I spotted termites in a wooden workbench that came in the house that we bought and was concerned it potentially could have spread throughout the house and our separate shop. I contacted Dale for an inspection, he was very quick to respond and came out for an inspection almost immediately. I had a raccoon living in the crawl space under my house. Another company did a great job getting rid of it and sealing everything up. However, the owner went on a long vacation just as I realized my squatter had attracted fleas, and they were in the house. I called R&D because they had good reviews and I needed help fast. Dale, the owner, picked up the phone right away, and put his employee, Brian, in touch with me immediately. Brian came out the next day and checked it out. He conferred with Dale on the best course of action, and we made an appointment for him to come treat the house. Brian went through the whole house with me and went over everything he was going to do. He sprayed into the crawl space, all the carpets/throw rugs, and all crevices in the house. I only had to be out of the house for about two hours, and when I got back, there was no smell. I vacuumed and sealed up and threw away the dirt as Brian advised. I called R&D for a second opinion regarding termites found when removing a dead grape vine because the company I've been paying for years only said they do not treat termites outside the home. Dale called me back while he was on vacation. He took the time to describe the situation and explain what the company I've used for years should have. Because my last termite inspection was 6 months ago, he said to schedule the next in 3 to 5 years. He could have scheduled work for himself, but he didn't. I called after 6 and apologized as I could not call during work, and he still took the time and answered all my questions. I have to say it's very un common for a business owner to tell you that at this time "I would not spend the money to hire me because you just had it inspected a year ago during escrow",and that I should not worry. A few weeks ago I woke up to the sound of scratching and whining in my bedroom wall. That went on for a good week or two before I decided to call Dale of R&D Pest Control. I got his number from the monthly advertisement magazine. He was very prompt. He came out the same day to walk through the inside of my home as well as the exterior. We couldn't find any visible entry routes on the inside, however when Dale examined the exterior he noticed there were some screens missing at the top of my house and entry holes on the bottom screens of the house. Dale started straight away replacing the top screens so birds and squirrels wouldn't be an issue. He also replaced the bottom screens after he set traps. Inside of the home, he inspected the crawlspace and the attic and set traps in both of those areas. Dale also came back weekly to check the interior and exterior of the house and to check the traps. I no longer wake up to noises coming from my wall (just the neighbors kids, but I guess I can't exterminate them). For all pest control or termite needs I would recommend Dale.
