    Finished tattoo laying down

This tattoo shop is super cute and in a cozy little corner of Leesburg. I had sent over a consult/appointment request through Yelp and got a response very quickly! I was looking to get some song lyrics tattooed on my back and was told to just come on by and someone would chat with me about price and appointments - or they might get me in that day. I found parking easily about a block away and walked into the shop and was immediately greeted by everyone working there. I ended up working with Steviee. She was super sweet and took what I had brought her and worked with the placement and style I was looking to get. I did not have an appointment but she was able to get me in right then and there! She enlarged the words I brought to make sense on my upper back, so they were visible and not all squished together. She set up her station quickly and got the outlined placed exactly where I wanted it on the first try. The tattoo didn't take long and she had a gentle and steady hand the entire time. I didn't feel like she was digging into my skin but the letters towards my armpit most definitely stung, haha! The end result were amazing and very happy with her lettering and skill! I will be back to talk about a cover up design I am interested in getting so definitely check out this place when you are in the area! Cheers!

I wouldn't go here. The tattoo I had done was a cover-up, and the work is so sloppy and crooked. The spacing between the bands is inconsistent. Really embarrassing. I am going to a different studio to have it fixed because the work was done so badly BY THE OWNER. I tried to schedule a follow-up to discuss my concerns as it was healing (so 4 weeks out), and they just blew me off the day before because something "came up," and they weren't going to call me and let me know. The only way I found out ahead of time was because I called to confirm the appointment. Just. Terrible.

I was super worried about getting my daughter's ears pierced. A friend recommended Vic and honestly we couldn't have asked for a better experience! Vic is super clean with her instruments and work space. My daughter handled this better than a vaccine!! A few pointers... Vic only takes walk-ins. If a minor is getting pierced make sure you bring their birth certificate and/or passport and the parent's ID. Be prepared for your child to not remove the earring and not swim for at least 4-6 weeks

Of course, once her ears were pierced, she cried a bit because of the pain, but then we found out they had pierced the wrong earrings. The staff member said, "I grabbed the wrong one," and explained that switching them right away or re-piercing would hurt. While the staff was very apologetic and did give us a gift certificate for the correct earrings to replace within 6 weeks, it still did not make up for how traumatic the experience was for my daughter. I really feel the staff should have confirmed with us one last time which earrings were being used before piercing her ears. Now my daughter is stuck wearing earrings she does not even like, and I honestly do not know how I am going to convince her to come back in 6 weeks after such a bad experience. We have used Upper Lobe in the past and never had an issue. I wish we had used their services again instead of trying Rowan. Unfortunately, this was not a good first experience for my family.

The "licsensed" professional working there should have. I was also traveling across the country and noted this many times bc I don't think they understood? Or wasn't paying attention. So they told me to come back in 2 weeks to check my posts, which I soon learned was on WAY too tight and causing swelling all this time. I mean, The girl "piercing" me also asked for 20 opinions acting unsure should have been my "nope gotta go" sign. I think she asked an 8 year old customer at one point. Who knows. She spoke like she rolled out of a barrel of hay and decided to pierce ears in a shopping center, which was placed in a cow field. Not the 8 year old girl. The "registered nurse". They also recited after care instructions like a postal service worker who stood at the same counter for 40+ years. Way too fast. Looked at the ceiling. Totally memorized. They also told me I could go in the ocean and pool but to avoid lakes and rivers. Also wrong. I should avoid any type of open water. They gave me a bag with aftercare info and aftercare solution. They didn't ever tell me they were charging me $20 for the aftercare solution. Over priced. Not friendly staff. I honestly think you're better off at Claire's. This is after 2 weeks of piercing. I was so cautious and careful with keeping area clean and not touching. Just left urgent care and am on antibiotics to treat. I should charge the store for my copay and medication. Stay. Away.

