I typically get my nails done about once a month, but the last two visits have been disappointing. The technicians do not seem to thoroughly check their work. I've been repeatedly nicked around the cuticles, and during my most recent visit my nails were uneven in both length and shape. Unfortunately, due to the lack of attention to detail and consistency, I don't plan to return. They also gave me a quote of how much my nails were going to cost based on my inspo pic. Their parking was right in front. The store was nice and bright, playing Chinese pop music covers which I enjoyed listening to. My tech was bin for the hands and I didn't catch the tech name who did my toes. I have to say the skill for bin was excellent!! He matches my inspo pic closely and I loved this set the best out of all the ones I have ever gotten. Soooooo good! I had a previous gel x experience that actually had me scared to try it out again, but I ended up coming here hoping it would be different, and it was! It didn't burn at all when he was applying the gel x and sealing it with the black light like the other place did (probably top 5 painful) so I'm glad! He was super clean cut on prepping my nails and trimming all the old skin. I used to come to this place every month and then because of the distance, I started going somewhere else. But I ended up coming back because of the quality of their products. I like that I show a picture of what I'm looking for and they'll tell me if they can or can't do it. Or they'll tell me it won't look identical and say they can try. And then I can say yes or no based off one nail. I've only had one instance where one of their newer nail artists (a man) felt way more rough with my hands than usual. I did ask him to be more gentle. I was able to still feel his thumb print where he pulled my hands. I just make sure to always schedule with Abby or one of the women. I got a magnetic gel and it was $20 extra for cat eye but it didn't even look like cat eye. Don't waste your money with that. I can see why so many people are doing their own nails now. I spent almost $200 for hard gel and pedi. Gel x is also an option but costs more than acrylic. I asked the nail tech what the difference is and she only said gel x is easier. I should have stuck to acrylic since it was less expensive and harder for her to do. read more

Started coming here September/October of last year. Since they changed to R&C Nails Spa, I have been back twice. Q is meticulous and takes her time. I have been beyond satisfied with the end result both times. They have been exactly how I wanted them. I have been getting my nails done for years and they have never lasted a month or more like when Q does them. My nails now are much stronger. The nail salon has a very relaxed atmosphere, Although the street outside is busy. I appreciate this because I am one of those who cannot relax their hand so every little thing helps. Want to come here because I had a nail emergency and I saw this place had good reviews. I called and made an appointment for the next day and I needed services asap since my thumb nail broke. (This is not the place I usually get my nails done but they couldn't see me right away). The day of the appointment (2/15/25)- I went in explaining I wanted gel manicure but I needed help on my thumb nail that was broken. I really wanted to save it because I had worked hard to grow out the length. Instead of providing me with options on how to fix it, the nail tech just put nail glue and then followed up with base coat. I literally could have done this myself. So I let it be and thought maybe it would work. My thumb nail didn't last two days. -it was broken again. When I called them the following day about my thumb nail, the person who answers only said that they used a hard gel for an overlay. How is that helpful? On top of that. My nails are so LUMPY. Are lumpy nails the standard? I ended up going somewhere else to fix my thumb nail but didn't want to pay immediately for new nails. However, it's barely been a week and my gel is literally lifting and my hair is getting caught. The worst nails I've paid for in a really long time. Never again. read more

