I understand how important reviews are to small businesses, especially during our current climate, which is why I struggled with whether to write this one at all. I actually would have loved to give Richard a 5-star rating here because he was fast, on time, did a good job at getting stains out, and seemed like a genuinely nice guy. However, once the new tenants moved into the place, they vacuumed and picked up a bunch of pet hair and wanted it recleaned. I checked with Richard and he said that the carpet is in bad condition and there's nothing else he can do (which he already told me earlier, so that was fine). To which I responded that I would give him the landlord's number in case they want to rebook another cleaning (and because they're claiming I didn't get it professionally cleaned) and he responded with "Well the truth is I don't have anything to talk about with them, that's your issue." The tenants are claiming that I didn't have professional cleaning done, even though I did through Richard, so I do think it's also his issue. Regardless, that was such an unprofessional and rude response. I wasn't even being rude to him either, I would be more understanding if I was being horrible, but I wasn't. Richard was very professional and was very clear on what he was going to do. He gave instructions on how to maintain the carpets properly after he was done. For those that are buying groupons and other discount coupon sites, that's great, just realize this is hard work and business owners don't really make any money from it because Groupon takes their cut. The only way they can benefit is if two things happen: 1. You continue to be a repeat customer 2. You refer them friends and family And if you got a great deal, consider tipping! I have to be honest. I made a mistake. The landlord at my complex "requested" I use a specific steam cleaner this time around. What a mistake! With a new roomie moving in a day, I reached out to Richard in a panic. Not only did he make room in his schedule for me the following day but fixed all the issues of the previous steam cleaner. My roomie was not the cleanest and there were serious stains that the 1st steam cleaner claimed 'could not come out'. Richard did an incredible job and got them out! I called around 15 other Carpet Cleaning Companies and I couldn't not believe how much better Richard was just on the phone. The 15 other companies were rude, short, and just overall unpleasant. From the beginning, Richard was so friendly, accommodating, answered all of my questions with patience, and his yelp deal is such a great one! I wanted to give him 5 stars on yelp before he even got to our house to clean the carpets. I figured I should wait until he actually came to do the job before I rated him here.. haha So he came to the house and knocked out our large living room in an hour. Since then, I've had him back to refresh high-traffic areas and do a complete cleaning when I sold my house. I get that everybody needs to make to buck but this guy was ridiculous. I bought a voucher for $60, the owner/operator shows up, inspects the carpet, looks at my dog, see that I have a kid and then all of the sudden I was getting charged $80 more due to the spots and apparently my dog urinates in the apartment (no he doesn't). I live on the bottom floor unit all and this guy wants to use a "portable" device for an extra $35. Really? OH and they request you give them a tip!!!! I guess I have stupid woman written on my forehead. Oh and did you know that a hallway was considered an extra room? Oh well, on the other side 3 days after the carpets being cleaned it looks pretty good. read more

R & R Carpet Cleaning did a great job for me this morning! I bought the service through Amazon, so I wasn't sure what type of company would be coming out. But Richard, the owner/operator was professional, on time (actually early), he scoped out the house and started promptly. He even gave me booties to wear on my shoes until the carpet was completely dry. My carpet had not been cleaned for 2 years and was quite dirty. It now looks great and perfect for the holidays!!! Richard was great to deal with at first and did clean my carpet in 3 areas that needed it as instructed. It looked cleaner than it was and paid for it. Now the issue, I asked him to fix an area of the carpet that was not properly set in place. He wanted to charge me extra for it, which I was fine with. I was not home at the time he wanted to come fix the issue of the carpet lifting (not attached to the tack strip), therefore I left a key for his access. He texts me that he was there at the property, then proceeds to tell me to pay him for his service. I wanted more then just a single photo of the fix, or him asking for payment. Therefore, I brought my friend who is a general contractor to help install some lights later in the day, and I wanted for him to review the job of the carpet to ensure it was done properly. All Richard did is put Tape down for the carpet to stick too, and didn't even fix the issue! It was a complete SCAM and my general contractor mentioned this job was not done right and hoped I didn't pay him... All that was needed was a new tack strip, set The tack strip in place, and set the carpet onto the tack strip. This was not done! Now, I can't promise that Richard is gonna hook ya up with little plastic booties that you put on your shoes: It may have been my charming personality or my dashing good looks...but I got some and have been wearing them for days now!!! I start with a sprint down the hallway....and then slide on the carpet...FOR A GOOD FIVE FEET. My very own clean, dry and awesome-as-h*ll Slip and Slide. (Please don't try this at home kids...I am a professional Carpet Skater with great health insurance). Okay...now onto the experience: Richard was on-time, friendly, informative and professional. First let me say that this is my very FIRST posting on Yelp, and I couldnt think of a better way of "Yelp-ing" it up than to give credit where credit is due. I speak of R&R Carpet Cleaning. I have used R&R Carpet Cleaning's services on multiple occassions; about 8 times. Richard is always wonderful and very professional! These guys seriously do an amazing job. Their prices are absolutely reasonable too! The first time Richard helped me out was when I moved into an apartment, which had a previous stain that the landlords had tried to remove many times but were unsuccessful in getting removed. I have to admit that I even attempted to remove it...no success..Richard came by and the stain lifted right before my eyes! MAGIC! And the best part was that the stain never came back! I recommended R&R Carpet Cleaning to my work which would include dirty gym carpets and THOSE stains were removed!! Amazing!! Richard has never let me down since then. I bought a Groupon for the service and called 4 times before I received a phone call back. Before I purchased it I Wazed the distance and was within one mile of the maximum. After finally receiving a phone call back, the man was very rude and said that he could not help me, he said it was Groupon's problem, and he had no advice as to how to go about returning the Groupon I purchased and he literally hung up on me while I was still talking. I was very polite yet, his customer service attitude was less then satisfactory. I would not recommend using this service as his attitude most likely will be reflected in his work ethic. read more