I…read moreswallowed the high price tag expecting premium service, but their customer service is completely rigid and lacking any basic empathy. Be prepared to spend hundreds of dollars once you factor in the premium jewelry they require you to purchase. Their piercing appointments are scheduled for an hour, yet the actual piercing only takes about 5-10 minutes. A significant portion of the appointment is spent discussing and selling jewelry. The real problem came with the follow-up downsizing appointment. After they emailed me to schedule it, the earliest availability was about a month out. As a new mom coordinating childcare for a baby and making a 40-minute drive through NoVA traffic is not easy. The downsizing appointment itself is only scheduled for 20 minutes, which made what happened next even more frustrating. Unfortunately, there was a lot of traffic on a Saturday and I arrived 12 minutes late. When I got there, a front desk lady met me at the door and refused to let me in. My appointment was canceled on the spot because I hadn't called or texted to say I was running late. I was driving and not checking my phone, which apparently didn't matter. There was no flexibility, no understanding, and no sympathy whatsoever for any circumstances. I was told another client was waiting in their car. So after waiting a month for an appointment, arranging my schedule around a baby, and driving 40 minutes, I left without receiving any service at all. Their policies may be their policies, but customer service matters too. The experience felt cold, inflexible, and completely dismissive. Given how much time is built into their appointments and how heavily they emphasize jewelry sales, I was surprised there was absolutely no flexibility for a customer who was a little late due to traffic. There are plenty of piercing studios out there, and after this experience, I would absolutely not waste time here. The prices are already high, and the lack of consideration for customers and new moms made me feel like a lesser person.

So I had to let them heal before I could get it done right. I had mostly had Jen do the piercings and the downsizing when it came time. She always gave feedback and was very patient with my questions as well. Tobias was the last person I saw for what was supposed to be a last downsize before I'm set until they heal, but they recommended I stick with the current post. So I actually didn't have to have anything else done. Now, I'm just waiting for my helixes to heal! Here are some more information that may help you determine if Brilliance Piercing is the studio for your piercing needs: they require appointments for any type of service (no drop-ins/walk-ins); they only work with jewelry they have for sale (I believe this is to ensure that the quality of the jewelry is top-notch and they know exactly the metal content - optimal healing conditions); when you have an appointment, you can't bring anyone with you; their jewelry are quite pricey, but not much more than other studios around. Their team is always upbeat, friendly, patient and knowledgeable: they will answer any question you may have and also always ensure you are aware of anything important regarding your piercing after care, etc. They have a wide selection of jewelry appropriate for whatever piercing you're getting! I'm happy with my experience and will come back for more piercings when I'm ready! I trust their professional opinions and also feel comfortable with the quality of their services. Definitely recommend.

When we first walked in the staff seemed super friendly with other customers, but the second it was our turn the vibe completely changed. We waited over an hour just to be helped, then the apprentice seemed annoyed that we were asking about jewelry prices. Sorry for wanting to know what we're paying for? Some pieces were $300-$370 each, which I understand because it's solid gold, but the way we were treated when we didn't want to spend that much made us feel judged and uncomfortable. The actual piercing process was also not great. The piercer smelled strongly like cigarettes while working on my ear (not exactly comforting), and he was really rough with my friend's piercing and kept bumping into her other piercings during the process. Overall the welcoming vibe disappeared FAST and the whole experience felt awkward and judgmental. Save yourself the weird energy and just drive the extra 12 minutes to Mister Finister's Tattoo & Piercing for a much better experience.

He asked me to send him inspiration so I created a sample in AI just to share my idea as he requested. He absolutely did not like that approach as he felt it inhibited his creative freedom. I tried explaining that it was just a point of reference, much like my Pinterest vision board. I was so excited on my way to the consultation appointment. However, after driving 1 hour in the rain, he cancelled it on the spot because of our creative differences. He claimed to have sent an email to cancel the meeting in advance but actually DID NOT so my time was completely wasted. I thought I was the client. A tattoo is a permanent decision. He even admitted to me in the first meeting that in his own words was literally "dog s*&t at checking email" which was an unprofessional red flag from the beginning. He actually repeated that statement several times to me. Now I see why. I feel that my input should be respected. Upon my arrival to his shop, Killian began to be confrontational and disrespectful with the tone in which he chose to speak. I mentioned that coming to the appointment (that he had just cancelled) was a bad use of my time, he became defensive and rude and blamed it on me. I found Killian to be unprofessional and difficult to work with. After leaving this review, he sent me an unpleasant email further voicing negative comments. Getting a tattoo or several in my case is a very personal experience where you should be made to feel completely safe and that is not the case with Killian. If you want to have creative input over your personal design process, I recommend going to Unbroken in Reston. You deserve respect when paying a vendor for a service and have your vision carried out professionally and collaboratively.
