Definitely a must try restaurant for anyone who lives nearby. This spot gets everything right- plenty of parking, fast and friendly service, elegant decor, big portions, and delicious food! Admittedly, I'm not an expert in Polish cuisine, but this restaurant has greatly increased my interest in trying more! Outside of the food, there's many things to like about this restaurant. The decor is nice and modern, and the presentation of the food is good for this price point. The restaurant is comfortable and good for sitting in for a while, with service that is extremely friendly. This reminds me of another excellent restaurant A Thousand Tales, where we are treated like family on every visit - even on the first visit there. It's very clear how proud the staff is of the restaurant and the food they serve, and they take the effort to explain the food to the diner. Fortunately, the food is just as good as it looks. I've been looking for food that's prepared from scratch with high quality ingredients that aren't reliant on heavy sauces, and this really hit the mark. Everything from the bread with herbs and butter to the delicious soups was prepared fresh and tasty. Similarly, with the chips and salsa - it was clear that this was homemade with a great flavor to match. Unsurprisingly, the pastor tacos were full of flavor, with a generous amount of slightly fatty pork, fresh cilantro, and onions served with fresh lime. These were some of the best tacos I've had in recent memory from any restaurant, and I am definitely a huge fan of the preparation (the sweetness of the pineapple juice perfectly matched the bold mix of spices). The sampler platter was also a great option which gave a mix of many different items. The goulash was delicious with the mushrooms and sautee pepper. The pierogis had the perfect firmness and delicious filling. The sausage was flavorful and juicy. The potato pancakes could've been a bit more crisp but the flavor was still good. The breaded pork schnitzel was tasty and had just the right amount of breading. Overall, definitely recommend going to this spot for anything that's looking for high quality made from scratch food at a reasonable price point. Polish food? No. This is a summary of a pick up order. -Beef goulash potato pancakes. The potato pancake imposters were severely burned on one side, over salted, and should not have been offered for consumption. The watery soup, which was supposed to resemble goulash, contained chunks of pork meat with fat chunks attached. I located several mushrooms in the watery liquid. -Seasonal pierogi, described to be mixed variety, some containing lobster and spinach... I was sold cheese and potato pierogi only. They appeared to be deep fried in used oil. I located chunks of unidentified meat like substance mixed in with the pierogi. -Ceviche: chunks of rock hard, not ready for consumption yet, avocado. -Side dish of rice. Really good. I called the restaurant about an hour and 30 minutes after I picked up this order. I spoke with the same person who handed me the order, who related over the phone he has been serving this food for 13 years and no one was ever dissatisfied. He apologized for my experience and offered to refund the $75 I paid, or issue me a coupon for a couple of free of charge meals. I declined the meals and requested a refund. Quiinarnia is a Polish fusion restaurant. No, it's name isn't Polish it's the owner's creation combining the words cool and the mythical Narnia. This cozy restaurant has a feel like you stepped into a living room complete with a bookcase full of books. We ordered the sampler plate and el pastor tacos. Each entrée comes with soup. The soups were delicious, freshly made and not an afterthought. The el pastor tacos were cooked perfectly with lots of flavor. The polish sampler plate gave us a chance to try many items, all terrific. My favorites were the perogis and the potato pancakes. This is a family run operation, including the dog to greet you at the door. The owner was very friendly, answered all of our questions and talked with us for a while. While I may not be Tom Hanks, we do have at least one thing in common, we've both eaten at Quilnarnia. read more

The food is flavorful, delicious, and well prepared here!  Our party of 4 ordered a Polish sampler platter for 2, a rainbow trout entree, and a pork shank entree.  The pork shank was very tender, and the trout was also very fresh.  The platter for 2 struck us as being on the smallish side, but a whatever on that as it was all tasty.  Overall, except maybe on that platter for 2, the prices are reasonable though they are currently at 4% higher than the printed menu prices.  Complimentary warm bread slices were also provided. Their dining space is not that big, so I called in with a reservation for 4.  It probably wasn't needed on a Thursday night, but it doesn't hurt to make one.  Marvin was our informative server and he's also a partner here.  They kept the place on the cool side so I'm glad I had my light jacket with me.  I'll go with 4.5 rounded up to 5 stars for our outing.  We will make an effort to return sometime and try some other dishes. read more

We go there about twice a year, never disappointed. The food is always fresh tasting and hot. The potato pancakes are outstanding, a bit crispy served with a fruit jam and sour cream. I got their sample platter and loved every single item (pierogi ruski, kielbasa, sauerkraut, cabbage rolls). I got the grilled sausage to go The rainbow trout is listed as boneless but had bones so the host generously offered a dessert for the trouble. What a jewel of an elevated polish cuisine. All of their dishes are fresh savory and delicious.

I was craving Polish food and was checking out some in the area and this popped up! It was super cozy inside and very homey. Our server was super welcoming and didn't treat us any worse because we weren't polish. I ordered the chicken soup to start and then sampler plate. The chicken soup was warm and had plenty of herbs. The pierogies were delicious. The skin was cooked perfectly and the potatoes inside were flavorful. I loved the potato pancake. It was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and not as greasy as I expected. The wrapped cabbage was also made well, the shape stayed together and it wasn't too bland. I didn't love the sausage and it was a bit tough but everything else was great! I get the vibes that this restaurant is mom-and-pop and it's a local spot, so I want to show lots of support! This place is worth your time and hunger. I had the Beef Goulash and it was like a "warm hug" on a windy cold Chicago night. The Goulash was served with potato pancakes and coleslaw. The beef in the goulash was tender and full of flavor. One of the owners was my server and he couldn't have been nicer. After seeing this place on an episode on Check Please, I decided to give this cuisine one last try. I'm glad I did because this place has become my new favorite. The perogies were absolutely amazing! It was served in a bed of sauerkraut guarded by the Best potato dumplings I've had. The duck in whatever sauce it had was excellent but little rubbery thus the 4 stars. I hate to do this, but coming from a polish family this was outrageous food. The perogies are not even fried, inside is dry weird potato mixture taste like powder potatoes. The golompki inside the meat was DRY, looks like a few days old, see the picture. Potato pancakes were gross, the taste was not there. They were fried properly, but doesn't taste good at all and we ordered an extra plate of them. Lucky my husband was hungry and just ate it anyway because we are paying..... the cabbage was good I will give them that. The other thing, bacon should be crispy and this was soggy bacon - gross. Literally the highlight of my meal here was the apple sauce, my Peroni beer and the sausage that came that's probably bought from Andy's deli or Deli 4 U. We sat outside because they had a baby shower inside which is fine. Our waiter from the beginning turned into like 3 different people? Not sure who our waiter or waitress is. Word to management: FRY your perogies or at least offer to fry them. No one, maybe the very few want soggy bacon pieces. Caramelize them. The potato pancakes were rather dry and the flavor was off not tasty not sure what you guys do to them. Taken aback by my latest experience. I tried placing a phone order in advance and the woman on the phone was really terse and seemed annoyed that I was calling. She put me on hold a few times and then told me they were too busy to take my order to for that day. They didn't offer to call back or suggest for me to call later. I understand being slammed but the rudeness really put me off. Highly disappointed. It seems like they are understaffed and the staff are clearly not happy about it.