I would give this 0 stars if I could. I saw an ad for carpet cleaning and after reviewing their website called to ask some questions. The woman who answered the phone was extremely rude. I informed her that I saw the ad and had a couple of questions. She asked for my address. I informed her the location/community I lived in, but told her I had a few questions I needed answered first before I give out my address. Don't fall victim to multiple HIDDEN CHARGES and a DECEITFUL PRICING SCHEME; the hallmark traits that make R&R Carpet Cleaning an UNETHICAL company to do business with. No sooner had Richard (R&R owner) stepped into our home did he mention the additional charge of roughly $30 on account of the 25 stairs he would have to climb from his truck to our condo. He then claimed our 15'x15' living room would actually be charged as 2 rooms, but he would "make an exception" and clean only the high traffic areas to keep the cost down for us. Gee...thanks Richard. Next out of his mouth was the $3 per stair charge to clean our carpeted staircase. What?? In less than 5 minutes, Richard's service had DOUBLED IN PRICE from the $60 we had paid on Living Social. That's just the start of it. Feeling uneasy about the arrangement, I offered to help carry Richard's portable cleaning unit (no bigger than a large suitcase with wheels) up to our condo to avoid the $30 charge. That's when Richard became agitated, defensive, and strayed from any form of logical discussion for the remainder of his short stay. Richard predictably refused my help, defended his extra costs as his way of making profit, insulted me in several ridiculous forms, and...my favorite part...BROUGHT MY WIFE INTO THE DISCUSSION saying he'd have to continue the discussion with her since "she's the one in charge". Classy Richard. At that point it was clear there would be no deal. Richard packed his gear and left. For the owner of a business to act this way is unacceptable and potential customers must be warned. Though my only interaction with R&R Carpet Cleaning was with it's owner, I would venture to say that the culture Richard fosters at his company is unsavory and is best to be avoided. Fortunate for me, a quick call to Jeremy of Pacific Shores Carpet Care had our condo clean less than an hour after Richard's speedy departure. One flat rate with Jeremy, no strings attached, and the carpets look great. Take note of that, Richard. read more

Great Service - would highly recommend! I called to schedule an appointment and was immediately pleased with the customer service I received over the phone. I was given a quote along with a date and time the following week that worked for my schedule. When Richard arrived, he was friendly and professional. Bought a Living Social deal for R & R to clean 3 rooms. When Richard came he was very friendly and he talked me into spending much more money on other options. I think this is called up-selling. When he left, my carpets and couch were so wet I was shocked. They remained damp for over a week, and they really smelled bad. I asked him to come back and help remedy the situation. When he came back he was rude and condescending. He did nothing to help the situation, he argued and finally I just asked him to leave. I called our normal carpet cleaners and they are coming over to re-clean and do damage control to the carpets. I'm afraid our couch is ruined. I bought an Amazon Local deal for 2 bedrooms under 500 square feet for $40 dollars and THOUGHT I was getting a great deal...I made an appointment for 4pm. At 4:15 I called to make sure they were still coming. Richard answered and explained to me, in a condescending tone, that they operate on "windows of time" and that he had explained that to me when we had made the appointment (no he didn't). He also explained that he was ACTUALLY "doing me a favor" by coming at 4 because usually doesn't work past 3. Silly me, I thought I had PAID for a service? He finally arrived at 4:40 and did a cursory job that lasted about 10 minutes. And then proceeded to charge me an additional $35 dollars for living in a high-rise. Bought the carpet cleaning on living social. Worst purchase I have made online. Yes, I got some booties but so what! I had to pay extra because of all the hidden charges person doing the carpet cleaning had great personality but the cleaning was not done right he was more of a sales man than a cleaning professional. All the areas that where "clean" were soaking wet. Extra $75 because of the location of the apartment, which has never been a problem with the other carpet cleaner companies. Used them to clean our carpets twice thanks to my dog! :) they do a good job cleaning, carpets look brand new again. They call before they head over which is always nice. The only thing I'm not a big fan of is that when you call them to make an apt, they take your info down then someone will call you back to schedule. It's not a big deal but I always don't have a chance to answer my phone especially when I'm at work so that part could be better.
