, Quix Plumbing Services doesn't handle sewer-related work; you will need another provider for that work scope. While I might strongly consider becoming a plumber in my next life (because the industry charges $$$$), in this life we would consider calling Quix again for internal plumbing needs. read more

UPDATE. QUIX has not returned calls to address the issues (I will remove or update the review with a more positive rating if they do so. Otherwise the response below from the manager is words without action). They installed a Delta T13420 shower+tub faucet. The water pressure is extremely low. 45+ min to fill a tub (40x24x12 inches). I called Delta customer service. The rep told me the plumber should have inspected the lines before installing it, and use a flow meter or a measuring bucket to check the flow. The 2nd plumber who came the next day did not check the mixing valve or the cartridge. He broke the faucet while fiddling with it (there was no issue). He broke the spigot from the wall and soldered a proprietary adapter. The blow torch broke the tiles. He did not solve the problem. When I went to Crest hardware in Brooklyn to look for a possible solution, the associate, who has experience as a plumber shook his head when I showed him photos of the job. He said the plumber should not have soldered that adapter to the wall, which prevents using most common faucets. Quix customer service did not address the questions. I asked how long should it take to fill a tub. He said "at least you won't get scalding water" The Delta customer service stated that it should take 10-15 minutes. Now it takes 45-50 min. I suggest customers pay attention while the plumber is working, and ask questions, as they won't explain what are doing and the pros and cons. And inform yourself on the job needs to be done with online resources. original review below. 2 plumbers came on 2 different days, February 1st and 2nd, 2023 The first one was polite, a guy from Dominica. He replaced a 3-hand bathtub faucet, with a single knob. After he left I realized the water pressure was really low, and that it would take 45 min to fill the tub. They sent someone the next day scheduled at 8 am. He was more than 2 to 3 hours late and they called 90 min after the scheduled appointment. The 2nd plumber took a long time and broke the tile around the faucet. His attitude was aggressive. I told him that my water shut-off valve was leaking. He just yelled to not touch it. He left a mess and did not fix the problem. Instead of addressing the problem or explaining he acted like a bully. A guy from customer service called the next day after i noticed the water pressure was even lower. The rep on the phone claimed that the new kind of faucet levers have less water pressure. And claimed that the old 3-hand shower handles are not for sale anymore, i checked there are several for sale at Lowes in Brooklyn. The tone could have been polite. I go diving half of the year and I always need to fill the tub to rinse my wetsuit and gear. Waiting 45 min to fill a medium-sized tub is inconvenient. The plumber could have discussed the issue beforehand. The 2nd plumber the next day should have acted in a more polite and professional way. The customer service representative could have been less antagonistic. I would rather have a different company fix the issues in an old tenement building. But it is the landlord's choice. I lived in this apartment for 15 years, and this was the worst experience with a contractor. I would give it 1 star, but at least the first plumber was friendlier. so 2 stars. The customer service person on the phone refused to send someone to address the problem. They left my bathroom a mess, with a problem that I did not have before. I would just like the water pressure to be restored to the way it was, being able to fill my tub in 10 minutes rather than 45 minutes. I prefer to post positive reviews of businesses that I appreciate. But in this case, it was such a negative experience, that it may be relevant to potential customers to be aware of this. read more

My building hired Quix to replace a water heater. I think was quite surprised after checking Quix's website about the discrepancies between their promoted service and the service I received: reliable and "no mess left behind" 5/24/24 I let the man and a considerably younger teenager employee into the basement area where the water heater needed replacing. I asked him to let me know when they were finished because I have to shut/lock the door from the inside out. The door to outside was left open/ajar when I walked out my connecting room and realized they had left. They replaced the water heater while leaving the old one, as well as the rest of their trash in the basement. They proceeded to leave the large cardboard box that the water heater came with blocking my stairway entrance. I finally know why these company wants to charge $195 per hour, they've going to add hours to you for their workers break time, and add extra people to work for extra $195 a hour even there is small job, then you have to spend a week to talk back and forth with them, i say if you have time and money you can go with them! read more