I found this salon on Yelp. I was very impressed with their work and photography skills. They were very aesthetically pleasing. I was looking for a salon that does Japanese nails and Chinese nail styles. I was so happy when I found CL Atelier. So, I decided to make an appointment by calling the salon. They were very friendly on the phone. Easy to book. I would say that their service is on top, along with a reasonable price. If you are looking for pretty designs with hard gel or Gel X, it will be $90+ (they may increase their prices, so text or call for a quote) I returned several times to get my nails done with different nail techs like Amy, Mandy, Mika, and others that I forgot their names. I don't want to point out any nail tech because all of them are nice, but one time that I decided to try out hard gel, by the time I came back, my nail tech soaked off my nails with acetone. From what I know with other nail techs, you use the drill to take off the gel polish, then leave a thin layer of hard gel, you don't drill the nails all the way down to their natural nails. Then, you refill their hard gel layer. By using the acetone, then trying to scrape off the hard gel, and then refilling it again was painful. That process of her scraping made my nails weak and hurt, and I questioned her skills with hard gel. That one bad experience does not stop me from going here because I think they have good service. It was just the last previous visits I went to that turned me down a little bit. I paid hundreds of dollars here because the service is that good! I came here over and over again for my nails because I was mostly happy. The reason why it's 3 stars is the last time I went truly disappointed me. My nail tech was late, it took longer than usual for my nails. The design was not what I wanted. I think because of the language barrier. They cut my nails too short. I was so upset walking out of there because I had been growing them with so much effort. When I was in the salon, there were few clients, probably because of the weekdays. The other techs did not have any clients, so they were free. I didn't mind what they were doing, I just wanted my nails done. Then, I saw one of them start to vape inside the nail salon. I have nothing against vaping, but I don't think it is appropriate and professional when there are clients or a client there. The service itself is excellent, just some here and there are misunderstandings. I think this salon will grow greatly if they communicate with clients more, and being more professional will go a long way. I'm really sad to have to write this. I've been going here since they opened and have had the best service and quality. The high prices *were* worth it to me! However, the past few times I've gotten a manicure have been horrible. I kept going back because I didn't want to judge them on just one bad experience, but this is my third bad experience. The first bad experience, all my nails chipped quickly. This was a first for me, so I figured they would fix them. No biggie. Things happen. My second bad experience, I called and Mandy said she would fix them. Mandy (who has been great) was so rough with me that I actually had to stop her and tell her to be more gentle. She didn't listen and cut me till I bled. Then she proceeded to paint OVER the chipped nails. I told her that was unacceptable and she needed to fix them. Her "fix" was thick, bumpy nails that looked like hammered copper. They were supposed to be smooth chrome. I told her they looked awful and she rudely told me, "now they won't chip." She insinuated that it was MY fault the nails chipped because she said she warned me the chrome would chip (a lie). And also, I've had chrome nails before with no problem. Today I went to get my nails done, thinking the last times were a fluke. Nope! A new girl was there and she kept letting the electric file hit my skin. I kept asking her to be careful because my skin was burning. She just kept saying sorry, but then proceeded to let the electric file slip(?) across my finger and it sliced it like a knife!! Seriously?!?!??? I asked her to stop and have someone else do my nails, but no one else was there. She did offer a 10% discount for my pain. Eye roll. It seems others have noticed the service and quality go downhill too because the place was empty, and the shop looked run down. Also, many of their nail artists that people loved (like Mika and Queenie) are gone....hmmmm. I guess I need a new nail place. Crying. read more

My daughter and I had been to this salon once before and had been happy with our gel manicures. But this second time around, we both made appointments for 2pm but when we arrived there was only one nail tech present. She started doing my daughter's gel manicure and didn't even bother to tell me that I would have to wait for her to do my nails until I asked her if she was the only nail tech working. She told me the other tech did not show up to work that day. It would have been nice if she would have called me beforehand to let me know they were short staffed and I'd have to wait, at which point I could've decided for myself whether I wanted to go in and wait or not. Oh well, I figured it wouldn't be an issue to wait since most techs can finish a gel manicure in under an hour. She ended up taking 1 hour and 45 minutes on my daughter's nails!!! She was incredibly slow, and by the time she was done I could not spend ANOTHER 2 hours just to get my own nails done. This girl must be starting out new because the end result of my daughter's manicure was a lumpy, bumpy mess. The worst part was paying $65 for the manicure, which I wouldn't have minded, if she'd done a good job. My daughter ended up driving straight to another salon to get the manicure redone and paid $35 for a much more professional job. We will NOT be returning to this place. I'm normally just a pedi girl because I have a bad tendency to pick and peel at my finger nails after a week of having a manicure. Now that I have tried Japanese Gel here, I have converted to getting regular gel manicures and kicked the habit of picking at my nails because the quality of Japanese gel is so amazing. It doesn't leave my nails feeling heavy nor thick and lasts such a long time. My nails remained flawless after 3 weeks of wear and even after rock climbing. I'll admit it-my vice is getting my nails done every ~3 weeks. I love that clean, put together look. I've tried gel, and dip, but never Japanese gel nails. Wanting to try something new and unique for my upcoming bridal shower and wedding, I went down a IG rabbit hole looking at nail designs. I stumbled upon Linh's work and was so impressed by the detail sure puts into her nail designs. Truly, her work on nails is beautiful art! I booked my first appointment with Linh at CL atelier and was greeted by friendly staff. Hygiene is a priority for everyone here and I appreciated that everyone was wearing masks. After washing my hands after checking in, I sat down and Linh went over the design idea I had in mind-floral design with gold foil, an idea I saw on her IG. During my first appointment with her she taught me about the difference between Japanese gel nails vs regular gel nails and dip. I was so shocked that the dip nails I have been doing for 1.5+ plus had taken such a toll on my nails, and weren't healthy for my nails after all. While Japanese gel nails are more of an investment, they are not as harmful for your nails, and are easier to remove. Japanese gel nails also last longer-up to six weeks! After an hour of great convo, and meticulous placement of the nail stickers, foil, and glitter, my nails have never looked so fabulous. Linh is so talented, and really takes your ideas, runs with it, and elevates it. Would 100% recommend going to see her if you want to be adventurous and try something new.
