The fact that Mark Kelly is discounting the problem and then avoids communicating over the phone to solve the issue speaks to his lack of integrity and customer service. A 1 inch crack in my home's foundation was missed by Mr. Kelly. The crack runs down the cripple wall and through the footing. You could see daylight through it from the crawlspace. He should at least try to rectify the situation by running it through his insurance if he has any. At the very least talk to me over the phone. We may able to agree on something before I take him to court.

However, 2 days into the project we discovered Alliance had disposed of the majority of the contents in 2 bedrooms that were not textiles. Steve Knght was pleasant to work with at first, but then became very rude, unhelpful, and not honest about costs as time went on. I lived out of town and when his quote for counters came at a significantly larger cost then he originally quoted, would not help me find a suitable replacement for a rental and only guided me to places with no pictures to use. He then CHOSE the counters without my approval and was dishonest about the cost to put them in, asking me for an additional $6k months later that somehow "wasn't on the invoice". From speaking with others in Santa Barbara this is a typical experience. If you choose him, account for 150% or so of the price he quoted you initially. My tenant is also a handyman and was inspecting his crews work. He said he had to be on top of them to mount the cabinets correctly, and somehow storage space and cabinets just disappeared. If he hadn't been onsite I think it would have been very poorly constructed.

We recently discovered evidence of termites, and remembering our positive experience, we called him again. He came to inspect the situation very quickly. Honestly, he was available to come the next day, but my work schedule delayed us. He arrived to do the inspection at the time he said he'd be there, and the inspection was quick and thorough. He provided a detailed explanation of our situation and the steps he'd need to take to address it. His explanation left us very confident that he knew what he was doing. The next step, soil treatment, was scheduled on the day of the inspection. That day he arrived on time and knocked it out. Some of the work he needed to do involved drilling through our foundation but this left no mess at all. What little foundation dust there was, he cleaned up. We felt the estimate was reasonable, and our final bill was exactly what he quoted us. The guy is super personable, explains everything in a detailed way, and is very efficient.
