I was sent here because my insurance company chose them. My catalytic converter got stolen and I needed a replacement and the parts associated. Like the oxygen sensor which was the whole conundrum as you will see. They have been very personable always. I appreciate that and commend them on their public relations. As to the service I had to go back 5 times. 5 times! To fix the part they "fixed" My car isn't new so I often expect some added complications. The issue I have with this company is that they never respected my wish to fix the issue. 3 of the times I brought it in they told me it wasn't broken and just re-set the sensor. Then the 4th they told me it wasn't in fact the part that the sensor said was broken but I needed to pay them $600 to clean the engine and that would fix the issue that the car thought was the part. (Oxygen sensor) Then I took it to 3 more mechanics to get other opinions to be sure. All of them said. "Yup, it's the oxygen sensor alright." And the Honda dealer said maybe they used a cheep part and sometimes that doesn't interface well with this engine. So I went back a 5th time and asked that they fix the part (and not ask me for cleaning costs roughly equivalent to the cost of the work they were going to have to do to fix their mistake...) As soon as they did that work it runs amazingly. They aren't close to my house. In total I've driven 10 hours and equivalent tanks of gas to get them to do the work they were paid to do the first time. I was excited to find personable mechanics but realized that the work spoke for itself and I will never be coming back unless the work they did breaks again. read more

The best part was the price came in UNDER the original quote as they found they didn't need to use a more expensive part. I have never had that happen before. I made an appointment online and they called me to confirmed that I am set for that date and time. When I arrived, Scott was the person that assisted me during my visit to get my car oil coolant replace. He was very communicative and understanding. When he realized I am given a large bill but helped me break it down with a coupon so I can afford the full cost. But I wished I knew about the shuttle and would have saved myself $18 for Uber when I live 5 blocks from them. But I definitely see myself coming back for more repairs when needed. I had a wheel bearing going out on my Ford Transit Connect van and MD Auto was recommended to me. I called and made an appointment for the next week and dropped off my van at 7:30 am on the day of the appt. Mark called several hours later to say the bearings for both front wheels were in need of repair (@ 700 ea), one side being worse than the other. They also said my left axle was a problem - something of which I already was aware. They pointed out the labor wouldn't be much more since the wheel was removed for the bearing, so I also had the left axle replaced now rather than later (@ 300). The work was completed by 3pm - much faster than I'd expected. Fair prices, quick and friendly service. I am satisfied and the van is a MUCH quieter ride now! read more

The service was absolutely outstanding! I received a mailer with coupons for spring service. Everything went fine from setting up the appointment for initial service on my 2018 Dodge Journey to checking in at the set time. They sent reminder text and calls just to confirm the appointment. They informed me of any extra concerns before any work was done on the vehicle. Using the coupons saved me a great value! I thought that would be the last I heard from them until just now when I received the best Customer Care Call from a wonderful lady just checking in to see how my vehicle was doing since the appointment. While visiting KCMO, I unexpectedly broke down. I randomly selected MD from the Yelp reviews. John and Mark were most helpful and accommodated me on such short notice. As it turned out, a family friend in the area was able to repair my vehicle for much less so that we could still have some $$$ left for vacation (since he didn't have the overhead expenses of a shop with employees). I cannot speak of MD's mechanical abilities and quality, but their customer service is outstanding and comforted me in a great time of need. read more

They were very nice to get me in early and get me back on the road quickly. My muffler and exhaust pipe rusted and disconnected. They told me how long the service would take, offered to give me a ride to work, but it was fast enough that I didn't need it. The waiting room was inviting and comfortable so I had no hesitation to stay for the duration of my service. They were very nice and friendly. I recommend taking your car to them. read more

I asked them if they could cut out a couple of unnecessary catalytic converters out of my car, seeing as my car has 4. I tried to explain to them that cutting out the 2 unnecessary CATs would not break any emission laws and they said they still wouldn't do it. Horrible customer service as well. read more

Just picked up my '97 Prelude from 'em. My mechanic (Tim London) recommended these guys. My muffler came detached from my exhaust and was making a ton of racket and I had another quote from a shop just a few blocks away for ~$80 without tax.. Went here just to feel like I shopped around and my mechanic was right, these guys are awesome; they had me in and out in about 30 minutes and only charged me ~$50 with tax included. Everyone that worked there was very friendly and courteous without being overly talkative, and the work was excellent. They ran a partial new exhaust, welded my muffler on, and even rewelded a mount that was missing. I mentioned that my wiper fluid had a leak and they even checked that too, at no cost. Very good service, very fair and honest, and very quick. I will be coming back here for everything that Tim London can't fix himself. read more

All the work was fully documented and the warranty paperwork managed effectively. They have a clean and well-managed facility with a comfortable waiting room, but they also will provide you a shuttle service or loaner car, if scheduled. I bought my 2015 Rav4 from CarMax and MD Auto Repair is listed as one of their vendors for Repair Pal, which can be used for cars under warranty. My car needed a simple oil change. (I later learned this service is not under warranty and you can use any other vendor for this service.) I booked my initial appointment online through Repair Pal and received confirmation by text. However, MD Auto Repair had no record of it. I rebooked a second appointment by telephone. I dropped my car off at 9 am and they kept it until close that day (8 hours!). They also recommended that I replace my battery, serpentine belt, drain the transmission, have the rear brakes replaced and also replace all wiper blades. Of course, none of this is under warranty. I took my car to another mechanic to check these items and none of these things needed to be done, except the wiper blades (before winter). As a single woman, I would call this predatory. Take your business elsewhere. Zero stars. read more

Had to have my muffler and pipes replaced. They were extremely helpful, fast and the cost was reasonable. Highly recommend.

The Muffler Doctor at first claimed that I needed new rotors to pass the Missouri MVI (motor vehicle inspection) but then changed their mind when I demonstrated that the rotors were still good, so always get a second opinion when dealing with the MD. read more
